I'm becoming addictive to this channel. Cleveland Orchestra since George Szell is one of the finest orchestras in the world. Yefim Bronfman is with his interpretation at his highest level.
Fantastic! Extra appreciation for the wonderfully played 3rd horn soli by Hans Clebsch and 1st horn soli by Richard King. Wonderful horn section and orchestra! Bravo Bronfman too.
At this point, William Preucil was still with the orchestra and the renovations to Severance Hall not yet been made. I was surprised to find the hall's acoustics rather dead - no comparison to Berlin, Vienna, Amsterdam, or Paris. However, the playing is excellent so there's that.
The hall was renovated from 1991-2000. This performance was from 2015. This hall has amazing acoustics - some of the best in the world. I’ve played there and heard The Cleveland Orchestra in concert.
@@NathanielRobinson Excellent. That's the difference between listening on RU-vid and actually being there!!! I thought I had read somewhere that the hall had just recently (2022-23?) been renovated. Thank you!!
@@violinhunter2 yeah RU-vid can be deceptive. I played Sibelius Symphony #1 with The Cleveland Orchestra last summer at Blossom and we had a rehearsal in Severance. It has the most brilliant acoustics. Before the rehearsal I was in the back of the hall and could clearly hear (I kid you not) people on stage whispering to each other.
One of the most emotional compositions, I love this concerto indeed, let the music caress your hearts fans & never let bad guys win to screw us the joy of life. . . Brahms was a great guy indeed, try to imagine his audience listening this...the most scandalous heretic waking up all demons hidden in any hypocrit liar of his ages😂😂😂😅😅😅
