I doubt that was the case. YMO were known in the UK and the UK being the frontrunners in experimental music the people would have probably enjoyed this.

The rumour is rather convincing to me because of this eccentric sounds, but OK, it is not true. I appreciate your correction. In that case, I really love the UK as always.
Did YMO (or at least R. Sakamoto) influence Kraftwerks "Computer World"era music?.I'm discovering also they were doing synthpop in the 70s.I' d heard of them, saw some live stuff on tv back then,but now I appreciate their influence.Im 57 btw.
