Just 2 minutes in... my grandfather told each of his three sons as they came of age to begin their working careers to "always do a little more than what the boss expects" and they all succeeded in life.
Wish my grandfather was like that. My grandpa lived with us for a while and had no interest in me or anything i did. Kept his tool boxes locked and told me not to touch them. I asked him to help me with my bicycle, to maybe borrow a wrench or screwdriver but he was too miserable recovering from drinking alcohol the night before. Always drank too much, he got in trouble, mom kicked him out and i busted the lock off his tool box and started my tool collection. 🔧
@@jirusjirus9322 I understand your pain and frustration, several of have a sad and similar family life, I hope you are doing well making better and more positive choices and able to see the difference you have given to those around you. May you be richly blessed! 🙏
I was at my friends log yard last week, and when i was done, i found a few rounds. That were not split yet, and whoever was splitting them was having a hard time finishing them. Since i had my splitter, i spent a few minutes and split them for the guy and left them for him. Hopefully, he appreciates it..😁👍
A smile is reward enough. Warms your heart, what a good feeling 😊❤️ Shovelled snow today and did the neighbors sidewalk as well. It kept me warm and my back got some much-needed exercise in the process. I don't even see it as a favor to them 👍🏻 😊
I Love the D Brothers - grew up on them! Keep preaching it Billy Ray - Good Work never hurt anybody - actually - hands in pockets hurts more than hands in dirt! Lowell
Maybe one of these days, I'll get one to fall that accurate. Love what you do. Young ones listen to what he says, and the world you build will be better place for everyone . God bless you all.
❤ you expressed a Billy Ray of light within this very video for me. Glad you had a good time at the show! I saw Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives this past Friday and it was a wonderful show. Love wins to you and yours.
Billy Ray of light... love it ! My father was in the CCC's Civilian Conservation Corps Cutting fire trails and stream reclamation, dredging and reinforcing banks of tributaries to the river. I was too small to help, but as we know, youngsters can help with physical labor. Sometimes being the smallest has it's advantages. ✅
Gotta say that the gentleman who you're doing this for is an example of what you led this video with! He never sat still...clearing brush, loading logs. And by the way... great shot there bud!!
Nice shot! I dropped 3 57 footers two weeks ago, got 2 out of 3. The third was leaning backwards, and I had a rope and tension on it, but it went to the side about 5 feet. All cleaned up, no damages. Working in my yard and garden.
yeah I had a 20's something working with us once and he almost always had his hands in his pockets and I told him...I wish I knew what he had in there because I wanted some too...and it went right over his head, clueless. You have said this countless times but it's always true and/or accurate. Your work ethic indicates who you really are. That is an absolute fact. Thanks Buckin'
Buckin', was away for a minute and amazing to come back and see just how strong the buckin army is. What a group! Really fantastic message that you're spreading. Share the love.
And that is what u call right on the money. Love cutting trees when things go as planned... I just Finnish cutting my firewood for the winter season of dry pine 30cords and birch 8cords, so I should more than enough to get true
Woodpecker condo, haha, I like that 😄 Listening to you explain your thoughts is so interesting and entertaining. You're the best teacher, in my book 👌🏻😊🌲🌳❤️
Absolutely amazing Buckin that is excellence in execution at its best man I wish you could come to New Hampshire and drop some bull pine at my place nice work my friend!!!!
Just finished my custom woodshed yesterday and now I have to work all week🤮 Watching this excited for the weekend to stack what I already have split and split what I already have bucked and buck what I already have down Did a full clean on my ms291 and it is no Pavarotti but sounds good to me👍🏻
Hot dawg Buckin! That was a heck of a shot!! Nice job laying that down brother😊 making short work of that for sure! Great content yet again! ...still workin on that video😂😂😂
Good advice doesn’t matter what you’re job is making the job easier for your fellow workers will keep you employed. Worked for me and I’m retired. Also find a need and fill it. That’s the entrepreneur motto, but if you see a need where you work and you can fill it with your talents or get the training and provide the help this will be appreciated by your colleagues and your boss.
Just want to say I stumbled across your channel when learning to cut tress down on my property zero experience. Great awsome channel with alot to learn and love the positivity.
Got to enjoy the downtime, it's a must. People are too busy in there own little worlds. Love, respect, trust and relaxation are key. Have a great day all!
