Excellent update video here Michael and some good tips on the advantages and disadvantages of ground growing. One idea that uses the best of both worlds is to keep a tree in a container, but have it placed on soil. What will happen is roots will grow through the drainage holes and expand, thickening the trunks. Then once the time comes you can cut it free. In theory you should still have fine roots inside the container 🤞 Also that's true you don't see too many Hazel's as bonsai. As it just so happens I have two!
Thanks for taking the time to watch and respond. That’s good advice, I’ll take it on board. And I’m glad somebody else has had the foresight to use less popular species as Bonsai, I hope you keep us updated with how you’re getting on with your Hazel trees 👍🏽
