Yellowcake, a project assembled in the comparative by vocalist Whitfield Crane (Ugly Kid Joe) and guitarist Jeff Curran, are a spectral force of deliciously warm, thick, heavy, untethered stoneristic riffmeistery, complemented by harmonies, melodies and colors that add epic dimension to the sheer bastard-weight of the music. These are songs born of men (of Black Knights riding their giant unicorns) still not only in love with music, but in love with the freedoms it can offer.
