I tested Void Thunder Multiple times, you need to use both skill & heavy attack to get both stacks. Using double skill only gives 15%. Test it again, let me know if I am missing something.
13:44 Base on the description, Tempest Mephis' active skill need to hit the follow up claw attack to get the buff, so you still have to BA one more time after pressing the skill before swapping (you can still animation cancel the follow up attack just like other animation cancel). Still Tempest Mephis' skill is way shorter compare to Thundering Mephis' skill. However, If you only want the damage from Echo then quick swap to other character, then Thundering Mephis' initial attack have higher multiplication (or deal more damage) than Tempest Mephis' one.
I love how the game already has tutorial for how to use the character, a very nice touch tbh but when it comes to builds, I still prefer to watch a guides like this
Yeaa i agree with you on that and the builds generally as of now are fairly easy to understand. When you take a look at the passive and skills of the character it should give you an idea of what are the stats that particular character wants…and you can go on from there
I personally think you have shown the BEST wuwa guide format in this video. It's clear, easy to follow and understand, the relevant information is specific to the sections and it's overall very detailed but concise while also not being unnecessarily complicated. I would love to see guides like this for all characters, and I'm omega looking forward to your Jianxin one. Keep up the great work!
@@gaymerwannabe4919its a universal weapon any Dps can use it. Would be Bis slot for future Dps/sub dps characters. You cant go wrong with that weapon cuz its passsive works for every Dps
There is so many guides for character techs regarding swap cancelling or just skill management overall that it's amazing, everytime you think you got it all down, there's a new video with a tech you never knew about and can add into your playstyle. I think Wuthering Waves did a fantastic job for keeping the combat interesting where as Genshin Impact is mostly the same thing over and over with only thing to master is memorising the rotations
I think folks need to know that 100% crit damage base in wuwa is actually 100% of your non critical hits, thats why you get 150% crit damage base, anything over 100% is when you start to get extra damage
@@jamesmuhuhu7987kind of but even 180 is more than enough though, my rover cd is barely 175 over 47 cr yet she hits like a truck, as long as base DMG is stable any character can do good dmg
@@jamesmuhuhu7987 base crit dmg is "50% more dmg to your hit" and is displayed as 150% crit dmg which means "multiply by 1.5" so if you want your hit to deal twice as much damage you'll need to make it 200% so it is "multiply by 2.0" if you came from genshin it works the same but basically they just display it differently, it is still "50% more dmg to your hit" but displayed as 50% crit dmg. In genshin late game it is not that rare to have 200% crit dmg anymore and it is basically "multiply by 3.0" whereas in wuthering waves we would need 300% crit dmg to achieve the same multiplier. it is really easy to think you have too much crit dmg if you are used to genshin so i recommend deducting 100% on wuthering waves so that you could still use the golden ratio of 1:2 or 1crit rate per 2 crit dmg.
@@jamesmuhuhu7987 Crit Damage is not a separate damage. Crit Damage is your damage multiplied. Meaning, your normal damage is 100% and 200% means your damage is doubled.

13:51 I think you need to hit the Tempest Mephis's 2nd hit because his first hit is tail, the 2nd hit is claw. It's really confusing because in the description it says after the "claw" hit.
How is it confusing? It literally states that it attacks with the tail first then the claw. Then in the next sentence they mention the attack order again with included damage numbers.
@@TheWaifuConnoisseur you can clearly see on the timestamp that he didn't use the claw. No claw, no electro buff damage is what I mean. I am confused because why swap cancel early if you need the claw to gain the echo buffs?
i think he made a mistake of immediately swapping right after activating the echo , but he is right on the fact that tempest mephis has lower animation compared to the other one , you can pretty much swap right after he does the tail whip and while he is starting his claw animation and you should get the buff even if Yinlin is not on the field anymore
Apparently her 2nd passive doesn't work when you simply do EE, some cc mention that in CN it mention more in the passive description with the effect of why there is purple mark and red mark on enemies, you need to E BBBB E to get the 10% dmg bonus. That's why in tutorial they teach us to do it that way. Haven't test it myself though.
Will you also do guides for the standard 5 stars, or 4 stars? or do they mostly follow the same Echo formula with evident/obvious good build choices? For example, Havoc or Spectre Rover w/ Dreamless (or whatever is good for Spectro), 44111 CR CD ATKx3 or 43311 CR DMGx2 ATKx2 Also just an idea/thing I've noticed, maybe it's a good idea to place emphasis on the stat goal sections, or weapon options? I just feel like those were particularly helpful to me. Anyways, keep up the good work man.
Great guide, well laid out, clear and easy to follow. There are however, a few things incorrect in this guide. Tempest Memphis requires you to land the claw to receive the buff, if you swap too early, it only does the tail attack and you will not get the buff. The Void Thunder 5pc set has a translation error. Resonance skill grants you one stack, Heavy attack grants you one stack. If you do double E, you will only get 1 stack of the buff. This isn't normally a problem for Yinlin, as chameleon cipher is a heavy attack. But is important to know this translation error exists as it can change your rotation entirely. Yinlin's forte circuit A2 skill (the top one) does not work as you'd think it does. It only works on sinner's mark (purple color). But if you were to use E on an enemy, you'd notice that it has a red mark instead. This is NOT sinner's mark. So if you double E in succession, you will not proc any of the forte circuit A2 passive. In order to get rid of this red mark, you will need to consume the 4 stacks of magnetic blast it comes with. This can be done using basic attack, heavy attack, dodge counter and ultimate. A 43311 where both of the 3 cost are not on set is better than a 44111 where all 5 pcs are on set and just as easy to build as you don't need them to be on set. I won't go into the math details, but you can think of it this way. One of the 3 cost is essentially the 5pc bonus. The other 3 cost competes with a 4 cost and 1 cost. However, 1 cost main stat is atk%, which can be rolled via substats and has numerous other sources like echo buffs and moonlit / rejuv set. This vastly devalues its effectiveness at improving your output. The 4 cost main stat you are looking for CR / CD, for higher crit numbers. But this increase only comes when you crit, when you don't it's wasted. Where as the 3 cost is ele dmg, a baseline increase that is always present regardless if you crit or not.
