Uploaded 15 years ago, I must have listened to this beautiful transcendental rendition in loops. Habib Sahab's voice alone is justice to the poetry which is sung in such a manner that you do feel the pain. Imagine Ghalib listening, could he ever stop?
This great poetic diction of Ghalib would have faded into Oblivion had it not been sung in the voice & tune of Habibwali Mohammed Sahib. The Singer has made it an immortal lyrical cry.Through his rendition the singer has conferred the immortality both upon himself as well as upon the Great Poet Mirza Ghalib.
Habib wali Mohd.,He is well known, not lesser known. He is a Ghazal maestro, and is simply superb. This is one of his great renditions and i for one..salute him and his art.
Wonderfully rendered ghazal by Habib Wali Mohammed Sahab. Now I am 83 years old. I listened to it when I was 16 years old but I could neither forget Habib Wali Mohammed Sahab nor this ghazal as sung by him.
I heard him when i was 8 or 9 years old my father had brought cassetes of him as that was the only source in 75 to 80 i had ears for good music i remember him ghulam ali and mehdi hasan sabri brothers
same pinch. I wast about 10 and we had a record - "The Best of Habib Wali Muhammad" Sahab. My father would listen to it almost every day with a drink every evening. How I miss those times - Listening to records in the company of my late father.
The nasal sound of Habib Wali Muhammad simply beats every branded Bollywood singer in his masterly rendition of MirzaGhalib 's famous ghazal ! Hats off to him !!
rajinder balhara , your reach regarding rendition of excellent ghazals by Bollywood’s singer is poor. Habib is unique in his way but cannot compare with Manna De and Rafi sahab.
rajinder balhara saab by praising someone, you don’t need to downsize other singers. They did their best as well. I like him very much and listen him quite often. Cheers
He has got a very soulful n wonderful voice.i was 14 to 15 yrs when i heard him on cassettes that was a super time of life enjoying on little recorder n satisfied.love all these ghazals
'Yeh na thi hamari qismat' and 'lagta nahin hai dil mera' in my view are Habib Wali Mohammed's most memorable ghazals that I keep hearing again and again without ever losing myself in the beauty of his voice Ghalib;s/Zafar's words and the soulful composition. Hats off, Habib saheb !
Totally disagree! Sur nhe hy jo deeply felt ho! Mehdi Hasan sahab acha ga skty thy....oar lata mangheshkr bhe, slow tarz me with classical touch! -It's my view
I love this rendition. He sang with passion and pathos. Brought Ghalib alive. It has another stunning sher: Ye kahan ki dosti hi ke bane hin dost naseh: Koi charasaaz hota, koi gham guzar hota!
I used to listen to him when in class 10 . Being pushtoon, I had but a little understanding of the poetical aspects of the lyrics . Nonetheless, his melodious voice had a mystical effect on me which I carried all my life off n on . Professor BUKhattak
When I was too young and listened this ghazal for the first time, I wondered why my father likes this ghazal......now I listen this ghazal in Habib sahabs voice several times a month.....
Had a pleasure of listening to him after I picked him from his house to his concert in my car with his son. I listened to him in my childhood but didn’t know I would have that honor. Great singer. May his soul rests in peace.
Incredible, incomparable; it's killing composition of Mirza Sahab and even more killing is voice given by Habib Wali Sahab....! It brings out tears so helplessly, such is the magic of his voice....!!! It's effect is the same no matter how many times you listen to it, simply amazing..! Thanks to Tauseef Sahab..!!!
Some people may consider this a Ghazal, but I think of this as Na'at, as it is clear from the opening Lyrics, 'It was not my destiny to see my beloved in Life, If I lived any longer, I would have had to wait even more to meet him'!
Sung so well in his resonating and reverberating voice! I first heard his original version of the ghazal "aaj jaane kee zid naa karo" and then looked for more from him.
In 70s he had come to Hyderabad India jubilee hall for some function, after midnight he was in real mood to sing, but the politicians who were not interested in gazals said to wind up the function. He did not like it but kept quiet. I was a kid at that time. But i still remember vividly. Even then I know he was exceptionally good singer. Listening to him in person was such a treat.
Darkness of mortality takes away bone & flesh, no doubt. But Habib Wali Mohammad had a Divine gift of immortal voice, which will ever be echoing around the World. Recent past also deprived us of another great voice i.e Jagjit Singh. Both the great, knew poetry and recitation very well. They will never depart from my heart, ever. May their souls rest in peace.
This great song of habib ji and words of mirza ghalib Saahib directly goes into my heart straight god/allah bless them singing and writing in jannat/heaven
please also listen to the version of amanita ali khan. I am not comparing it is just a slightly different flavor. I actually like Habib,Rafi and Amanat Ali's version equally
All great singers of the sub-continent take pride in singing Ghalib. Here is one of his masterpiece ghazls, sung by a lesser known singer Habib Wali Mohd. But in my opinion he sung it better than most of the other singers. It is my all time favorite since college days. Thanks for uploading.
He wasn't lesser known, any person who had interests in ghazals, classical knew him for long long time. I heard him in my teen years decades back. He was on PTV in 70s and 80s and radio long before, even he was played in Indian radios as well long before TV.
his all three ghazals namely ghalib, bahadurshah Zafar were heard on all india radio from nineteen fiftyseven onwards. hats off to Habib wali Muhammed.
A great ghazal by yet another great singer. Few people know that Habib Wali Mohammad is a US educated MBA degree holder. Moreover, he hails from the famous & rich 'Habib' family of the 'Land of the Pure,' owners of more famous Habib Bank and Habib Bank AG Zurich. He never charged anything for his God given singing talents. He is by far, my favorite singer since early school days in the 1970s. May God Almighty grant Habib Wali Mohammad long & prosperous life & good health. Aameen, Tsum Aameen.
Indeed peerless singing.!! Vocabulary fails to express the affect of his notes on the soul. His Melody had conferred immortality on himself as well as on the king poet Bahadur Shah Zaffar
Habib wali mohammad humaray classic singer han ghalib ki ye khubsorat shaiyri habib wali mohammad ki classic gayki say saji ha shaiyri ka aik aik bol classic ha our dil ko choo raha ha classic gayki ma habib wali mohammad ki gayki k classic sur ghalib k classic kalam per chahye huway han classic gayki ka seher mehfil per chahya huwa ha
I am not into poetry or ghazals, but dont know his ghazal stuck in my head since I was very young, my dad used to play every morning in 80s, amd when I listen to him it takes me to my childhood, he is the only one I ever listen to, I was just shocked when I saw he went to same University I went to, Amazing!!!!
