The king is weak and easily swayed but he has a kinder heart than almost anyone in this series. His never-ending attempts to install Haolan in his entourage, his chambers, his bed.... and the Queen's inevitable swoop in to head him off at the pass, absolutely slay me. In a show that is pretty dark these moments are all too rare gems of humor.
Princess Ya's obsession led her right to her true love and his immediate loss. She was evil most of the series but at the end of her story, I grieved for her and wished her the best on her way to Heaven.

The title is a bit of a tongue in cheek. The same actress, Wu Jin Yan, played Wei Ying Luo in Yanxi Palace and Li Hao Lan here. Additionally, Nie Yuan was the Emperor but played Lu Bu Wei the merchant. Jiang Zi Xin was Ming Yu then played Yin Xiao Chun, the physician in this clip. Li Chun Yuan was Consort Shu then played Li Xiu Yu, half sister to Hao Lan also in this clip. Further, Wang Mao Lei was Yuan Chun Wang then played An Guo Juan/Jing Ji's son. Anna Fang was Zhen'er in Yanxi Palace and Si Luo here. A couple more are Louis Zeng, Lui En Shang (Li Yu), and Zhang Yi Xi. I am sure there is more overlap but these are just the quick ones I picked out.
