I have listening Malmsteen over 30 years. For 6 th birthday, I bought to my dear daughter classic Yamaha guitar and complete of maestro Yngwie Johann Malmsteen CDs. Now I have her in my own home, to play small parts of this art to me, when I am tired and melancholic. Thank you mr. Malmsteen, for being part of education of my beloved daughter for over 15 years. G.A.Sarajevsky.
As far as classical guitar goes she is better off listening to Ana Vidovic or Maestro Paco De Lucia or Maestro Paco Pena ( Flamenco ). You realise that classical guitar is played with the fingers and not the plectrum ? Y. Malmsteen isn't a traditional classical guitar player afaik , but I could be wrong,... Ana would be a great role model for her. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-inBKFMB-yPg.html
@@boggy6060 Of course. I forgot to mention that my daughter atended music school at same time with regular elementary. Later I brought her to private lessons in "classic, rock and fusion guitar learning events" - 6 hours every saturday, and 2 hours daily practice of various guitar tasks. Names of guitarists are mr. Hamo Salihbegovic , frontman of rock band Konvoj from Sarajevo, as licenced academy teacher. His style is clear and sharp rock and blues, but with obligatory knowledge of basic theory and expressed wish for particular style. She was stunned and visibly impressed with Malmsteen melodies, which she already recognize as "some kind of old classic from school". She needed the proper lessons in that way.🧐 I know very well mrs.Ana Vidovic, serbian maestra of guitar, and I highly appreciate her bursting talented work, as shown in her performance of Isaac Albeniz "Asturias", for example.🙂 Such artist from our Balkan region were ,of course, in daughter PC folders. Now she describe whole way as "enjoying to fly with fingers as Maestro , as I imagine underlaying story in 2-3 minuts" . Another part is strong influence of our legendary guitarists Vlatko Stefanovski from Macedonia ( "Uci me majko, karaj me" , "Jovano ,Jovanke" etc.), and rock guitar school master Radomir Mihailović "Točak" from old serbian band "Smak"( check videos "Zajdi, Zajdi" and "Mars na Drinu" from Točak). She works ,from this year, as psychologist🧝 At least , what I have is same as from swedish artist, but melted with our regional tradition.😊 As I have certain scares from Balkan wars 1992-1996, her playing of smooth and sharp Yngwie-like "miniatures" with pretty weird slavic and oriental parts is now therapy for me. Check artists above , and also Emir Hot ( "Sevdah" metal guitarist) and Muris Varajić ( "Ancient forest").
@@keyboardwarria She have complete studio albums. I bought her , for deeper listening , 6 pieces of vinil plates complete + Concerto for guitar with Japanese orchestra. Rest are various compilations. Her last covers- she tryed to play furiously Bring me the Horizon, cutted with "Maestro"- like parts. Thanks for reading🖐️
@@sarajevsky Many thanks for your wonderful response. I am only trying to guide her on the right path. Whatever she decides to do is entirely up to her. I wasn't aware of most of the Slavic guitar players that you have mentioned. I will look them up for sure. My guitar playing background was initially rock and blues, but then I found something a lot more challenging over the years which was " Flamenco guitar " from Spain. I am self taught and I know very little music theory. With Flamenco guitar you don't really concentrate on the theory as much. It is more of guitar playing from the heart. Although to be a great Flamenco guitarist you need to master 7 or 8 basic Flamenco techniques. The rest is all up to you,and what comes from your soul. Your daughter is still young but if she loves the guitar she also should be introduced to the Great Flamenco Virtuosos such as Sabicas, Paco De Lucia and Paco Pena. In my books they are the 3 greatest guitarists that have ever lived. They say that this could be the greatest guitar music that has ever been performed by these 3 legendary guitarists. What do you and your daughter think ? Kind Regards from Bogdan Andrzejewski. ( Sydney Australia ). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oGbLEco2Ezc.html
The 'one and only'! Yngwie is a grand master of guitar! I knew he was beyond special when I first heard him in the early 80's on that Alcatrazz album! My jaw dropped, and it's been on the floor since!
The Grand Masters of the guitar aren't really that commercialized. Once upon a time in a land, long before Yngwie...... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oGbLEco2Ezc.html
Saw Ymgwie live the summer of 86 in San Antonio TX Sunken Gardens outdoor theatre, I still remember 37 years later. “You don’t remember but I’ll never forget”.
