Ana de Armas' little jolt of excitement after he's done playing breaks my heart as much as it frightens me to know that people out there can pretend so well
I wish this scene was kept in the movie. Not only is Anna's acting very convincing of being serenaded by one of the best songs ever written but it really explains Elle starting a relationship with Gavin later on the film. At this point, she feels like Jack just wrote this incredible love song for Roxanne right on the spot and she feels like she has no chance at him and they are in two different worlds. In reality, Jack did not write the song and was put on the spot and it was probably the first song to come to his head in a stressful situation.
It's so lovely that at 3:43 she slowly starts to smile while the songs gets to the chorus, I bet it was the same reaction most of the people who watched this scene had... This song is so good, and Himesh Patel did an amazing job performing it
For me it's those moments she stops smiling and forgets she's on live television, just listens. The other actress conveying what looks like legitimate turmoil/heartbreak when you know she's looking at the random homescreen of a laptop is pretty astounding to boot.
A *VERY* underrated movie about the music business. So many of the support characters ring true form the obnoxious manager (Kate McKinnon) to the others trying to "improve" the lyrics. What made me tear up was finding John Lennon as an older man, still alive, all alone, never having achieved what his alternative universe self did. The hug Haimish gave him was from all of us. Well worth the time if you haven't seen it.
Highly underwhelming, an amazing concept ruined by misunderstanding the original script as well as ruining it by making Ed Sheeran way more prominent than he had any right to be for a story about The Beatles.
@@ObsessiveGeek the story is about the absence of The Beatles, Ed Sheeran in a world without The Beatles might be greater than in our world, and in having Ed Sheeran being the stand-in for the best of the uninspired of music is telling. Ed Sheeran can't compete with the genius of Lennon/McCartney, and he is fully aware of this fact both in story and in the real world.
I believe I have watched this deleted scene more times then I have watched the movie. Movies like this don't come around very often so I am still grateful for the finished version.
The way Ana changes her facial expression with the progression of the song falling for Himesh 's voice and the wonderful melody of the Beatles ...it's an amazing scene......
Jamie Lancaster he’s not talking about the frame rate dude, he means the framing, it’s not the type of camera angles you’d see watching the actual show
Alexander Kouris Oops😮😇 my fault😃 I actually liked the way they framed it. My first LED large screen tv had the “soap opera effect” (which is a byproduct of the TV’s Motion enhancement features) permanently turned on & it made every movie look like crap.
This film affected me in a way I can’t explain.. I honestly wouldn’t want to live in a world without these songs. I find it astounding that people do reaction videos to songs from the Beatles they’ve never heard...would be like reacting to oxygen.
was watching this on Netflix a few weeks ago and my 6 y.o. daughter walked in and watched it w/ me, she now knows and sings several Beatles songs, her fave is Obladi...
I wish they put the whole songs in for some of them. It socks that they decided to shorten every song to just one verse and chorus. The shorter songs like Yesterday and Something should've just been full versions.
Studio Exec: "No, cut this scene out. We can't have a character sitting in bed and feeling something like jealousy or sadness. WE CAN'T!!!! IT WOULD BE MADNESS!!!!!"
The best moment in this movie is when he asked John Lennon : “ May I give you a hug? “ and did it. I watched this movie many times only because of this moment! If I would, if I only could ask John and Particularly George, May I? And do it, I would cry my soul out..... Love you guys! Stan.
@@paulbradley7728 not necessarily he hot album deals because of his time with beatles he got good cause of years with them when they started they were all actually pretty bad but got much much better by the time they were noticed. Further the same things that stoped them fro. Forming as a band may have stoped him from writing solo
Two fans filed a federal lawsuit on Friday alleging they were duped into renting the 2019 film “Yesterday” because Ana de Armas appeared in the trailer. De Armas was set to appear in the film but her scenes were later removed due to creative adjustments. (@Variety) 💀💀💀
When you hear Beatles songs buried among other Beatles songs, they still seem magical. But to hear/imagine the words and chords being put together instantly on the spot0, you can hear how awesome it all comes together to be unbelievably great!
Wow, they actually deleted that super beautiful scene? They must be NUTS! That would have created more tension in the movie script, with Eli clearly and UNDESTANDBLY upset, and with Jack having to explain to her his behaviour in that scene. More drama equals much more excitement for the movie fans among us. God bless us all.
Wait, she wouldn't be upset, se would clearly be jealous. She was very expressive in the end of this scene. She was jealus of what she could have had with Jack and how she missed the chance. I somehow dislike this character pretty much...
They should've kept this scene and kept the love triangle. Maybe just toned it down a bit and not make it so serious. They could've cut a lot of the Los Angeles scenes. I hated those the most, especially the scenes with that agent lady.
You simply don't cut out a scene with Ana De Armas in it. I don't care if it conflicted with the rest of the story, the writers should've done a better job to start with then.
