Yeah I coded it into my mk6 Jetta😂 it’s nice for the summer time or when I forget to close my sunroof I can use my key to do it rather than going outside and doing it
@@lukasshort3618How do you do that? Does it require a vag-com or something? I’ve got a Mk6 and am tired of having to put my key in the door lock to roll all the windows down from the outside.
Although there's pros, there's also cons for this feature. My key fob fell into water, although I tried to dry it. The next morning I found my vw car windows rolled down and sun roof tilted open.🤔
Or if you live in Pacific North West and parks your car outside. It rains here a lot and while I was trying to tie my shoes and my keyfob in my pocket got jammed inside and accidentally started opening my windows and moon (sun) roof. Good thing it was just very light sprinkles so I quickly went to my car after seeing everything open up. I turned it off in my car setting after that. I have a 24 honda civic sport touring😂
I thought I'd try this on my 2024 Seat Ibiza FR seeing as it is essentially just a Polo underneath and, lo and behold, it does it! Nifty little feature!
Not every car has this feature. Some Kia's don't have it at all whilst the Kia Optima had it up and down, Hyundai don't have it, Alot of Japanese cars don't have this feature. Also some Peugeot, Citroen and Renault cars you can only wind them up but not down. The Peugeot 508 you can do up and down.
my honda accord did this too and im pretty sure my 1st car (toyota 4runner) had this feature as well which was a big deal just having power windows ...1998 🥴 i will say i didnt know i had that feature for a good while back then though
And if yoy turn on comfort remote control using VCDS or obdeleven do you dont have to press and hold all the way upon locking/closing just hold it until you see windows rolling up and release it the windows and sunroof will keep closing
My new Mazda3 hatch does this and i cross shopped and looked at the GTI but the audio and climate "sliders" put me off. I also prefer the Mazda key because your can get painted key shells or leather or carbon fiber, and it feels really premium.
I tried this on my MK7 2017, and nothing lol. Had to try though. Just learned on North American cars it is disabled, and needs to be reenabled to work.
Our old accord had this feature. The key was in my wife’s purse one day when we were at a store and it was raining. We came out to our car with all windows and sunroof open and the interior was completely soaked. Apparently something in her purse had pressed on the unlock button long enough for it to trigger the feature. Bad luck lol
I had an Audi that did that and one day I came down after a night away with it parked on the street to find all the windows open. Clearly a butt press. But a stupid pointless feature.
Mate all German cars have that technology since the late 80’s and early 90’s. S class Merk since the 70’s and you’re talking about it in 2024? German engineering
Yes it’s not a new thing, plenty non GTI VW’s have also had this feature for many years. Check this out also - depress and hold the drivers door window switch after unlocking you have the same result, conversely if you hold the drivers window switch in the up position all windows will close. It’s a VW thing.
I can do this plus turning the engine and ac on from miles away with a phone, but then again not so useful, except for the ac, pretty good when parked outside and its hot so you can turn it on while you walk to the car
Back in the days when i had an audi a3, i slept couple of times with my keys in my pocket and didnt knew how my windows went open from a distance. Now i know haha so never sleep with your keys in the pocket!
Because of this feature the windows opened as i accidentally sat on the keys and while it was pouring monsoon outside. The amount of water getting inside ruined the car as it never got rid of the humidity
