his ownly flaw was he cannot see the future when it comes to pieces of the soulking such as the arms that could have been extended to people like Uru and Ichigo they should have been his blindspot and the only two capable of defeating him but not in the bullshit way it happend.
My guess is the writer could have made it so the All Mighty always lead to a specific future he was attempting to avoid and that’s why he was so invested in changing the future, even going so far as to kill the Soul King. Make it so he realizes the only way to stop his rapidly approaching death is to seal himself away like the Soul King was. That way we get an explanation as to why the Soul King is trapped and inactive. If someone asks what future he was trying to avoid maybe he was attempting to avoid a future where the soul reapers throw off the universal balance or a future where Yamamoto, on his deathbed, loses control of his Bankai and destroys everything or even a future where Kenpachi’s successor is born with such raw power and animosity that it ends up killing everyone and everything
I remember someone made a point that the crucial habilities that were used to defeat the hability to change the future was Tsukishima and Aizen, basically the habilities to change the PAST and PRESENT. If no one explain this it really feels like a victory out of the ass lol But if this was at least mentioned it would have been cool
Yhwach is hypocritical tho. He claims he hates war but toys with his enemies, he wants a world with no death or life but will constantly let his soldiers die for the he’ll of it instead of taking action from the get go, he even knew uryu was gonna betray him but let him Stay because of overconfidence. He wants ichigo to join him yet screes with his emotions and tried to kill him. There’s more but yhwach is far from perfect.
...Yhwach literally dies because he doesn't value the quincy. Yama makes it clear he had a habit of sacrificing his subordinates and its this sacrificing of quincies that comes to bite him back in the form of the Ishidas and Ichigo. Not to mention his absolute desire to rule over all even got Aizen on his ass because he felt the world was horrible and needed to be returned to essentially primordial soup. Yhwachs weakness, in simple terms, is blindness to the threats that he himself creates. He who sees all can't see the consequences his actions create.
Did you even read it? The arrow didn't one shot him it's stun that disable all Yhwach's abilities for 1 second and Ichigo used his bankai to deal the final blow

I mean yhwach is basically a god and treats himself as such which explains his personality. And he doesnt absorb quincy abilities, all quincy abilities originate from him so he is essentially taking back what is his, he just absorbs the extra power gained from the quincys training kinda like narutos shadowclones.
Not all quincy abilities come from him. Quincies existed before Yhwach. All Quincies with a Shrift are subject to Yhwach's powers. In a flashback involving Baz B from the manga Yhwach states that there has been no Quincy born in the last 200 years since his own birth with the same powers as him. Quincy power most likely trace back to the soul King whom Yhwach refers to as his father. The Soul King despite his condition is the strong being in Bleach, though Yhwach is a close second. The Soul King literally held the different dimensions in their world together.

you misunderstood about the Ywach's power to absorb the dead Quincy's power. He doesn't earn the dead Quincy's powers like "The Visionary" from Gremmy etc etc. He takes from the dead the soul fragment he gave to the Sternritters by letting them drink his blood, which each soul fragment had a "letter". The quincys just earn a ability based on their backstory just like As Nodt's power, he feared the fact that he was on his deathbed and when Ywach gave him a fragment of his soul it took the form of a letter which is F the fear. But that doesn't taken away from the fact that Yhwach powers are broken.

Might Guy was already igniting the air with sheer speed and power back in 6th gate, creating devastating shockwaves and wind sheers in 7th, and warping space in 8th. The dude should have been Saitama. And that's just if Kishimoto was consistent with his world building and power scaling. Add in narrative and how taijutsu was Madara's weakness, and it's pretty clear he should have won. Better than Zetsu and same outcome

Guy would have hit what seemed like a force field like when Sakura tried to punch madara. Madara has techniques far more dangerous and distructive than night guy as well.

