How can this not be filled with those "Anyone 2024?" comments down under here? 2024 this is as good as ever - and this will be my summer anthem this year, I'm sure. This is another one of Yelawolf's songs that seem to embody a whole... theme of genres, making it sound like every "Americana" song every all at once. Just like Pop the Trunk sounds like every gangster theme song there ever was all into one. And once again so utterly simple, yet so utterly insanely good. That is simply the trademark of a true genius. Making simple music that is actually high quality good music through and through is actually much harder than making "complicated" music with tons of elements filling up the whole sound space with some sound or noise or whatever that sounds very good and impressive, but that you'll get tired of and bored of after a week or something. This thing though... is it from the 80's? 90's? 2004?`2022? It's from America, from the US, I can tell you that, and as such I would call this a timeless piece of Americana from over here in Norway, but I know that makes me not qualified to speak on what's Americana and not. Here in Europe we're kinda looked at as "little USA" here in Norway, because we are the biggest consumers of American popular culture, and kinda look to the US before we look down at our neighbors in Europe regarding most everything. We're often more inclined to vote with the US at UN assemblies and such, than with the EU. But then again, we ain't part of the EU and have really no need or hurry to get in either. We've had two referendums and both times we voted no. God damn this song is good!!! So yeah, just to mention here too, I've blatantly written some lyrics to this song, which is a truly heartfelt and awesome tribute anthem to Norway, where I'm from. I've never written a song in my life, but lately I've written two, and I really think they're both really good and awesome, to my huge surprise. As such, the Norway My Little Land tribute is an honest and authentic piece of my heart while the other is a parody funny exaggerated comedy-thing, over the Pop the Trunk music. About snorting cocaine posing with guns on Instagram and talking a lot of sh*t about pussy and stuff. I'll tell you what's another really good summer-anthem.
