'SCS' stands for Secret Connecting System. Inside the PB-8 pedal board you will find a simple but ingenious connection system based on the RJ connector protocol that distributes both power and audio to each pedal (many telecommunication systems also use this as it's light, stable and efficient). This means the traditional but antiquated ¼" jack system is not needed thereby freeing up considerable real estate on the pedal board and making the whole package very neat. Also, it's dead quiet and because the power is distributed to each pedal, only a single 9V DC feed is needed to any one of the pedals that goes on to power all of the other pedals. Great!
All of this would mean little if the pedals didn't sound good. Oh, but they certainly do. VERY good. Here we have a selection of eight great sounding and well thought out pedals, ranging from the excellent GT-10 Screamer with extra 'Fat' switch through to the DM-60 delay which just sounds superb. All of the other pedals are exceptional and there are more coming in the series, I'm told.
It should be noted that each of these pedals stands on its own and can be used separately from the SCS system if you wish. They all have standard ¼" jacks and they are all True Bypass.
The only thing I haven't demoed here is the speaker/headphone output on the FS-12 Footswitch. This will come at a later date but you can rest assured that it competes favourably with the other better known speaker sim pedals on the market.
Yerasov are a very progressive Russian company who have already gained accolades for their GTA-15 which was given the top award by the well known European 'Guitar' magazine. It is likely to be my next demo for them and I'm looking forward to trying that amp a lot. In the meantime, check out these pedals and the Yerasov SCS system. I really like it and will most definitely be using it on stage over Summer 2013.
