Yellow Rock is a fun little hike located in the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument right off Cottonwood Canyon Road, just north of the Paria Box and south of Castle Rock and Cottonwood Canyon Narrows.
Hi Kevin! Cottonwood Canyon Rd is C-R-A-Z-Y !! 🤘🤘🤩🤩 I totally love it, it’s my favorite route when going to Panguitch/Bryce Canyon🤘 You’re right, there was another route up there, but nothing is saving you from that steep climb 🥵🥵 If I am not mistaken, the road going east at or near that parking lot is the one that takes you to the White Hoodoos 🤘😎 Did you check Lower Hackberry Canyon or The Cottonwood Canyon Narrows?
I got to get out there. Stav climbed Castle Rock in March, has report on it, says class 2-3. He also climbed something called Mollie's Nipple in that area, not sure if that's the other feature you were pointing out.
I know the Mollie's Nipple in Hurricane, UT but not this one, but I would guess that's it. I could've fit in more hiking as I had like 4 hrs of daylight, but I'll save Castle/Red Top and Mollie's for another trip