@@Vodahmien There are a couple retrospective instances that 'imply' Zangetsu is Yhwach in the early series. Using shadows to transport Ichigo into the Inner World, stopping Ichigo from bleeding without actually healing the wound like a Hollow would, Yhwach's name being blocked by the wird scratchy ink back at the start, Ichigo having a Zanpakuto without ever having an Asauchi, etc. What's clear is that Kubo wanted the Hollow to be the actual Zanpakuto. Whether or not Kubo actually had the idea that Fake-Zangetsu is representative of a Quincy form of the ultimate bad guy is more debatable. I personally think that Kubo wanted Old Man to be a different source of power, but not what that source should be. That's why all the Quincy abilities we see later are based on what Old Man could do, things we never see Uryuu do throughout the first arcs.
That not really a thing like something that could threaten the soul king was an obvious next villain. The Quincy’s were always the least fleshed out but most interesting concept left. The idea that there was more to exactly what old man Zangetsu is was floating around. Obviously it was rushed but it wasn’t completely out of nowhere.

Looks like it, yeah. Unlike before with the manga, Kubo has all the time in the world to get it done properly. Do remember that his own failing health coupled with Shonen Jump constantly railing his ass caused him to rush the ending of the manga. He won't have such handicaps this time.

This means that a large portion of the next two seasons will be comprised of original content. Or if we're being pessimistic, they're gonna drag out everything to unneccesary degrees like with the old Bleach but I highly doubt that.

I think you are wrong Yhwach does have a weakness, his weaknesses he reverts back to his childlike form if people don’t die for him to keep consuming. Or also the fact there have been rare instances where his powers doesn’t work against certain people throughout the Bleach story. Which at the end is where it leads to his downfall with a silver arrow.
He isn’t talking about a kryptonite that balances his powers he is talking about a personal or emotinal flaw that limits his powers or the way he uses them.

Honestly I don’t know if I fully agree. You don’t NEED to have an overpowered character have a flaw, so long as they are well written and executed. Ywach for the most part is incredibly well written and was executed very well, it was only when it came time to actually defeating him that there was an issue. Making Ywach as busted as he was in my eyes was completely fine, but they should’ve given the people who defeated him a proper way of defeating him. Not just “I have the instant win button” but actually develop a proper method of defeat. Ywach was fine without any flaws to his character, what mattered was the people defeating him not developing a proper method didn’t develop a proper method.
To be fair, it wasn't Kubo's fault because of his health problems and tight deadline schedules. He'll make some changes along with added anime content to just fix from his original work.
His defeat was pretty hard to take in, especially the arrow part but then again the arrow only made him vulnerable and the real killer was the "Old Zangetsu". His ability is to see and change all possible future which is broken until you connect the dots between Ichigo and Yhwach. The one thing that killed him was given by himself/his essence to Ichigo. Yhwach's shocked expression as he was cutdown show he did not see that future...but he did and that part of him that did remained loyal to Ichigo. Remember when Ichigo train to get his bankai. "Old man" never truly trained Ichigo to get his bankai. His exact word was "only one of this blade can defeat me" Think Avengers Endgame that one future scenario that they can win. We as readers thought that all those Zangetsus are fake but are they really or are they alternate versions of Zangetsu and only that "one" can defeat "him" Ichigo heavily relying on the "Old Man" made him weaker which led to his struggles which in turn allow him to build those bonds (friends/enemy alike) that would bring back that "Old Zangetsu" and defeat Yhwach. In a way the"Old Man" made sure Ichigo got the right sword which is important for the final fight as that exact sword is the only one that his allies knows and able to bring back.
Now you have a point and this just backup the fact that his ability is not only see and change the future but to negate any ability he see and make it his own, so to defeat yhwach you need very specific things working together (Zangetsu, ichigo's raw power, mimihagi, silver arrow)
I would say Yhwach' is power unfinished (rushed ending fault?) as all we have of his character is action without reason. What we are given is told too us by others or surface level one liners as we never see Yhwach suffer or worry about any of his problems or distaste of how the world is run.
I believe it's a misconception that Yhwach's sole aim, as stated in the anime, is the Soul King and the old Gotei 13. He achieved this during the first invasion, and the second invasion is for his own personal growth and advancement through absorbing dead Quincy. As Jugram states, Yhwach will live continuously by absorbing Quincy souls. He essentially allows them to die to gain power and waits for Squad Zero to open the gate. Those words seem to be just for hype, nothing more.
Wanna know a fun fact? Yhwach didn't even use any other hax than Almighty. He was casually dogwalking 2 strongest beings in the verse both at once with only Almighty. That was casually 30% from what Yhwach was actually able to do. Imagine if he pulled out Visionary, X Axis, Miracle, Fear, Intagibility, mimihagi's hax which is literally stopping any action in existence from progressing. Ayo.

