This was the first stage drama of umer shareef which I watched in October 1987 on VHS when I was on a 2 weeks visit to Pakistan. I didn't knew about him but the very next year his drama bakra qiston pay was released and watched in kuwait and I recognized that this is the same guy whom I have watched last year in yes sir eid no sir eid.
This drama is one of my fav, all the characters of this drama is super talented, especially the bald man in red coat is mind blowing, accept the king of comedy the matchless umer sheriff, ha haa haaaaaaaaa

Yeh ehlfaaz hum istemaal to kar dete hain k esa shakhs dobara paida nhi ho sakta jab k yeh Naouzobillah Allah ko challenge karne waali baat hai kunke Umer Bhai ko bhi Allah ne banaya or agr Allah chahe to dobara bhi Umer Bhai jesa koi aa sakta hai

Actually no, it's been like that ever since. Social Media made it more clear people lacked values though, with increased access. Although arguably, people then did not have the guts to call others out for their wrong because of archaic "moral values" (which really had nothing to do with morality but power dynamics). I'm glad people can call BS from the supposedly 'respected' people.