I think because of this guide, I'll now continue to pull for her after losing 50-50. Currently at 140 pulls and contemplating on saving the guaranteed for Jinhsi. But damn, Xlice, you are gonna let me use it up for Yinlin :| This is how good this guide is!
Very detailed guide indeed. For echoes i use 43311 with 74/270 crit ratio (89/270) with passive activated! it didnt even took me a week to build her like this cos i got lucky af farming echoes.
Honestly i feel like you dont want to ALWAYS immediately use her 2nd e because it could mean you dont dodge in time or arent prepared to counter attacks, though sometimes second e does hit the counter on its own. Also, sometimes you will want to hold it for just a second or two just to make sure it hits against mobile enemies like when fighting any boss that jumps around a lot (looking at you mephis's) or the ones that fly above the boss area However, you dont gain anything from waiting to use it so as soon as you have a window of opportunity to use 2nd e, its better to use it sooner than later so you dont accidentally miss the chance to use it. This is my only nitpick, otherwise poggers guide
Just swap cancel the 2nd e if you see that you’re about to be hit or that you can parry the incoming attack. Then you can just dodge or parry with your swapped in character, then swap back to Yinlin to continue building forte.
Have you tested the actual difference between 44111 and 43311? Tenten I believe put out a video showing how even 4311 (yes only 4 piece, missing an element 3 cost) still beats 44111. Showing that elements on 3 costs are very important in Wuwa. Other than that, excellent guide.
I think you can't go wrong with either , her weapon is very good on her and it's worth if you decide to go for it , but also there are some strong characters coming soon like Changli or Jinshi , and you need enough characters for 3 teams in TOA
Since the 5pc set grants 40% electro damage, and her weapon gives a bonus, wouldn’t that make running 4-4-1-1-1 more enticing? The theory crafters always say 4-3-3-1-1 is much better, but I wonder if in practice being able to easily build crit would make most builds better? But then again idk how much more damage crit grants than elemental bonus.
I don’t understand how tempest Mephis grants it’s bonus when it grants it after the claw attack and if you quick swap, you’re only doing a tail attack… please explain. 13:48
Okay so I've been playing for 3 days and I'm on union lvl 25, i kind of really like yinlin bcs she seems cool but would it be recommended that i pull for her now? I don't really know if i should save for future characters or spend it on her having a hard time choosing pls help me🙏
Great Guide! I run 43311 on my Yinlin with 90/240 crit after she uses her skill. Next Ul rank up she gets 5,6 crit from talents. I only need to get 4 % more on her echos
My kill times on bosses are faster with Yinlin as main dps in Yinlin/Taoqi/Baizhi, than running her as sub dps with Calcharo. And Calcharo isn't bad at all, but they compete too much for field time with how strong Yinlin is.
Yo man when selecting echoes is it necessary for the echos to have electro stats? Or can I just add anything as long as they are part of the void thunder set
Nice man as someone who already spent 50 bucks I wish I had that luck. But I did get her and her weapon. Using cal and that one girl that heals a lot. I’m still kinda new but enjoy using the team they let me slaughter through this early game 😂
Monlit Clouds is going to be her best set eventually, is too strong and she deals good damage even with that set, is a matter of time until we can level up to 90 and then all of that buffs are gonna be insane in our dps, electro set and especially both 4 cost echoes are awful to use and i refuse to play them
is it worth rerolling for Yinlin? My main account pulled 2 Jiyan, 1 Calcharo and 1 Jianxin in 90 Radiant Tides, and a Lustrous Razor in 10 Lustrous Tides. Got Calcharo from Beginner Convene and took Verina from Selector. Currently UL34, Databank level 16, story finished, most side quests undone, exploration about 20% in every area. Lost 50/50 on Yinlin's banner to Jianxin...
shes is very good in sub dps department and wont be power crept for a long time if u have time to re roll then it can be worth it while main dps 5 star gets power crept sooner
She's worth it because she's future-proof. The more electro dps comes, her value just gets even bigger. Supports like her also tend to get powercrept less likely than any main dps like Jiyan, Calcharo, etc. My first account also had Jiyan but still abandoned it to reroll for Yinlin because she's just more valuable overall.
Dude I have echoes with the same main stats (easy right? NO!) it always turn flat def + flat atk + flat hp I'm almost lvl 40 and I never got any crit rate sub stats in this game it sucks
7:02 You can also do two normal heavy attacks for aoe mark coverage to fill up her bar. This is useful for those annoying ToA moments where you qte and you get placed right in the middle of the pack of enemies.
Especially I enjoyed your more low key voice and less "histrionic" style (i mean without the hysterical high pitch yelling). Not criticizing, just appreciating.
