CELLYYBO y’all seem lost he killed his childhood best friend after being surprised and they were teenagers when it just happened last year and he was arrested for that and let off/ out in self defense or something like that and then his other friend died and now that is why he is in jail now and that old case reopened with the new one and watch his documentary it will help he is guilty of the first but I don’t think he killed his friend that he is in jail for now and it’s still #FREEMELVIN TILL IT BACKWARDS

kmstx2 You’re looking way too far into it. What if Melly doesn’t know the difference? Also if he did manslaughter on his mind wouldn’t make sense because manslaughter isn’t premeditated and the entire premise of the song is the PLANNING of killing someone being on his mind. Either way you look at it killing someone with a firearm will be considered murder almost every time, what instance can you think of where someone wielding a gun unintentionally kills someone, it very rarely happens. So in the eyes of the law with no proof to backup the claims it was unintentional, he killed a man with a firearm therefore it’s murder.

Y’all missed this part 7:55, where the kid who was shot said “never thought a home invasion would’ve costed my my life” basically saying that mellly shot him and when he did he didn’t know it was his friend.
He said claim because he was talking as if he was his friend, because if you got shot you would say that he claimed it was by surprise, not he did it by surprise because you wouldn't know that. Melly was just trying to make it feel realistic and in the first parts he tells you that he knew that he did it by surprise.

He said "he CLAIMED he didn't know" meaning that the person he shot he told him he didn't know it was him, but in that situation and shock taking over...you wouldn't know what to think if somebody just shot you. So if you and me were playing with a gun, and you forgot the bullet in the chamber, lets say, and pointed it at me and pulled the trigger, and shot me when I wasn't looking maybe, then even if you say it was an accident, im not gonna know for sure in that moment, so I'm gonna say you claimed that it was an accident. And btw...majority of these recent songs, he wrote when he was locked up, so none of these can be used against him in court. He didn't kill his friends. He does have a history with guns though. He definitely isn't scared to shoot the shit. In blue ballenciagas he says "caught you lackin after school and shot at all your friends" or some shit, and he actually did shoot at a group of people at a high school.

In a youtube video from someone i can’t remember who, it’s stated that the person that was shot was hit twice in both vital ereas. 1 in his lung and one near his heart. Even if Melly tried to stop the bleeding or something else, the dude would’ve still died.

i think i know why he said "he claimed he didn't know" was because in 3rd person objective the narrator doesn't know any of the characters thoughts. But im kind of confused because he keeps switching from 1st person to 3rd person.
