Yes encored with their hit song “Owner of a Lonely Heart” at their show at Atlanta Symphony Hall, July 30, 2014. Steve Howe has finally adopted Trevor Rabin’s guitar sound!
I dont know why people say for then to hang up? Hell I would play till the day I die if I could be in their situation. As long as an audience is to be entertained go out and do just that. Also fans need to read Close to the Edge the Story of Yes by Chris Welch. Learn about them as people before you pass your judgements
I love Yes in many of its incarnations. I'm not feeling it from this newer singer. His voice and on-stage antics make me cringe. And, for the love of all that is holy, Steve Howe learn to play Trevor Rabin's guitar parts. (I disagree that he "adopted TR's guitar sound.") Anyway, I will miss Chris Squire. RIP
+Justin OConnor,,,He wrote the the solo iIm quite sure he knows it... hahah! So according to you he is unable to improvise his own solo after performing it for 30 years? umm okj dude
+sixfoursoul1 Howe wasn't even in the band when OFLH was written, fella! Who wrote it was Trevor Rabin, whose sound Howe failed to emulate Rabin's parts (and the solo) all these years!
Sixfoursoul: You don't know what your talking about. Trevor Rabin wrote this song . Steve Howe wasn't even in YES during the 80's. In fact it is known among YES fans he hates playing this song.
Perfect!!! I´m a Howe fan but this solo was ridiculous!! I think that Rabin is an excelent guitarrist and I love your work on Yes and I have to say: When he got the job to play whit Yes in the 80´s Mr. Rabin learned all the songs and solos and still playing very well, not as your better days, but still making a very good work with ARW. Why Howe don´t do this ? Is just one solo of one song!!
The new singer sounds like Jon Anderson but he is off the beat; I miss Jon Anderson! Howe does his best imitation of Trevor Rabin yet -- for the best performance of this song go back to the 1984 concert with Trevor Rabin & Jon Anderson
I loved the 2014 studio album, but I don't think the new singer has the "right stuff" to become a real front man. I'm rather talking about stage pressence and the ability to "pump up" the crowd. But of course, the average age of the specators isn't 20 anymore...
Maciej Madejski it's all personal preference. I like Jon D's voice better than Benoit's. There are some people who didn't like Yes because of Jon A's voice...
лучшая группа в мире за все время, ну после 2006 года она сильно изменилась, самое главное чтоб оставался барабанщиг,клавишник,гитаристы, вокал далеко не главное, да и у этого нового голос почти как у него
Who the crap is that freak singing! That must be Jon Anderson after going through a Doritos Time machine in some kids front lawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry....but nothing special about this.....unlike the way Rabin's style can rock the place down - as he did throughout the 1984 tour ....especially the ending. Howe cannot play in the way Rabin does.....but I know for sure who I would like to see and hear the most.......especially now with Wakeman......can't wait
Weak and rather feeble Howe trying to play this song...it is a pity really,,,,,,because Rabin's playing of this song and the ending of Starship Trooper, in particular, always leaves Howe behind -------playing rather odd lead guitar ......in sheer power and getting audience participation---Rabin wins easily as the 1984 concerts shows so very clearly....check for yourself. How I hate this Anderson clone...with his girly like voice....God almighty...the ARW shows will blow this flaccid pile of turge off the stage...
Trevor Rabin wrote this while he was taking a dump, as he attested on Yesyears.......Trevor Horn can share half the blame in this atrocity . Steve Howe hates this song....so does just about everyone else
yeah, everyone hates it. that must be why it was in the top 20 in about 10 countries and is their biggest hit. Im a hardcore fan of all of their stuff. I have all 21 albums and I miss Anderson as much as the next guy and Southside of the Sky is probably my fave song by them, but facts are facts.
if it wasn't for this song I very much doubt that Yes would still be here today... Trevor Rabins 'commercial' writing ability and Trevor Horns producing made this song a hit - no one can deny that. it's a shame that Jon is no longer with the group - his voice really made Yes
