There's one thing you should always appreciate about Yemi Alade, it's the fact that she is very proud of her root as an African woman, she depicts a typical African woman in all her crafts, she's never ashamed of them. Now that comes to me appreciating this video, cos I can't stop watching it. Whaaaat! What more could I say if not absolute perfection. She has mastered her craft so well..
I hate that you make me speechless. Why did you say what I have in my heart? Or, are you a mind reader. Haba I late come here oooh that's why. Tou nailed it my brother.🙌🏿💯⭐
The most hardworking female in nigerian music industry, yet so underrated, probably because she is not a groupie , scandal-free , drama-free, consistency, always very creative both with music and videos, you deserve more credit mama. I love this song so bad. A Congolese from Cape Town .
Exactly, what always bothers me. She is always so underated, while she is the best. Definitely, because of the reasons you mentioned. Fame in the music industry equals been a clout chaser, attention seeker, indeliberate posting of nude pictures and other bad things that doesn't portray a role model. Yemi, doesn't bother herself about those things that's why I love her so much. I pray they would look past all those negative celebrity lifestyles and give her the huge recognition she deserves
Don’t worry Yemi will get her accolades in due time. Wether they like it or not she is one of a kind, never naked, always driving a message and always consistent
The storyline could be about Yemi's upbringing as her mother is Igbo and Father is Yoruba. the video is of an Igbo Woman who had a daughter and is married to a Yoruba man (the woman in the red hair tie called him Ofe Manu meaning Oily soup as yoruba people tend to, in the eyes of SOME igbo people, like oily food). The beginning of the video is the Woman being sent out of the women's meeting and treated like an outcast as the community shames her for her life set up. But in the end it was the same daughter of an "Ofe Manu" that upstaged the so called Sons of the village with Grand gifts and the gifts in the Question were DOUBLE DOUBLE whatever the sons of the soil could put together. Moral of the story, God's grace will rest on anybody's shoulders be it a male or female child.
@oluwatishe hi, its a something SOME igbo people use to describe. Particularly those in the village who are ignorant. The broader igbo community that are not ignorant dont use such remarks at all.
Thanks for the explanation. I tried, but cd not quite understand the moral of the story. Very well done. So happy to see Afrakan themes; instead of always western imitations.
Years ago they told me that my father wanted a male child no a female as I am. Today Yemi gave me that conviction that I can make it in my life. Thank you for this song
This rhythm transcends the whole of Africa 🌍. In Ghana 🇬🇭 it is the Agbadza rhythm of the Ewe people in the Volta region. In Ivory Coast 🇨🇮 it is the Coupé-décalé rhythm (RIP DJ ARAFAT). In Nigeria 🇳🇬 it is a typical Igbo rhythm. This just goes to show that we are all one people. God bless Africa and God bless Yemi Alade + Vtek. 🙌 🙌❤❤🌍🌍.
🇨🇮🇨🇮🇨🇮That's the COUPÉ DECALÉ of Côte d'Ivoire🇨🇮🇨🇮🇨🇮🤧. For those who have already listened to the IVORIAN artist DJ ARAFAT will know that VTEK made DJ ARAFAT on his verse with the same flow, the same gestures and the same ROUKASKASS. Thank you for paying tribute to our legend DJ ARAFAT, the Ivorian people salute you since ABIDJAN, it is Africa that wins
@@m.j.b4875 tu m'as vu dans maquis ?
I really love this song. It's telling my story. My dad got married two years ago to have a male child. He abandoned my mum and I, am yet to even hear the lady is pregnant to think of having a male child. Children are blessing, no matter the gender. Africans should stop gender discrimination.
The idiocy of this silly act, is that these men fail to realise they're the only ones who can donate the male child chromosomes to a pregnancy. A woman only has female child chromosomes, so makes no difference if men marry 100 wives, the ability to bear male kids will always depend on the mam. SMMHHHH!!!!
I cried 😭😭😭 with joy. So proud of you Yemi. The way you advertise and showcase your tradition in fashion dance and ALL your efforts are ONE of. Kind . U are not bothered by western ideology . You are 1 artist ..above your league.. 🥇 🏆..and I’m not Nigerian😘
C'est du coupé décalé et vtek à le même style de notre yôrôbô national (Arafat). Merci yemi de valoriser le style musicale de l'Afrique. C'est l'Afrique qui gagne. Ce kiff et valide le son🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you for this Song Yemi. I am sure a lot of people watching this find it very relatable. A child is a child no matter what sex. All we pray is that every child fulfill his or her destiny.