"Jack Malik" did some very good renditions of those classics; the boy can certainly sing. He did very well justice to the songs; it was "believable" that he could be the writer of them
I still don’t understand how it’s possible that I’m the only one of my friends who loves this movie. And yes this scene should have been kept in the film.
This movie is just an homage to how powerful the Beatles songs are to unite people. Was teary eyed all the way through, knowing by how the scene rolled the song that was coming up.
You know all the extras in the audience are sitting there like they've never heard this before and singing along to the lyrics in their head while this is filming.
The ironic part is that George really struggled to come up with lyrics for this song. There’s a great (audio) of it, where he keeps saying, “…attracts me like…a…cauliflower…” John keeps encouraging him to stay with it.
2 things: 1. i saw this movie, not in the cinemas, but on a plane flight home from NZ to Australia...i COULD HAVE SWORN i saw this scene in that plane movie. 2. this movie had so much potential. there were moments that were incredible, this scene being one of them -- the other was towards the end, where a certain old man gives him sage advice. i teared up as soon as i saw him.
I have loved and followed Ana de Armas ever since her role in 'War Dogs'. She was stellar in this movie, so very natural. 'No Time To Die' - beyond words for her character. She will have a long shelf life in Hollywood.
If there were no other scenes to develop what happened between the two, then I expect it was more of a necessity. His character already has enough turmoil to deal with. A fleeting encounter this powerful and then no other reference would be an arc that snaps mid-way. In a more traditional rom-com sense, you would expects that after sparks fly, this Ana's character should have a bigger part in what is happening to him. Instinctively, when someone becomes famous, romantic circles widen and there would be this 'leaving the old life' aspect.. Think it was a right choice to not push the story in that direction. As a scene, it was nicely done.
Ana de Armas the best part, Even this scene could be the hook for more people to go see it. No se como la eleminaron graso erro, fue lo mejor y pudo se el trailer de la pelicula perfectamente.
@@theduchessoffashion5893 Amadeus has very little to share with the reality of Mozart and Salierri's relationship, as you probably know. Maybe the process of writing too?
Something in the way she moves Attracts me like no other lover Something in the way she woos me I don't want to leave her now You know I believe and how Somewhere in her smile she knows That I don't need no other lover Something in her style that shows me I don't want to leave her now You know I believe and how You're asking me will my love grow I don't know, I don't know You stick around, now it may show I don't know, I don't know Something in the way she knows And all I have to do is think of her Something in the things she shows me I don't want to leave her now You know I believe and how
Beautiful, it left me speechless!!. Great feeling in a scene that should have made it into the movie. And George's song is the most beautiful love song ever (Frank Sinatra said so!!)
I wasn't thrilled going to see that movie with a friend but I was hooked on the story until the end. That scene ought to be in the movie. Roky was a trip.
ALOT OF ROXANN commenting jack should sing something at pier hotel at wembley confess to world he JACK MALIK LOVE ROXANNand run away to CUBA WITH ROXANN KEPT THE DELETED SCENE ROXANN FAN WOULD YOU IT LOL
This scene was infinitely better than the scene they actually went with, where he dreams that McCartney and Ringo turn up and out him as a fraud, which is completely inconsequential.
I absolutely love Ana de Armas's facial expression! She had the absolute sweetest and most adorable smile! She jut has a natural beauty about her! 😍😍😍❤❤❤
It's the pin drop moment when he finishes and everyone is mesmerised. By 1. How incredible the song was and 2. He just winged it and took the piss by creating masterpiece in under a minute.
So much is lost from this small scene - Corden's great set up of "something... something... something", the tension of the "fans who know" making you ask when they're going to rat him out, Ana De Amas' flawless performance making you think she's on the edge of tears is amazing, and just the opposite of lessening Ellie's relationship , it actually makes her later rejection make even more sense. But despite this truly great loss, the finished project is still a work of genius for any Beatles fan.
They really made the movie a great disservice by removing this scene... This kind of "misunderstanding" would have made the Ellie Gavin thing a bit more understandable.
I felt like this was a mistake cutting this. While functionally is overlaps with the songwriting contest with Ed Sheeran, which is my guess why it got cut. First It removed context from the Lady that also knows the Beatles. This seems to be her introduction scene It makes more sense than theatrical cut her first appearance is just randomly looking across the street at Jack exiting Liverpool Airport. It furthers the emotional fallout between Ellie and Jack in a very believable way, like imagine the guy you like just made a moving song to a random woman, I would be envious at the minimum. Lastly idk what does the scene that replaced this do? best guess is to further Jack's anxiety about stealing the Beatles songs. But it doesn't really hit for me especially the hard cut to the next scene, we weren't given time to linger on it.
Agreed.. This is a better way to incorporate the song into the movie as well.. They still put the song in the movie, but this would’ve been a lot better.. Wouldn’t mind watching for some more minutes for this scene
I love Ana and i cant finish Something by the Beatles now without pulling up this video. Hits all of the right vibes. I love the Beatles, I love Ana, and I love this video.
