It was rock orchestra and this band was on a higher plane than all the rest. The sad thing was most all of us guys could not sing along with Jon and his perfect pitch and octave or two higher. 🤟. I was in high school the first time I was introduced to Yes. A couple of the older guys were talking about Close to the Edge having just been released. I bought the album in 72 and have been hooked since. I saw Yes maybe 12 times in my life and still feel they were special. It seems year after year we waited for the next album. We even decided if someone had a chance at being a friend by whether they were a Yes fan. Odd, but you needed that much of a link as some people no matter what could never get Yes.

I've only seen YES once since Anderson had to cancel due to medical reasons in 2008. It was good but it wasn't the same with Anderson gone from the band. Prior to that, I'd seen them in concert every single year, dating back to 1978. So I've seen them 30 years in a row, and then once in the past decade. Won't ever be the same without Chris Squire so I'll just have to live with the memories and videos now.

*Close to the Edge* was the very first music that I played in my 1968 VW Bug, in 1972 right after I bought the ... get this ... 8-Track! My car stereo improved over time, while the music of YES remains at the top of my listening pleasure. I still own and play the original Half Speed Master album, from Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs, on my turntable. Ear Heaven! My brother, eight years younger than I am, heard me playing YES one day when he was 13. He became a lifelong fan of YES music on that day and it has influenced his music, ever since. Good times.

LOTS OF ROCK AND ESPECIALLY NEW WAVE MUSIC IS FILLED WITH SUBLIMINAL MESSAGES AND PROPHECY FROM GOD/CHRIST AIMED AT THE DEVIL AND THE FALLEN ANGELS AND ALL WHO FOLLOW THEM. BLACK SABBATH'S "WAR PIGS" IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF GOD/CHRIST'S WORK. THIS SONG AND THE MANNER OF WHICH IT IS WRITTEN IN, SCREAMS THE ALMIGHTY GOD WHO IS CHRIST. Acts 2:17-21 New King James Version (NKJV) 17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. 18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. 19 I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. 21 And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved.’

Yes he is. He's one of my all time favorite guitarists (I'm a guitarist myself, but nowhere near that level). I prefer Steve over Santana, Van Halen, Malmsteen and many others just because he's so incredibly damn versatile. Rock, classical, country, bluegrass, just about anything he can play as if it were the only style he knows. I saw them on tour around the time this was recorded, in San Jose's Center for the Performing Arts. It's not a typical venue for rock bands, but the sound and show were incredible. The guys were showing their age then and that was more than a dozen years ago. Steve would try a few jumping kicks like he did in the old day and we thought he was going to fall and break a hip. I counted 24 different stringed instruments that Steve Howe played during the concert. Up to 3 on a song. He started with one clamped on a stand, switched to one he had strapped on and then a crew member tossed him another. And he played them all with the wonderful style and precision for which he's famous.

That voice hasn't changed - first saw them in the mid-seventies and thirty years later. Fantastic experience, their music is transcending.

Awesome!!! One of the best bands of our time period. When yes first came out their live Shows were really spell binding. They were really a band whos live shows defined them with such a very high degree of muscianship from all members. Yes will always be a bands BAND!!!!!!!
