Is there a way that I can get my work history? I have had some of the jobs in the past that I don’t exactly remember the dates where I worked for the company. How can I find the exact dates of my employment in a particular company that I worked for in the past?
@@skiptheboxingkangaroo Yeah people that have bad credit are all thieves, and will steal company secrets. Do you know how ignorant you sound with that statement you just made?
False. If your credit is bad and you're in debt, you're more likely to steal from a company, especially if there's money involved. It's also a indicator of how responsible you are paying your debts off and as a result, how likely you are to be a responsible employee.
1. Does an apprenticeship show up on work background when an employer checks your work background? 2. Should I take my resume to a job interview? What about a letter of recommendation?
1. Not sure, was it paid? If its paid then it would have more impact that an unpaid one. 2. Yes, be prepared, wear nice clothes that are clean and not wrinkled. Comb your hair. Think of some questions to ask the person interviewing you.
@@TexasConsumerLaw Hello, thank you for answering! 1. Yes, aren’t all apprenticeships supposed to be paid? But it only lasted a month (15 days in that month) 2. What if it’s a online interview? How should I bring attention to a letter of recommendation then?
@@kindree5414 1. Not sure. If its paid the there may be some activity that is picked up by the background check/ credit reporting company. If its a volunteer thing then probably not. 2. Online, have it ready to email or screen share.
I’m a college student who just accepted an offer for a pretty good company. Unfortunately after calling my HR managers from past jobs, I realized the dates I put on my resume are at the most 3 weeks to a month off from what I actually worked. It was an honest mistake as when I created my resume I was estimating to the best of my abilities when I worked. Would this be an issue? And if should I inform my hiring manager about the mistake?
I did that also, hard to remember date’s exactly when it’s 5 plus years ago, I don’t stress it tho because the places and years and months are correct .maybe a few weeks off but I still worked there…it can be verified
I had applied for a job they interviewed me and after they offered me a position they started the background check, I had to complete some forms for the background check when I realized dates on my resume were off by about a year, i immediately fixed my resume and sent the proper dates for the background forms and sent my updated resume to the employer with an apology. I’m waiting for the results to come back, but really hope I don’t get denied the job for the mixed up dates.
This hospital in Massachusetts said they can go back 20 years. They have special permission from the Commonwealth executive of criminal Justice. I didn’t have any drug charges just an assault in battery with a dangerous weapon. I was 18 got into a fight with my sister. I threw a water bottle at her, I guess that was considered a dangerous weapon. It was a little fight. Nothing happened. And it happened more than 12 years ago and they asked me about it.
That's a shame. As far as I'm aware only California passed a law before the federal law was amended. It's the only place that limits how far back a background check can go. Unfortunately, a conviction will follow you around for ever.
I dont understand how they can check your exact dates of employment, does someone call the employer, is it a database thing? seems hard to get accurate data
Can the dates of employment make you lost a job? I didn't disclose to be laidoff and I got an offer less than 2 month from that. Position, company, etc all its ok except that. Thanks
It depends. If you worked somewhere for a month or two and claims you worked there for a year or two then that would probably disqualify you. If you worked somewhere for a while and are off by a month, then it's probably not a big deal.
very interesting info! when they run a Background Check usually which bureaus or companies do they use to get that info besided of experian, transunion or equifax?
I am applying for banking positions, and I have a credit score of 580 since I have to stop working due to a work authorization visa. I am 25 years old. How do you see my case? Missed couple of payments for a period of 4 years.
If you’ve worked somewhere for a number of years, leave for less than 6 months, and return…and show straight thru on resume. Is that an issue or in the background check?
I was offered a position at a bank. Would a juvenile felony that was never convicted, only adjudicated impact me? Aside from that my only adult conviction is a DWI and I heard that is ok
Juvenile criminal law is complicated and varries a lot from state to state. Generally, juvenile records should not follow you around. As far as the DWI goes, that's up to the employer.
My son was 15 when he got a reckless driving on his way home to feed dogs and never got another ticket he is now 19 and checker says he has a bad driving record he got his points back but for some reason the job he applied for won’t hire home because of this what can I do
I'm an engineer and on my resume I clearly say: " Engineering Work History". I then leave out lesser jobs like security guard, etc in periods of unemployment.. I also leave out companies I have started, that didn't pay(so no social security, etc will be detected), Will they fail me?
Usually a resume is not expected to contain the entire history. However, in the background check, they may ask you for details of all jobs, and it's better to be as honest as possible in this case.
hi i'm new on your channel and thank you for your informations that you provided. i need also an advice because recently i got laid off from my job due to sharing password of my acct so now whenever i try to apply to another job i'm always anxious about my background. what should i do?