I remember when he played the Omni in Atlanta and he didn't come with a band he just had a table full of pedals and he played by himself, No band and he was just amazing,I had his 2nd album Marching Out,he was just incredible, I was like is he crazy,Then Queensryche came on then Iron Maiden after that,it was a pretty good night,🤔
i still dont understand why yngwie seems to hates most of his old song, its hard to find him live playing motherless child, what do you want, vengeance etc...... its always blackstar, farbeyond the sun and his new songs that i think i still love his old song
You are right, those f**king harmonic minor scales and diminished arpeggios plus super clean alternate picking sent an electric shook through all guitar players, suddenly we had a new star to aim for, which we we knew we could not reach.
Je ne me lasse jamais de cette étoile noire mais cette interprétation est encore plus phénomènale que l'originale : il existe encore des compositeurs de génie, celui-ci est un Maître qui nous projette dans une sphère miraculeusement unique connue de lui. Maestro, Thank You for such a gift far beyond the boarders. There's brieves " mute" on the left way out of my auscultadores on 2 points in the transition from Epiphone to Strato which seems to come out of the recording and are a little frustrating, but otherwise this is a splendor.
60+ years old leather pants, Elvis's sideburns and Paganinis fingers Super Lead Stratocaster. Huge EVH fan first time I saw YJM was when he opened up for AC/DC in Minnesota in 1984 (college days). Last time I saw him was 3 maybe 4 years ago at State Theatre in Arlington VA. Still a little (ok very) crazy but still 1 of the all time greats. I think he could lose a few mph in speed and still mesmerize bcs he is the ONE who invented and perfected that neo-Classical shred style. No one else comes close and it's been a TON of years. Keep on rocking Yngwie!
Wow it is so much a pleasure to finally have an excellent live performance of Black Star like this one. I have been waiting so long for a good RU-vid of this very fulfilling. Thank you being so gracious as to post this footage.
Thanks for the video Sammy. I remember listening to Yngwie when he was with Alcatraz years ago. This by no means is a comparison between the two but like Elvis he changed music forever. He influenced music listeners as well as guitarists. He was a major influence to Jeff Loomis and if you've never heard of him I suggest Googling Jeff Loomis and Jato unit. EMG pickups have their own channel on RU-vid simply called EMG TV.
Give me AlcatrazZ any day over all this nonstop noodling, for me it gets old quick, In Alcatrazz his genus was phenomenally on display , and with the voice of Graham Bonnet leading the way it was truly Powerfully magic music 🤘
I've been saying the same thing for years.. Alcatrazz was Yngwies best playing years, well thought out solos and magical tone. I put this down to him being a member of a band, as opposed to him being the captain.
Nah man he had some killer recordings in the 90s , fire and ice, seventh sign, magnun opus, inspiration, facing the animal, it was after 2000 that everything he recorded really sucks.
Actually, I love watching him shred the guitar. The only thing I didn’t care for was looking at the back of that chic’s head recording him. Other than that, I thought it sounded excellent extraordinary! Some guy said in a comment about him, “pimping” his music up well most bands that are on tour today and I quote” “pimping” up their music Actually, it sounds like the first time I ever heard the song Like Journey, Alice Cooper, Sammy Hagar, Etc I love the fact these Legends are still performing for us playing that they’re still around to play for us “pimping” up their music! Depending on the song, sometimes it sounds better with age like fine wine..🍷 Thank God for legends that are still on tour to play to perform for us 🤘🔥👊🎤🎸🎹🥁🎼♾️ ♥️♥️
Took him a second to settle in but once he stopped being flashy and playing w his hair it got real... I love yngwie and his music is epic and truly timeless. He is a master and will likely be forgotten because his niche is so unpopular in the mainstream. Its true he is not as clean as he used to be but it doesn't take away from his genius or originality. Yngwie is responsible for a majority of the shred wave from the 80s so at this point its just postscript
You can go ahead and say “there’s no feel” all you want. But can you do that? Lol I mean, can anyone besides him do this? Not very many, so why not? It’s brilliant work. Sounds incredibly classical on the acoustic. This man is a modern day Mozart, truly
@@junodonatus4906 exactly, generally. But talking that to someone who don't understand the beauty of true musicianship is also pointless . One solo of Peter Green in the mid sixties with Mayall or Fleetwood Mac is worth much more than everything this donut man made in his career. But again, one who understand true beauty of music will understand.Others, enjoy in circus and acrobatics... :)