Yup. If your character's can't overcome the challenges with their tools available to them & require outside assistance, then it's plot armor. The author is doing something to give them a chance because they can't succeed on their own. Think of it like wall hacks/clipping in an RPG to get to a treasure chest you should only have access to after beating the boss guarding it, grabbing the item & then fighting the boss.

(granted I understand there are other outside factors to consider like publisher rush, popularity ect ect.) That would be like saying, a boss can only be beaten if you get this DLC equipment. I mean, sure, it defeatable, but only if you get information not otherwise available from the original source. Otherwise, it's impossible to beat. It's the same thing with mystery novels ect. If the problem is not solvable for the audience/characters with the tools/skills on hand, it's a failure on the author, not the audience. Failures are fine, just be willing to acknowledge them.
I have no idea how he lost, since he has the ability of being immune to every ability he sees, AND HE CAN SEE EVERY FUTURE AND EVERY THING AT THE SAME TIME.
It was a series of events that directly counter Yhwach. Tsukishima can interfere with the past, creating a new series of futures that Yhwach hasn't seen yet. Uryuu has the Antithesis, which counters Almighty, which is why he was the only one able to fire the Ploaat Armor Arrow. Ichigo's power is implied to be some kind of fate rejection, hence the "give me a blade to shatter fate" quote from earlier in the series. Aizen was able to infect Yhwach before he used the Almighty, meaning Kyoka Suigetsu influence controlled everything Yhwach 'saw' including various futures. All the pieces were there for it to be a satisfying ending, but with so many elements crammed into the last chapters without proper time to build them up, it was turned into an asspull. It's worse when the key powers, such as Ichigo's Bankai ability were never directly revealed, so we just have to speculate. It's the one thing everybody is hoping the anime is going to work on developing.

The Almighty (seeing and altering the timelines as one sees fit) was purposely made to feel like a weakness against Kyoka Suigetsu. Altering the futures based on the false info provided by Aizen would precisely allow the latter to manipulate Ywach to choose a path in which he dies asap. Tite Kubo knew what he was doing.
I think the issue is more just the fact that Kubo was limited on the length of Bleach, so he didn't have the proper time to develop him enough. And more just curious here, but how is Aizen hypocritical?
I haven’t read the manga but I do know most of the stuff that happens around the end, with that being said, I personally think yhwach is overpowered done perfectly, and it fits his character as well, one of yhwachs main purposes was to install fear and hopelessness into the soul reapers, so him having the most broken powers and abilities is perfect for him (but like I said I haven’t read the manga and I’m mainly an anime only so my opinion on the matter definitely could change)

It took Tsukishima again ywatch should have prevent this ability from being used since its a huge counter as it creates something that cant be changed. Ichigo got a whole new bankai that can alter fate. It took all of this not only working on ywatch . The whole fight feels forced. Youd think hed have something to counter aizens shikai after preparing for yamato so much. Aizen was also one of the biggest threats. Overall it feels very convenient how he lost and still leaves me thinking how did you mess up this bad.
Lol yeah distilling despair and fear can be done right though. Made in heaven puccis a jojo part 6 villain had a despair situation where it felt almost impossible that hed lose . But was turned around due to several factors emporio has always shown he’s incredibly smart when it comes down to facts being that he has nothing other to do in jail. Weather reports stand disk and jolyne using a dolphin to make pucci unable to catch up since swimming against the speed up current is too tiring for him. Emporio managed to set up a trap on pucci using his own brothers power a event which he caused back on him. It all aligns with huh it makes sense nobody got a random power. Yet bro murdered the whole cast. How ywatch gets killed relies on so many factors that are improbable it feels the plot demands him dead. When you make a character too strong.

