When you do your cost breakdown you should list a separate cost for how much money Shaun saved by doing a lot of the work himself. I'm sure it would be a boatload of cash saved.

Much as I like Nordhavn's I'm kinda glad I'm sticking with Sailboats for my Next Boat. Just different Headaches, but they're Headaches I'm Familiar with. New Hull designs help, with heel angles maxing at about 17 degrees, then you go faster. Interiors have come a long way too, bridging the gap with Catamarans but without that massive saloon, in which h I'd be like a Pinball stuck in a .pinball Machine. Which is fine for much younger people. Best Wishes. Bob. 👍🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇺🇲

Elizabeth I have to admit your “oohhh” when the pallet jack arm hit his head is exactly what my wife would say…although she’d add the blasted “are you ok”? I’ve learned to not answer with swear words and “what do you think?” …lol…I know filming for YT means editing and you surely could have left that out, It is nice to see we all are human and even is Shawn is a machine working on your boat he remembers your’re filming and probably says “ i knew that would happen but I was concentrating so hard at breaking that bolt loose I forgot it would swing back”…..’my own fault, no use swearing about it.”….now back at it!…….you guys are great to share your life and doggoes with us. Thanks and onward to the magical YT 100K subs….!!!

Just a note: the small nut is the one that goes on first to secure the prop. I had my prop come loose as a result of securing like you guys have on Freedom. It damaged my shaft as a result. $$$$$ It’s counterintuitive but the big nut works with the small nut to keep it from coming loose. Great watching deal replacement. As it will be on my list soon.

Yay... 26 yt Notifications today. Yours was first pick, of course. Elizabeth, funny story about "muscle memory" - the feeling that you're moving when you're actually on land. I had just went to Pt. Townsend on my friend's Peterson 42' sail boat for a wrap-around (4 days) weekend at the Port Townsend Jazz Festival - sleeping on the boat each night. We sailed back to Shilshole, G Dock. Heading back home to Kirkland, E-bound on 520. Police lights. Pulled over at 92nd. The officer asked me to step out of the car. Why are you wobbling? I just got off of a friend's yacht, and it's muscle memory... the ground was still moving. So... NO THE BOAT IS NOT MOVING. 🙃 Muscle memory. That's all. The reverse process holds, as well. When MV FREEDOM is back in the water, your muscles will feel a little extra dose of wobble until you get your sea legs back. Hang in there, sweetheart. This, too, shall pass. 👍 P.S. I got to sail from Mazatlan to PV for 2 weeks, 200 miles off the Coast of Mexico through The Isla Isabella.

Hi Shawn and Elizabeth, I've watched all your MV Freedom videos and one of the things I like about Freedom, is the unusual and fresh-looking green pinstripe on the water line. I know green is not generally acknowledged as being a nautical colour but, I think it makes your boat look a cut above the rest with their usual blue waterline stripes. Of course, I accept that I am completely wrong!

When you do part three and share the final costs, it would be cool to also know how much it would have cost to have the yard perform the work you guys did. I'm not sure I would have the patience that Sean has deal with stuff like the stabilizer seals (or propspeed painting) and am curious to know how much I would have to pay to get someone else to do that.

If I may say the lack of safety is quite concerning though, lack of head gear (hard hats) and some kind of boot wear , even half boots ( chucka boots) for safety. I keep hearing some call it a " boat", did you see the hull of that thing? How about that bridge? That's a ship ⚓. Coasty USCGC PONCHARTRAIN
