Thank you for that kind compliment, much appreciated. :) If you'd like to help out, you can *share* the videos you enjoy & put a nickel in my Patreon tip jar: patreon.com/trudbol :)
Couple things goin on here NPCDude...1st I think Julien tends to appeal more to pure vocalists. I've been a fan for years because I love his voice and song selection. I also like to sing along, and when I do, my voice tends to open up when singing with him (I'm an older guy--range isn't what it used to be). I think where he loses some points is that he generally doesn't arrange--so he's usually working barbershop pieces--not a lot of change to things heard or sung before. And you don't see him covering the current stuff all that often because those covers are often arranged by the people who perform them--often by ear. He also doesn't change dynamics a lot--so the pieces are usually forte...to check out one where he does, listen to his version of Signore Della Cime or even Guter Mond (neither of which will appeal to your average pop fan, but both are beautiful arrangements and performances). I totally agree though that he should be getting more attention and high-profile collabs. Julien was my introduction to youtube multitracking and is still one of the best out there if you like rich harmony and pure vocals.
***** If I may say, I've been a fan for about a year or so, give or take. Whenever I listen to your videos, I'm normally in a better mood, because of them. You're one of the best out there, in my opinion. Keep up your awesome work, Julien. I'll support you however I can. :D
I don't wanna be rude. He's indeed good but generation internet seems to have no idea how many great singers are actually out there without any reputation online. Maybe you should just start going to see choirs, theatres, operas etc. ;)
Happy Birthday John Lennon (October 9th 1940)! Thanks for *sharing* this video if you enjoyed it. Your comments are welcome, happy to hear your thoughts! If you'd like to help contribute to future projects: patreon.com/trudbol See you next week for more a cappella. :)
JULIAN! I discovered you when I was in the music man quartet for a school play and you helped us nail it!! This is one of my FAVORITE songs thank you so much for being such an inspiration man! Keep up the good work!
I actually share the same birthday as John Lennon so thanks for the awesome present Julien! I adore all of these Beatles barbershop covers that you do. Keep up the super fantastic work.
Gee thanks Tiffany. :) You can download my songs on BandCamp if you'd like: trudbol.bandcamp.com And if you want to encourage future creations (and win cool perks + request songs),: patreon.com/trudbol
James Taylor did a stage performance of 'Shower the People' with a reel-to-reel player covering the harmony. Perfect application for a '1 man quartet'!
I absolutely LOVE listening to this. BEAUTIFUL. I've been singing my whole life and attend college for vocal performance, and I can easily say the blend here is absolutely gorgeous. Love all your videos, keep it up!
Thanks Josh. :) If you'd like to tip the artist and help support future creations (and get freebies + request songs), you can do so on my Patreon fan page: patreon.com/trudbol
A fine job! You also bring a very classic style and finish in your delivery. It's something traditional, the vocal/choral sounds that were heavily done before the '50s. Thank you!
Why don't you also try Imagine,Julien? I'm pretty sure it would be magnificent! I mean, besides the other national anthems I've asked before (commented on the national anthem of Australia)! Can't wait for that! Greetings from Brazil, and keep at it!
This song reminds me to my lovely Mom who has died on 1997 in an accident. You cover it perfectly. Thx for this. Happy Ramadhan kareem. Your new fans from Indonesia is here 🇮🇩😎✌️
Avec plaisir, je trouve vraiment votre voix et vos arrangements exceptionnels ! J'espère pouvoir continuer à vous écouter encore longtemps :) (Et puis j'attends des covers de Dean Martin... )
I've been watching your videos for quite a while now, all excellent pieces, but i must say this one is one of my favourites, i sincerely hope you continue to post barbershop videos for a long time, congratulations! :) Greetings from Portugal!
Kann mich nicht genug von deinen Liedern bekommen hätte gern mal eine komplette CD von dir. Klasse Stimme! Vielleicht können wir gemeinsam mal etwas singen.
Great job Julien. Another beautiful blend of harmonies. I've heard this in 4 parts before, but yours is the absolute best. Thank you for the beautiful music
Muito show!!! Adoro música vocal e também curto muito o trabalho dos Beatles. Aliás os Beatles usavam e abusavam dos vocais em suas músicas. Um clássico desse cantado acapella então... Sensacional! Parabéns!
In my free time when I'm not working or at school I go strait to your page and just start listening to your music but what my friends dint understand is that I will just sing with out noticing it has that ever happened to you julien
That's nice to hear Caleb. :) And sure, I sing all the time without noticing, even when I'm invited for dinner with friends and we're talking. I hum all the time, can't help it.
Luc Stadler Awesome! Please send me an email and I'll be happy to provide you with a free set of learning tracks of your choosing, as a token of my appreciation. :)
***** Just recently got a new email address, but I don't want to let everyone watching this video to know it, is there any way I can send you a direct message or something?
Love your harmony. My father would have loved to hear this. Then he would have tried it himself, I am sure. I hope there is a heaven and he is looking down.
This is truly incredible. Your entire range is flawless. ... This makes me wish I had enough money to give, but sadly I don't. But I can give a complement :D Very well done! Keep up the good work!
Thank you, much appreciated. :) You know, you can donate as little as you want through Patreon, there's no minimum or enough. It's when a lot of people give a little that things work best: it's not too constraining for each person individually, and the artist has a sustainable source of revenue to continue.
Julien, this was the single best experience on RU-vid as of posting this because it's my favourite a cappella singer singing my favourite Beatles song! Next time could you do Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite?