Thanks for saying something about finding something to do on the job. I'm technically one of the young guys still at 28 years old but I try to tell these guys that are 19-24 years old all the time that they can't be standin' around on their phone just because they're waiting on something to happen that will allow them to do their main job. I got out of the lumber business about two years ago after my mill went under but it applies to all jobs. Hell, you can use a shop broom with one hand if looking at your phone is that important to you. Just. Do. Something. Cleaning up is the easiest side job on any site and it's also the most important side job anyway. It creates a safe environment to work in since you're clearing trip hazards and when you're in the woods, it's most important because it's the best job for keeping an eye out for fires. Specially when you're out there with the guys that smoke cigarettes. Gosh I know they try their hardest to not create fires with their cigarettes but it does happen. If you're the new guy, and you're especially new to the work... find one of the more knowledgeable guys who are also doing side work and ask them to teach you something! There's always something new to learn and learning something hands on makes the time pass by really fast too. And on the topic of passing time faster... I know first hand from my newbie days in the work force that standing around may make your day easier but it also makes it longer. If you keep finding something to do, you're day just flies by and before you know it; your ten hour day feels like a four hour day because you were just so busy. I don't know how these young guys do it with making their day stretch so long by not doing anything. Everyone complains about working long hours until their shift feels short.
hey buckin, down here in nl we dont have big trees like you guys do, we comminly have anywhere from 12-14" fur. Just wondering if you could show how to wedge a tree in the opposite direction of its lean, when you dont have a lot of room to put wedges in, cheers!
Gday What length of bar and type of chain are you using here I assume that you are cutting soft wood and not iron bark or hickory like we have here on the farm a lot. And thanks for another great video
Exactly I hired a kid to help me out with my firewood business and gee every time I turn around and he's on the phone or playing with the dogs. And yeah you can say hey by the way prep the wood ready for the splitter etcetera etcetera so when I come back we just keep going exactly what you're saying Billy or playing with the damn what is with kids these days they don't seem to care
Working in the wood and training, the youth of the day it was hard work, showing them safety and falling even saw work its hard work, but that falling worked and it good to see it happen but still hard safe work😮
My dad told me a story, back in the 60's the printing company he worked for as a fork lift operator went union, Lithographers of America Local 1. His job as a paper handler was to unload trucks and trains of giant rolls of paper and to feed the printing presses with the rolls of paper they would need for theb8 hour shift. One day he unloaded a train and feed all the presses in about 2 hours. He then started to push a broom cleaning up the loading dock. What a ruckus ensued with the shop steward and general workers because he was doing their job. His foreman told him he can't do that, just unload paper and move rolls to the presses. My dad said what am I going to do for 6 hours, no more deliveries are scheduled and the presses are full fir the shift? He was told that is why paper handlers have an office. To wait if he's needed to move rolls. He would joke that America is a great place. Work for 2 hours and get paid for 8. Fast forward 25 years, his factory closed when he was 62 and he and all the other paper handlers retired because contract agreements with employers had done away with paper handlers and given the duties to general workers because paper handlers made to much money.
I've used everything from paint thinner to gasoline... stuff is strong sticky stuff. Actually threw away closes that were so covered that washing them would probably break my washing machine. Now i wear disposable gloves and very old clothes as coveralls so i can throw them away when there is too much gooey/sticky/ pine pitch. Pitch the pitch gloves on a fire and watch them blaze. 🔥
Hey, everybody, how are you? I hope everybody is well. Its a sad world. We're living in right now, scary. It's not good, maybe we all could pray for peace. Love, happiness, kindness, and we will get through these hard times I hope it doesn't get harder with these wars that are going on, it is very scary. Pray, please, God will glide us through this. God bless everybody.
The best thing to do, I find, is to not watch the news at all and concentrate on my family and the immediate world outside my door step. Worrying doesn't change things one bit, so don't spend too much energy on it. What we can do, is to improve things that happen around us. Every little bit helps 😊❤️
@@Helga____ Thank you so very much. Yeah, I need to stop watching and listening to what's going on in the world cuz I think it gets into my head and a bother's me bad thank you, god bless.
@@br-dj2ti i watch local, national, and world news almost everyday... engrained from my parents... Quite often it is overwhelming and depressing... focusing on things we can touch with our hands is therapeutic. Been praying since i was old enough to pray, hasn't really made anything better or worse but i still do it. 🙏 Praying for rain during a drought or praying for peace during war and conflict probably helps me cope with severe anxiety and depression. I consider myself blessed and lucky. 🍀
@jirusjirus9322 Yeah, I pray all the time as well. It really does help me, it's just. I'm tired of the people suffering over what the government's due. It's not fair I don't know how they get away with this. It's so sad but god is with us and god will guide us 🙏
You have probably left that job and off to another, but at 8:53 when you panned up to look at the trees you saved, it looked like a good size branch hanging up in the smaller trees above work area, just a observation