Can we all give Yemi her deserving flowers already?🌷🌹💐🌷🌷🌹💐 Her love for mother land no be here. Her craft is off the hooks! Video on fleek! Loads of love from pH Nigeria ♥️💚💖💝💯
I love this song so much, sending lots of love all the way from Haiti 🇭🇹 I have been listening to this song since the day Yemi and her team dropped it. I’ve been a fan of hers more than 4 years. Wish you a lot of hits and many many awards. You work so hard for it and you deserve every positive things.

This might not be so relevant. But the fact that she used Ada Ameh for this video shoot is so beautiful!! Considering Mumsy lost her daughter. Yemi Alade is one Queen i will Stan forever!! MAMA AFRICA 🌍❤️🥰
Oh thank you so much beautiful woman. My sky over here is gray, my people don't say "hey" but when I hear your music it takes me FAR away 💃🏼💙💜🏴 oh & is that tartan on your top, I'll take that as a good sign. Stay blessed 🥰
Très beau, bravo. On sent du Arafat dans la musique, du Beyoncé dans les pas de danse mais surtout du yemi Alade dans la voix, saupoudré d'un beau message. Et ça donne un très beau hit et c'est l'Afrique qui gagne

I literally had to come back to re-watch this video, Ada ameh impacted positively in soooo many lives, and I know you're resting in God's bossom now , we will miss you dearly ma 🕯️🕯️🕊️🤍😔
As a young Igbo man, I know Yemi is just trying to narrate a story how some Igbo parents antagonize a suitor just because he's a Yoruba. The phrase "Ofé Mmànu" is mostly used by such parents. Yemi I can tell you that the younger generation no longer do it. We're wiser and we really apologize for the mistakes of our parents.
Nkita ewu Have u seen the Yoruba's pleasing for the N-word they call Igbo's or other tribes is everywhere Hausa call Igbo nyamiri bansa u know the meaning No. Yoruba's as well is 50 50 but we most not follow our parents step
I don't understand what you are trying to case the only problem I see there is the don't there daughter to marry a yoruba man apart from calling names I don't see anything in that calling someone on things the love to eat is not a bad thing just like calling an Hausa Aboki which u know is not bad
This song got me teary.God bless you mamma Africa. I always believe that we shall all make our lovely parents proud one day,we are four proud sisters no male child. But so far God has been seeing us thru where male is needed.once again thanks for encouraging a soul. I'll always love you.I pray to meet u one on one someday!
I just listened to the first 2 lines and I’m already teary eyed. Thank you Yemi. You say what my mother is always telling me ! Thank you and the dancing as always is insane !! And that last sentence omg .. you did it again !! This one deserves an award .
I loved the fact Yemi is one of my Fav's and I believe she is to like minds and as such, she never gives any room to disappoint us all. She knows the onions to her craft and knows how to add other condiments to it. I don't stan nonsense. Big ❤️❤️❤️ #DOUBLEDOUBLE.
I just heard this song for the very first time today! October 31, 2021, 8:15 pm, from Paynesville city in Monrovia, Liberia 🇱🇷 and I LOVE ITTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!! ❤️😊🙏🏽 Thanks Yemi for that powerful quote at the end. Us West African girls are very proud of you. 👏🏾 thank God for you my sister.❤️❤️😊
Beautiful! Yemi Alade style to keeping the African dressing code in her work, is awesome! I cherish her more, now she's picked Igbo culture and tradition in video 🤗❤ Igbo people continue to practice and believe in traditional practices and beliefs that date back centuries. Igbo traditional cultural wear has changed after being colonized by West and modern Europeans. But, the culture and traditional dress style is always eye-catching and very elegant look! The Igbo cultural heritage and dress style is one of the greatest... 👍👏😊❤
@Bio Nation Point of correction, next time you want to address people unfamiliar with you, do not abbreviate words. Sorry, I decided share my own view and part of the video clip that cuts my attention and interested Me! You are free to do yours. Thank you! ✌
I have never watched and listened to a music while staying steel I mean I was eating and stopped instantly holding my spoon till the video ended. Am blown away by the richness of both the song lyrics and video
@@vtekdawesome I had to hit a subscription button after checking on your account. I like the way you played those drumings in that song, they sounded more like seben, Congolese way of 🥁. I have become your fun from Uganda 🇺🇬.
