YG TREASURE BOX EPISODE 5 REACTION 

Honestly it makes me sad whenever people say how biased YG is with Yedam as if he does not deserve the praise and the recognition. The boy has trained for years and has innate talent since he was young. He did not spend his whole childhood working hard for his dreams just to be looked as that. He deserves the respect and praise. If people think YG has bias, that is because Yedam is talented and he deserves to debut. That debut, btw, has long been overdue.

I don’t really think YG was “BIASED” tho. More like he favored those who had outstanding talents. you’ll see through the show that he favored Yedam and Haruto the most, also some other trainees as well. If you wanna consider YG being biased, sure, but there’re many reasons to support his bias so you can’t really blame him lol. Basically, YGTB was lowkey the show made for finding Yedam’s group mates since it’s for Yedam to finally make his debut. I once read YGE official letter years ago, before the show was even planned, it went like, after KPOP STAR, fans had been expecting Yedam’s debut for so long and were asking about Yedam’s debut after he joined YGE for years. YGE said Yedam was a precious “diamond” that YGE would do their best to make it shine brightly and the process would require some times. Anyway, most importantly, it’s simply just because Yedam’s THAT GOOD that YG himself, artists, producers and staff at YGE couldn’t help but favored and respected him🤷🏻‍♀️

The thing why YG chose Junghwan over hyunsuk is because yg wanted them(especially hyunsuk) to choose what they most confident of which is the rap. I think he was quite disappointed why he chose dance over rap. And besides if you watch all yg's survival show, he is very harsh to the trainee he thinks would have the best potential of all. He pressures them a lot until he will see all his potential. Like what he did to WINNER's Mino and iKON's B.I

YG NOT BIAS,, BUT HE RESPECT THE TALENT AND LOVE THE TALENT..

This was always gonna be "Yedam's group" (the group that Yedam debuts in). Fans had been expecting it for years. He was the main draw for this show because of his talent and prior fame. 😊

While everyone was sympathizing for Choi Hyunsuk because he didn't make it, I also felt bad for Junghwan. Yes, he won that time, but the only people who believed in him was himself and Yang Hyunsuk. Both of them did great, but what YG wanted was for them to focus on their main skill.. If only Hyunsuk chose rap, he would've more chances to win. Don't know. Yoonbin was also good.. but the point was, although Hyunsuk was multitalented, YG saw him as a rapper..

Lee Byoung Gon and Kim Seunghun are the member of Cix :) so they debuted together which I’m super happy for them

The "Love Yourself " performance is one of my all-time faves. They both did so well together.

I don’t think YG is biased with Yedam. Yedam is just really so good, talented, hardworking and with being the longest trainee and with much experience he stands out. It would be a shock if he is not chosen. Fans have always known that this survival show was made to find Yedam’s group mates and at the same time Yedam proved himself worthy.

YHS is a fan of effortless singing which was the reason for choosing Mahiho over Kim Seungheun. He is also known for having the best eye for talent that's why others may feel he is biased with some of the trainees throughout the show like Yedam, Haruto and Junghwan. Watching yg's survival shows for years since big bang and knowing how yg is especially the way big bang/2ne1 talks about him; I already know how he would judge and thinks... Yg during ygtb is actually quite tame because he was alot harsher with 2nd gen and w.i.n.....its always interesting watching people react to their first yg survival show lol

yoonbin and yoshi's performance were one of my favorites too, still sulking about how they cut it off tho. streets saying it's because of the female dancer but it was so amazing and full of swag. and i love their chemistry, (they're actually called "double y" in the predebut era.) since there is no full perf, you can only watch their fancam on yt and vlive.

YG has good eye for talent and famous for not praising the trainees too often. Only if that person really talented and under his list of member-to-be-debuted, he will keep mentioning the name. But his decision was not bias because he likes Hyun Suk but he voted for Jung Hwan to teach Hyun Suk a lesson to make sure he know what he is best at. He used to use alot of harsh words back then, his comment was better in Treasure Box. I think YG fans started with BigBang documentary will relate this more.

I also thought that hyunsuk did great but yg did good in choosing junghwan because he saw potential. maybe he was thinking: what if both of them trained the same amount of years?

Nah becus junghwan deserves that win. In hyunsuk's performance, he only had one highlight or good part (which was when everyone was so shocked) while junghwan was consistent with his. He executed the each details fairly well while hyunsuk was lazy with most of it. Hence the main producer applaud jh's strength. If hyunsuk wasn't known among the trainees especially for training longer and being a team A, they wouldnt have looked down on junghwan.

29:55 the line distribution is decided by the treasure tho, it is not up to YG. So logically, any treasure who does not want to lose to a challenger would not give advantageous parts to the other performer, but make it his. Hence, Junkyu had more parts than whoever would challenge him, and mashiho chose parts that showcased his vocals better.

YG wanted Hyunsuk to challenge Yoonbin or Haruto. Instead he challenged Junghwan. I think YG expected more from Hyunsuk, which was why he never made it into Treasure during the show.

you're wrong again, YG always picked junghwan. Because YG reserve the MAKNAE position for junghwan already. Junghwan really suits for that position. Like yg said, he has natural aura and his face always lights up no matter what, oh and his dancing skills are no jokes, even doing a freestyle dance.

It's so sad to look back but it's competition

as someone who has watched the program since the beginning what I hated the most was YG's way of choosing the best trainees( treasure 7 ).. Especially his dealings with Team A, I don't know how to explain it.. But Team A have trained for more than 4-10 years++they are already ready to debut. but the way YG just says things like (I don't see anything new from you) and treats them as if they were old items that have expired.. compared to the trainees who are young and trained for months, praising them all the time.. if that was the case from the beginning and he wanted young , handsome and new trainees then why would he make Team A Suffering all this? He could let them go to other companies so as not to waste their youth and heir confidence.. (( No Hate for the other trainees ))What pisses me off the most is that they all have a(( DREAM ))they all deserve to debut That's why I literally cheered all of them But YG was just playing with their dreams . // ++ He sends Junkyu, Hyunsuk and Byunggeon to Mixnine - Yedam to KPopStar and has kicked Jihoon out of the company and then brought him back while Seunghun was locked in his basement for 10 years without praising him even once In the end, they all just lost their confidence and thanks to YG.
