Hi, I need your expertise & help. I just bought an ilang ilang plant. Doesn't look like the dwarf variety that I ordered. It has a lean trunk (4 ft tall, very leggy). The trunk is bare of leaves/branches. Leaves appear only on the crown (top 1 ft). I do not have the space for a tall tree. What can I do to limit tree height? How can I promote branching on the lower portion of the trunk? Thanks.

That tree is leggy we have that tree and it grows with a very tall height if it’s planted in the ground. We don’t prune and the height reaches already to 35 ft. As it grows the trunk is getting bigger, and when it comes to blooming time, the whole tree bears flowers and believe me the Fragrance of the flowers carried by the breeze as far as 200 meters or more the whole neighborhood benefited the fragrant of the flowers, it is very soothing.
