People in the US would have probably taken them more seriously if they ever took the time to learn they can play on so many instruments and make up songs on the spot. It always frustrated me that no one ever talked about that when they had them as guests.
they dont want to be taken seriously, thats why they stop the talk show, they want to make music videos on fun, they know they could just make music if thats what they wanted, but they want to just mic it up all the time, and dont do the same over and over ^^ and they dont like serious talk on shows :)
I think the "divine song" he mentioned is more about catchy songs that have sort of earworm effect. It just happens that the Chinese word "神曲" we use to describe this type of song means literally "holy music".
I was so annoyed with that. Had they done any basic research they would have realized what they were capable of. Instead of making were you high when you wrote this jokes
Thank you so much! They are as lovely as ever (and BTW awesome chemistry with Stian!) I just noticed that I don't understand as much Norwegian as when they were doing IKMY. A whole year without much listening practice :-(
Ha ha hilarious! They're both so funny and good at improv, though the instrument part must have been partly planned. Here you also cleary see how Vegard is a little bit more socially awkward than Bård. Which is probably why Bård usually takes charge in interviews. Vegard doesn't relate to the interviewer as much, and it doesn't seem like he can take the audience's perspective as much (starts long stories that aren't that interesting, doesn't always take into account their prior knowledge). Definitely a musical genius, though.
They spent a lot of time doing improv song requests when they used to host or guest host a radio station for a while. Where people could call in and literally request a song based on a title where one would make up lyrics and the other would play. I've seen a few clips of it on RU-vid. They don't need any prior knowledge they are honestly just good at it. Just look up the Ylvis improvise songs compilation on this channel. It'll make more sense then lol
