My Father played this song For me shortly before he passed away a year and a half ago. He cried and he confessed his awareness of how badly he treated my mother, his kids and friends throughout his life. I forgive him.

When I was in my early twenties, my mother would sing this song or listen to it and cry. I didn’t really understand her tears at the time. Now I am my mother. I’m writing this through my tears.

Whatever foolishness we did when we were young, we could always renew it and start a brand new life today by seeking God and have him in our heart ...

I have Glen Campbell’s autobiography. This has also been sung by Roy Clark but the words could be Glen’s life-the women, the drugs and drinking, multiple marriages and children, on and on. His parents and family were praying for him and in the end he came back to the Lord Jesus Christ. He was good friends with Alice Cooper, who also is a strong Christian. Though Alzheimer’s took its toll, he is in Heaven now with Jesus Christ and enjoys an existence that is by far greater than anything on this earth. For all time! Love this song, remember it well.
