This song, these lyrics: Soon, oh soon the light Pass within and soothe this endless night And wait here for you Our reason to be here Soon, oh soon the time All we move to gain will reach and calm Our heart is open Our reason to be here Long ago, set into rhyme Soon, oh soon the light Ours to shape for all time, ours the right The sun will lead us Our reason to be here How incredibly perfect this is...a melodic meditation to sing each day. Let's sing this each... as our reason to be here becomes clearer each day. So much love!! #MusicIsLoveLoveIsMusic
I remember sitting in my bedroom and hearing this for the very first time, it literally took my breathe away. It was so hauntingly beautiful. RIP Alan and Chris.
I had the vinyl, which I played on repeat in my teenage bedroom. The work of Jon Anderson and his co-artists has left an indelible mark on my soul, to this day!! Harmonious sound, beautiful enough to make you cry. 💕💕
This is beyond words, beyond voices, beyond instruments and beyond the endless time, when we enter the next level, this is the gate, this is the love that embrace us. Thank you Jon Anderson for the inspiring voice and words and Steve Howe for the breathtaking pedal steel guitar
I have been following and listening to Yes since RoundAbout hit the radio and I have never experienced such wonderous musik and been transported to many different, wonderful worlds and environments that could have only existed somewhere in our distant past. I am of the opinion that Jon's talent and writing musik began in The First World and granted by Those Gods of our forebearers, allow those of us who know the singing within our blood, grants us glimpses and remembrances of when we once were part of The First World. None other than Yes or Jon Anderson have been able to come close to envisioning the ethereal wonders found in what once was our home many Epochs and ancient ages long forgotten. My two most favourite songs which overwhelm me when I hear then are This one, Soon and Wonderous Stories. May you ever be Blessed by The Ancient Gods Jon, and your place assured when you are called back home. I will forever be blessed by your and also Yes's musik, that will always be appreciated and alive within my soul. Blessed Be to you and yours.
This takes me back to the day I bought the album and headed back to my bedroom to listen to it. I remember the feeling when this came on. Spine tingling magic. Lpr Tim xx
christ.....i have just listened to this and the tears were running.....grew up with this band in the early 70's and have seen them many many times live....such memories
This song has reached and touched so many people over the years, each having their own personal experiences, I've seen that many want it to be played at their funeral. It certainly does speak of another world.
Stop it you lot!! I thought I had it all worked out for my funeral celebration but you keep adding in so many beautiful alternatives! Turn of the Century, Onward, Soon, I Get Up I Get Down. One thing's for certain..it's gonna be a bloody long service!!
Hearing this always transports me to that unforgettable evening of 23 August 1975, when, in torrential rain at Reading Festival, Yes with Patrick Moraz played 'The Gates of Delirium', and as the chaos of war finally resolved into the soothing peace of 'Soon', although I was sopping wet and shivering cold, every cell of my body and brain was bathed in warm, golden, blissful light.
Anderson and Howe, the true soul of Yes, in my opinion. This excerpt, along with "Turn of the Century" and "Awaken" are the reason why I love (the old) Yes....For a few minutes, they make me believe in God
So beautiful, always inspiring me, like a faithful brother🌹🥰🎸Much love, to you and all those in an ever-growing circle around and about you. Sincere gratitude🧬🗡"IT IS THE WAY"🛡
There are no words or deeds to thank you Mr Anderson for bringing the light to the life of a poor kid 14 years old looking into music for a way out to personal sadness...beauty change lives but only when there's light inside...You did teach me that Mr Anderson...and, I guess, to all those before me writing in these place about their personal experience with the piece, the same
I love Music, always. But if, for some reason, I had to choose just one song, it would be Soon! Pure genious! So profound and so majestic, a Masterpiece! Thank you, Jon Anderson and Yes!!
Gates of Delirium is my 2nd or 3rd favorite YES song with Awaken my favorite. I listen to the Gatwick remaster for Atlantic (it is an imperative to listen to one of the remastered versions as Offord rather botched it though I still loved that version at the time) at least twice a week (Still! Seriously!). Why wouldn't I? Towards the end of the 'battle scene' it goes quiet and Patrick is quietly, slowly doing chord transitions and at the very end Alan taps the gong. That is the end of it, heaven has been touched - war is over and it is so magical just writing about it raises goosebumps for this song is such an incredible, beautiful, wondrous force. And then Jon starts singing us a prayer for love, which is Soon. Jon, thank you for this and so many other spiritual experiences. I love you and the entire Yes community, that includes your fans everywhere.
certainly one of the most wonderful songs I heard over my 50 years of age !!!! thanks for this today. You can't imagine how good it made me hear it again.
I was fortunate to see Yes perform this song live back in the early spring of '75 in Iowa City, IA. In the many years since, I must have listened to this song more than 200 times. The song remains as emotional, beautiful and perfect this evening as it has always been...
Soon, oh soon the light Pass within and soothe this endless night And wait here for you Our reason to be here Soon, oh soon the time All we move to gain will reach and calm Our heart is open Our reason to be here Long ago, set into rhyme Soon, oh soon the light Ours to shape for all time, ours the right The sun will lead us Our reason to be here
Yes, músicas absolutamente soberbias, Jon Anderson y su voz angelical y única, cuantos recuerdos me traen. Indiscutible talento creativo.

Eu amo a minha vida e o planeta gaia e tudo e todos ! 🎉
I was just a small kid when I first heard this song...it caused a deep impact on my life for some reason. I never take this song from the back of my mind.
