@beetlebayley, interesting analogy there.. perhaps a 20yr old cab that completely lit me up!! but these guys have been around much longer.. i prefer to see them as timeless hipsters.. alien?
@@thaDjMauz I'm too old to dance now but I like winding my kids up by playing tracks they wouldn't think I'd like and Yello are one of my favourite bands of all time anyway so win win for me
@@scouseblarney6232 have you, by any chance, ever heard of Shpongle? They are in some ways very similar to Yello, though in many ways also very different. I think you might enjoy their music too, though I would advise to listen to their first two albums first.
You can count me in! Soon 52 myself every time hearing my old Yello vinyls or newer work presented here on YT always instantly sends me time travelling back to 1987 and first youth boy skiing trip to Schladming, afterskiing with nail-in-wood competitions, nails in the thumb, large quantities of 80% Inländer Stroh Rum, Jäger-tee (tea containing even higher percentages), cheap Paderborner beers ...... and then added the main spice: Yello at absolute full volume, so the Heidi bartenders was floating even further across the sealings. Dieter und Boris will live across eternity with their always inspiring tunes ❤❤ Greets from Denmark
Über 40 Jahre, Dieter Meier und Boris Blank ihr seid einfach Weltklasse!I Ich freue mich über jeden Mix/ Album etc , eure Klänge sind Weltklasse und werden sicher nie überboten!
Wow! Really amazing. The 3D work is great and perfect arranged to the fantastic music and to the movements of the two artists. A great pleasure for me to see this! Best regards.
Absolutely. They should. I have been wishing for that to happen for years! Much like I wished for a collaboration between David Bowie and Frank Zappa, which was not to be.
Альбом "Stella" был первой электронной музыкой в моей жизни. Это было в далёком 1986 году. Уже намного позже были Жарры, Вангелисы, Крафтверки и т. д. "Stella" была у меня на кассете! Незабываемо!!!
It was fall 1980 sometime around my birthday I had gone to the Ralph Records Garage Sale in San Francisco, they used to hold a couple times a year. It was neat because you could get all kinds of Residents and Snakefinger stuff, and generally see what the band was up to. Also we figured we were possibly talking with band members. The guy pointed me to a band they had just signed, Yello. Solid Pleasure had a crazy cover, and how could I possibly go wrong? I picked it up with The Commercial Album (also just out not yet in stores) and some random items. I went home, dropped the Residents on and was suitably amazed. Then I dropped Yello on the turntable and was FLOORED. 2 albums that managed to knock Telekon, Peter Gabriel 3 and Scary Monsters off their lofty perch of heavy rotation. The final months of 1980 and early 1981 were so sick. Glad I lived through such an amazing period of music. Even cooler Yello and Sparks still got the touch, with some ups and downs.
@@Andymakov А-а-а... Я думал, что "это" относится к "лучшим электронщикам". Ещё в техане в начале 80-х их слушали. Вместе с Тэнджерин дримс и прочими. Эти полегче и попроще казались, но неожиданно долгоиграющими получились...
i honestly never dove into yello. i know that oh yeah is the official sound check song for well.... sound checks🤣. but helloooooo yelloooooooOOOoOOoOoOoooo !!!this one is flipping awesome too! definitely going to be diving into them now!
It's stunning how they sort of laser-focued their sound in these later "sonic sound-scapes." More analog synth is part of it. More isolation and punctuation of their drum tracks. This could slip into ambient and techno playlists without giving away their 80's origins. Yet never losing their style. This video, too, used digital effects instead of their staged collage vides of their prime MTV period. And, again, they merged their video style of story-telling seemlesslyl into the digital realm. This proves their artistic genius and expands it into the stellar (or should I say "Stella") realms. - _The Acoustic Rabbit Hole_ has spoken. Peace out.
