Question…we don’t plan to go hiking or rafting or anything, we just want to drive, enjoy the scenery and then go back the way we came in. Is there a place to turn around & go back the way we came? We want to enter and exit to Gardiner.
That’s what we did entered through Gardiner and also left through there. I have a couple of videos on the things we saw in Yellowstone. The main road looks like two loops, like a number 8. So easy to go in and leave the same way. Also, there’s overlook turnoffs and parking lots all throughout. So plenty of places to make u-turns if needed. Suggestion would be to identify which sights you want to see. Find a map on line (they will give a paper one at the entrance) and then locate on the map and get the route. Also if you are relying on GPS, download your maps ahead of time, as cell coverage was spotty at best.