Background checks usually show how long you were employed at a place. They usually do not show an exact reason you lost your job. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Depends on the employer. Some will ask for verification some won't. It usually depends if they are trying to verify your education, most background checks are limited to criminal history.
I applied for a dental corporation. They want to do a background check and I got a deferred dui 2 years ago. They didn't ask me ahead of time and my offer after the interview was through email. Should I tell them through email before I even make them waste money on background check or call them
Take the job if you can get it. Don't disqualify yourself in advance. If they ask, give them a good explanation. In the meantime talk to a criminal defense attorney in your area and start working on getting it expunged, sealed, or nondisclosed. Good luck!
June 7, 2023. June 7 is my beloved Grandmother's birthday. I will be jumping off the causeway bridge on that day. Many of you ignore me thinking I just want attention. That is not the case. I want a decent job with NO attention. I am now down to my last $1000. I have used my savings since December. As an autistic adult, I saved a considerable amount of money at my last job get me through an emergency. Autistic people on the higher functioning end are notorious for not keeping jobs for various reasons. In addition, I have an arrest in my background now, not a conviction, just an arrest. I have lived 60 years of my life without a criminal history. No, I do not do drugs, I do not steal, cheat, or lie. I do not go around beating up people or wielding weapons. I loved my mom more than anything else in the world and would have NEVER intentionally hurt her. I did need to protect myself when she attacked me not knowing who I am. This was intermittent. I have never struck her. I made sure NOT to injure her when she attacked. Well, the police arrested me after I protected myself and my mom had zero marks and denied being injured. The police hauled me off anyway. They said that I was guilty because I was anxious. Those who are a sole caretaker are not immune to anxiety. I just had my 4th offer rescinded. I have been terminated from 2 jobs because they ran background checks after I started. In addition, the state of Texas would not renew my Paramedic license. I still have a mortgage and a vehicle to maintain. I do not have cable, netflix or any other fun things and have sold some stuff to help make ends meet. I do not take vacations. I do not have family, they have all passed away. Life was good for awhile and it is no longer good. See ya!
@@Zestypanda No. It has been 8 months since I wrote this. I have lost my home of 24 years and on the street. There is no attention seeking here. Why would you say such a thing? I am struggling.
Since 9-11 the use of background checks have really boomed. Using the cheapest system, they will only ask for first and last name, and date of birth. The problem with that is my name is James Smith, which is statistically the number one most common name in America, according to every U.S. Census in the history of our nation. Because of this, I'm always flagged as a black male, in Southern Florida, currently serving 3 life sentences for armed robbery, drug trafficking, child endangerment, and a bunch of other charges. Any other information could reveal that I am not this person: my social security number, my middle name is Hanyu, my ethnicity is half Japanese/Caucasian, place of birth is New Orleans, no record of having ever lived in Southern Florida, the fact that I'm not still residing in a maximum security penitentiary to live out 3 life sentences.... I have to pay, every so often, to have my own Colorado Bureau of Investigation background check, which supercedes their cheap background check, just to prove that I have no criminal record. It's so frustrating.
I have question . In my resume my education was Masters but I fill in background check only Bachelors. But they didn’t ask me to verify my education. Can I fail it when the bg check is done?
I have a misdemeanor assault on my record. It's the only thing and unfortunately it's 6 months old. This company I'm doing on boarding with asked if I have a felony but never mentioned misdomenors so I said no. Do you think that will be an issue?
Not sure. Most background checks are for criminal history and credit. Some do education, but there are usually larger background check companies. Sterling, for example claims to do global searches.
@@TexasConsumerLaw ok, thank you! My degree is from Russia and the background company asked me to supply them with the paperwork I have (like copies of diploma and transcripts) However, still pending background check. Super nervous over this, taking into consideration the relationship between Russia and the US.
@@cookbook8959 yikes, that's tough. I would guess that they would expect you to provide all the proof in that situation. Good luck, let us know how it turns out.
What about those third party companys like Spokeo,BeenVerified,TruthFinder, etc. Those companys have me mixed with someone else with the same name. (Same first name and first last name as me- I have two last names) That Carson is about two years younger and lives 4 states away
They generally don't qualify as Credit reporting agencies. But this seems like a good reason to check your credit report and make sure that they are not mixed.
Does performance at previous company come under background check as software engineer. I have been in pip at amazon and cleared interview at another company in the meantime. Will anything happen during background check. Please tell.. I'm really worried and anxious
