I'm a Nigerian but attended a school where few of my teachers were Ghanians, so intelligent and given to duty. My knowledge in phonetics and most Ghanian songs including the national anthem became possible because of them. God bless Late Ben Kofi Danso of Benjoy Private School, Lagos, Nigeria.
March 10, 2019 I took part at the Ghana Raising Flag Ceremony in Toronto. I liked this song very much. Please accept my congratulations, Ghanaian people! Wish you all the best!
I'm a Nigerian, but, I can't stop listening to this song over and over again. I don't understand the meaning, but, the melody is something else. God bless Ghana, God bless Nigeria, God bless Africa as a whole. Weldon my people. I came to know about this song through a Ghananian RU-vidr called WODE MAYA. He uses this song as his intro, and I love it so much, I started asking questions about the song, how I can lay my hands on it. One of the subscribers came to my rescue and told me how I can find the song on RU-vid. Since then, I can't stop listening to it every second of the day. Words cannot explain how the song Ministered to me. Thank you guys once again. Weldon!!!
This is exactly how I found this song too. I love it and I can't stop listening to it as well. The melody is absolutely amazing. I don't understand the words but I know it must be a good song.
One day i will be The President and Supreme Leader of Ghana🇬🇭, and i will make this song the official National Anthem. It captures our aspirations and journey, and evokes sense of duty and patriotism. God bless Dr. Ephraim Koku Amu and #GodBlessGhana🇬🇭
They don't play these songs on radio and Tv's anymore, Ghanaian youths today are losing that patriotic spirit that we have for Ghana, we love our Ghana please teach, and revive these patriotic songs once again.

Translation: This is our own native land; What a priceless heritage, Acquired with the blood our ancestors shed for us; It is now our turn to continue what our ancestors started Bragging of educational achievements; Or useless greed for material things, And bad lifestyles are destroying our nation, and disgracing it. Whether or not this nation prospers; Whether or not this nation prospers; It will clearly depend on the character of the citizens of the nation. Whether or not this nation prospers; Whether or not this nation prospers; It will clearly depend on the character of the citizens of the nation.
@@jafree33 I see.We sang it at school back in the day on a daily basis. It was meant to inspire us to greater heights. I am so much inspired by the words too.An excellent composition by Ephraim Amu of blessed memory.

Aww such a patroit..God bless u. Sometimes it breaks my heart to see politicians run our nations down, yet I remain hopeful that we will reclaim our destiny and ghana will become prosperous
@@sylviaa.8257 but nobody listens to the Ewe versions, he was a true Ghanaian, Ewes must learn to assimilates into Ghanaian society’s, let’s say no to tribalism
@Daniel Sterling Yhis was an info about the composer. Did you know that he learned Twi as a second language? That alone should tell something. Ewes can all speak twi. The question is, can you speak any other Ghanaian language fluently? If you can, then you are a true Ghanaian!
these are the songs we need. they should be rehearsed in the ears of this generation lest we stand to lose our Patriotic spirit and love for our dear land GHANA. A beautiful land. Blessed by God.
Befittingly worthy a national anthem of a great African country. It's the anthem in my heart worth enchanting daily as I tirelessly toil in diaspora, the land away from home!! Ohh how I long to see thee my sweat home, filled with uncomparably delicious fruits like jarkftuits, finger bananas, sugarcanes, mangoes , yams, cassava and the like!
Belated happy independence day and 54th birthday to the Republic of Ghana. May God continue to bless us all and our homeland Ghana and make her great and strong. 🙂🙂🙂🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
@@pietrojenkins6901 it is a Ghanaian language called Akan. its a music meant to instill patriotism in the citizens... This is the transation in English : this is our motherland. it is precious for us. it was acquired by our forefathers with their blood. it is our obligation now to continue with their legacy. but as a result of our selfish behaviors , our country is falling apart. whether our nation will move forward or not will depend on the action and inaction of the current generation......
Is that this land is ours and precious to us, our forefathers fought for it with their blood for us. It’s our obligation to continue but due to our self seeking behavior we don’t. Whether the country will progress or not it’s unto us.
He composed it in Ewe (Miade nyigba lorlor la) and then translated it in Twi. Ewe version is sang in schools in the Volta Region. He was a great scholar who learnt Twi as a second language and became a scholar in the phonetics. He was a Ghanaian, not just an Ewe. May he rest I. peace!