His downfall is actually one of the better parts of the ending of you understand what Ichigo was built up to be, ever since the Substitute Shinigami Arc Ichigo has had the ambition to change fate, so when Yhwach dreamt of Ichigo slashing him and killing him that wasn’t a dream, that was Ichigo manifesting his will to change the future, so when Yhwach tries to break Ichigo’s True Bankai a second time it only sheds its shell showing a sword identical to Ichigo’s original Shikai, the sword Yhwach was slashed with in his dream, that’s when Yhwach realizes that the Dream he had was a sign of his end that even The Almighty couldn’t change due to Ichigo’s will, I know it’s hard for a casual reader to uncover that, hell I had to re read the entire series to understand this part but when you put the pieces together it all makes sense, I just felt like a lot of people needed this explanation, hope it helps understand why Yhwach was killed that way

Even tho Kubo was on a due date this is a missed opportunity since Ywatch had every reason to be cocky and arrogant it should have got the better of him leading to his downfall at the hands of someone he didn’t thought he wouldn’t have to use his ability the almighty on
It was when he absorbed Mimihagi for me. The one chance they finally had some desperate power up, only for Yhwach to take it all off and added it to his already broken power
Someone like yhwach only lost because of ichigo and uryu, not because they were strong but the reason being that zangetsu real ability is fate shattering which is to remove stillness, mimihagi was absorbed by yhwach which represents stillness. Almighty exact counter is, as stated by jugram, antithesis which is with uryu , that's why yhwach could not see the arrow coming and that's why ichigo could cut him. Some may say , jugram was able to see future of uryu but uryu never used antithesis till then.
Yhwach had 2 major flaws. For 1 he didn’t agree that death should exist, he feared and ran from it causing him to not grow as a person. He was the same exact guy as 1,000 years ago, yet Ichigo and the others embracing and protecting death led to growth. CFYOW expands on this a bit more saying that if Yhwach succeeded then life would just be stagnent. His other flaw was even though he could see the future he was blind to everything that was really obvious. Couldn’t see that Uryu’s betrayal would actually affect him, that Ichigo wouldn’t fall to dispair, that hollows and soul reapers would team up, even the most obvious that Aizen’s shikai would work on him even after it did already
The almighty did kinda come out of thin air but because im a expert in Kubology, kubo mainly foreshadows things through what the characters say. For example: yhwach asks some fodder if he is a prophet and says that he cares about the present not the future and then blows head off. And he did predict where ichibei was gonna die during their fight. So there was buildup but just not enough. Imo anyway.
From what I remember there’s one time that Yhwach stated that there’s something in Uryu that might surpass even himself. So that’s maybe why he didn’t see the arrow coming because of Uryu power but yeah,that just my guess. the thing we can do now is to hope that anime is gonna expand on the ending.😢
He has one weakness ; In order to fight at his full power he had to rest . The vanden rihts' purpose was to protect him while he built up the nessary strength
Ironically after Yhwach died, he became the lynchpin which he sought to destroy, from his goal of collapsing the 3 world into one he ended up into something that is now holding 3 world separately
Yhwach works as more of a connection point, connecting him to d man zangetsu, the og 13, and explaining why ichigos mom actually died. He could have done better if Kubo changed his death
I hope in the anime we get a better context as to how Ywach gets defeated. Kubo didn't have enough time to flash that out in the manga (also the arc was like halfway but had to rush the ending because of deadline)
His downfall was set up very, _very_ early. When Uryu remembered his father operating on his mother after she had died. After that, Yhwwch didn't have a sliver of a chance.
