For all the people saying its not Yngwie playing, you can clearly hear from just the playing that its him, and if you cant hear it you clearly havent listened to him enough
@RisingForce64 I wish that Yngwie would have put this on the Odyssey Album because it's Amazing ! I Love the Pictures especially with the Both Lars (Ulrich ) & Yngwie born Lars Johann Yngve Lannerbach and lets not forget the Incredible Ronnie James Dio RIP and of course John Norum from Europe. Thanks a bunch My Friend !
The track "Hold On" from the Odyssey album could actually be considered Malmsteen's tribute to "I Surrender", and he did it in his on brilliant way. Another Malmsteen masterpiece, "You Don't Remember..." from the previous album was also probably influenced by Rainbow tunes such as Stone Cold, Can't Let You Go etc... Sadly enough, in the rest of his career he was not able to write any other vocal tune that even comes close to those... "Judas" from the Eclipse album had its moments, but the solo was a mess, unlike You Don't Remember... and Hold On, where the solos contain some of Malmsteen's best work on the fretboard. I wonder why he altogether abandoned writing tunes with that kind of emotional intensity.
If you don't believe RisingForce64 then take it from another Big Fan of Yngwie's. This most certainly is without a doubt 100% Yngwie Malmsteen. I know his playing anywhere maybe because he's My Favorite Guitarist and I Just Love him so I can tell.
Back then Yngwie really cared about what he was doing, now he is content to release absolute bland SHITE - which is usually very incompetently produced with poor sound quality. Yngwie can still cut it live but as a recording artist now, he is utterly insignificant & irrelevant - he's done nothing new in a good 25 years!!! Sadly there are some fans that will still buy any old shite he does = crap production & sound quality + tedious improvised bland solos + weak songwriting. Yngwie should listen to production on e.g. a recent Axel Rudi Pell album. Yngwie should get a co songwriter + good producer = then maybe , just maybe he'll do something good again.
Well I can tell you one thing for sure, Yngwie would never ever hire a co-songwriter haha, he always wanted all the stuff himself, he did hell of amazing during the 80´s .... but now I´ve got to agree it´s poor sound quality and just some improvised solos! Yngwie´s songs back then were so much more complexe and special, and nowdays he´s playing way to fast, sometimes it sounds just sloppy he should focus on his masterpieces he did in 80´s Well I love yngwie but I have to agree with you !
I know its hard to believe but the soloing really is like a bland bs no care typical yngwie feel, n JLT DID play w him. Too basic to b Malmsteen but bs trackin is plausible
