Today we take a quick look at the Yeti Yonder water bottle. I go over some of the features, and compare it to what I have been using.

You'll have to do a follow up. I'm a long time Nalgene fan for their size and durability. Ive frozen them, poured boiling soup and drinks in them, and dropped them down mountains (literally tumbled 3 pitches down at the Red River Gorge). I do like how slick this Yeti looks, and I agree with all your points about the Nalgene. But it'll be awhile before the Nalgene can be topped imo

Mine never took that kind of beating. 🤣 It will be a while before I consider this one a "replacement" Nalgene has treated me good for years. But i'll definitely update if I end up not liking it.

Great video! I like that flat spot on it a lot. I like the nalgenes a lot but I agree with you on them. I find a lot of nice bottles at thrift stores, I'll have to watch for one of these.

Sometimes it’s the most simple things for me that cause me to use some gear the most. In my warped mind I figure that I buy bottled water at a gas station, or big box store about once every six months. That savings justifies spending a little more on a reusable one I’ll actually use more. haha.

I hope they add measurements. I do precisely track my water intake and would’ve loved if the bottle came with measurements on that flat side. That’s the only thing that keep me from buying it.

That would have been a good idea!

I think it's a great companion TO a Nalgene if you're an outdoorsy person. I'm finding that I hate using my Nalgene bottles on the go and at home for the reasons you listed - splashback, must use two hands to open, cup holder compatible, backpack compatible.. the Yonder seems to fill the "city life" water bottle segment well. The Yonder can stay awhile, but I'll never be without a Nalgene, that's for sure.

I think you are exactly right. Since I did the video I find myself using the Nalgene bottles at home I just keep them in the fridge, so I always have cold water when I’m working around the house but when I’m working out of the service vehicle it’s just easier to bring the yeti water bottle and one of the big yeti insulated jugs. Then I just fill up the yonder out of the jug throughout the day, works great because it fits in the cupholder and it’s easy to unscrew while driving.

These are only just available here in the UK! I got the sea foam 25 oz to start with, and I like it ! It came with the tether cap so I am looking to get the 34oz as these have the chug cap! I will have to wait and see how good they hold up, but I do like non insulated water bottles in the winter, and Yeti are my favourite brand ,and I've had a lot of others ! I think the yonder is going to be a winner if you don't mind single layer bottles?

I’ve really liked mine so far. I use it every single day that I work. I normally carry a double walled big yeti bottle that I pour into this one. So far it’s held up great. A few times It’s been so cold overnight that the water inside has froze solid. No cracks or anything.

Remember, there’s a tether cap accessory.

This one’s a miss, my lid warped from the sun in my car. I have cheaper bottles that I like better that haven’t warped.

I haven’t had that happen yet, but I definitely watch for it this summer. Mine sits inside my work truck all the time, but I haven’t tested it on the hottest days yet.

@@stevesgear it was still functional even with the warping. I like it other than the cosmetic damage to it.

Hi, thanks for reviewing this. I'm curious of compatibility of two different companys' lids, wide and normal. Can you use YETI's lid for Nalgene, and vice versa?