Its his own idea of self perfection that caused his defeat he knew he could fall under aizens hypnosis and never considered that even with the almighty he could still be under it. Its his own belief of being unstoppable that caused his failure
U-Haul technically did have one major flaw in that was his fear if you listen to the speech he gave Ichigo when he was about to die it stated that he he felt Sympathy for the humans about how they have to live in fear of dying but in the bleach world we know that the afterlife exists which means that fear might be coming from himself especially since he is a Quincy in the natural weaknesses Hollows
I always seen his flaw was his hubris and how he believed himself truly all powerful. He has a vision of Ichigo cutting him with what looks to be his original shikai and he believes it to be a dream rather than an actual future, he then was sure that uryu would not betray him and even in the possible futures he seen he believed he would be able to defeat uryu. Also I don’t think the silver arrow killing yhawch as some people said as it was for shadowed in ichigos bankai training where zangetsu tells him that only the true zangetsu would be able to defeat him and Ichigo never did, he gained his respect through growing stronger and pushing his body in just 2 days. I think it’s honestly a good rise and fall
Never watched bleach, I just stumbled on this reel. That being said, my suggestion for a character like this would be making the powers they absorb steadily contribute toward their own increasing instability. They begin to lose their mental clarity and control, succumbing further and further to whatever their obsession is, likely amassing more power by killing more enemies for their power. This creates a flaw and exploitable weakness that grows as their power and sense of impending calamity grows as well. Seems like such a compelling character.
THANK YOU!! being able to choose to not lose because there is a future where the attack failed, with no downside or cooldown is hella-broken and unrealistic. i hate it when people defend this as being the necessary scaling to make the hero truly evolve.
Funny thing, we don't actually know if he was defeated, Yhwach promised Ichigo a death when he's going to be at his most peaceful if he came to duel, which he did, he might have let them win on purpose and will come back to kill him in the future. This could set up a story with Ichigo's kid and the downfall of soul society, kind of like a Boruto but done right. Idk, this is how I'd do it anyway.
I agree the final battle was just filled with a bunch of Deus ex Machina and plot armor. Aizen's ability somehow managed to trick Ywach to see Ichigo's future? Like, so you're saying Kyouka suigetsu can even trick future vision? And then that arrow that Uryuu received out of nowhere. Which was pretty much just introduced specifically to defeat Ywach. I don't even know if Uryuu actually used his ability-which was mentioned to be capable of countering Ywach. All I remember is Uryuu fired that special arrow that was practically made just to defeat Ywach Then there's Ichigo's bankai which wasn't special at all. Still the same power boost that's just that.
Hopefully the anime does this better with a more fleshed out fight since Kubo clearly had an idea with Aizen shikai and possible bankai being able to fool Yuha and Uryuu himself stated as sorta Yuha counter in general plus Ichigo having more fleshed powers
Think about it this way too. He had the Miracle and Visionary powers at the end and still died. Not to mention Yama’s bankai as far as we know. That’s such a ridiculous amount of power for one character and we’re not even talking about his Almighty. Therefore, a magical plot arrow that he probably should’ve seen coming helped kill him

He can CHANGE the future but he DIDN’T KNOW which future was the best future for his own survival. That “little glitch” was where Aizen’s Kyoka Suigetsu came to play, making him chose a “wrong future” where Ishida got a chance to shoot silver, disabling his A power briefly, opening a chance for Ichigo to slash Yhwach for good.
im nlt that far in the story but i think ppl misunderstand bleach and forgot alot of scenes maybe because of the fillers idk, but smh even if its not that much (which i think is also very great) there is foreshadowing and i love it, and idk man yhwach being the son of badically everything kinda makes sense that he is op
