I know it's an Entertaining program but as a Turkish viewer ı would like to say kolbasti is one of our traditional dances not a wedding dance also this song has no Connection with kolbasti too and by the hat reform fezs have became useless nearly 100 years ago. ı mean it is not True to Use it to symbolize turkey maybe it can Use for ottoman but we are talking about turkey and these two are not same. it is funny but a wrong presentation.
+Quirentia They sing only these 3 stanzas in the video: Üsküdar’a Gider İken Aldı Da Bir Yağmur, Kâtibimin Setresi Uzun Eteği Çamur. Kâtip Uykudan Uyanmış Gözleri Mahmur. Rough Translation: It began to rain when we were on our way to Üsküdar (a district of Istanbul) My scribe's shoe (?) is long and skirt muddy (not very sure about this part) The scribe has just woken up, whose eyes are logy (sleepy) Full song name: Üsküdar'a Gider İken. I tried to translate it with my fairly non-professional skills. Sorry for any translation errors. The song may not make sense at first but it is generally talking about a trip to Üsküdar and the singer's scribe (?) :)
+Zihnefendet Plays Thanks a lot! Yes, translation isn't always easy, I know that for sure. There are a lot of times when you think "What are they singing/saying? And how do I translate that to proper English?" I really appreciate that you tried, I get so curious of things. Like I always think that people on the subway is speaking about something super interesting when they speak a language that I don't understand.
This is the clip from Tuesday's show that I've been looking forward to the most! Thanks so much for the subs, Quirentia - that was awesome! I know you're a Bard fan, but you've got to admit that Vegard is smoking hot in this clip!
+Maija Haavisto Didn't help him win though! Calle was, as usual, funny, but over the top. I thought Vegard's dance was the best - his steps were very precise and he owned the stage as he generally does while performing, but most people expressing an opinion here liked Calle's the best. Of course I'm slightly biased!
+Lynn Cooper My pleasure! Not so much talking in this clip, so it was easy to subtitle. Yes, Vegard was owning this, and I thought this was cute of him to immediately be there to lend a hand to get Calle up of the floor in the end.
