What's crazy is how some lines in the translated lyrics ae so close to the original lines phonetically that for a second you get confused if it's suddenly switched back to Japanese. Like "that emotion" at the beginning of the chorus sounds so much like "dare mo ga" especially with how Ikura pronounces it

Most of Yoasobi's song are so well translated when it comes to English version.. For example Racing into the Night by Yoasobi.. The beginning feels so much similar to japanese like the word "Shizumu" was translated into "Seize a move"

2:16 Just a reminder that Ai is the name of the character, but it also means “love” in japanese. It’s a very common pun in japanese media, so when in this song you hear “Ai” or “love”, keep in mind you could interchange one with the other.

So glad someone else got that too, that knowledge alone can make you enjoy the song so much more in both languages just because of the clever word play.

@2:17 to 2:40 ; to give more context, is the feelings/sentiments of the other members/performers of Ai Hoshino's group (B-Komachi) . That's how it is in the Japanese Idol Industry; not only it is very competitive against other groups, but it also amongst it's own members. Usually, everyone in the group always try to compete for the "Lead" position.

5:55 right? The contrast is very prominent especially if you think about the lyrics in the context of the events in ep1. Phenomenal song and show

It's rarer and rarer for modern music to cut you and show much if any of the artists themselves. This song and show show so much rawness of the character that it makes you either look directly at it or turn away, either way the song makes a hell of an impression and stay with you. It's amazing that just 10 years ago the song and the show would be much more obscure but in current time with Vtuber, streaming, economic recession, the shift in culture and entertainment the theme of Oshi no Ko no doubt resonant with the common people so much more comparing to just anime fan or dramas fan, chasing something real or settling for an illusion/lie. All in all, great video man.

My advice is if you want to continue with the next episode, prepare yourself mentally, because after I read manga oshi no ko Until the latest chapter, in the middle of the story there will be a complicated situation, your feelings are like riding a rollercoaster

We have been waiting to see your reactions to the music video after watching the anime. I also watched the music video after watching the first episode of the anime, and I was deeply moved. It's unfortunate that many people, without experiencing the original work or the anime, solely watch the music video based on its high view count, and as a result, they are unable to understand the content and miss out on the emotional impact, ending up with little to no reaction to the video. Please also inform those people that they are missing out on a wonderful experience of being deeply moved. The incredible aspect of this seemingly unnatural English translation is that it not only aligns with the sounds of the Japanese language but also with the meaning of the story. "That emotion melts" "Completely deny"

Amazing translation! Fun fact: Aka Akasaka, one of the authors of oshinoko loves this song so much that take the first two lines of it to create a related short novel "45510". Hope there is an English translation.

Wasn’t it the other way around? This song is a musical version of the short? Correct me if I’m wrong

It was the other way around, the short novel was the inspiration of the song, YOASOBI cited it themselves. It just happened to be released to the japanese public as well

I know its by the original artist and I respect that but man, it almost always sounds bad when Japanese songs are literally translated to English because words have to fit where they don't fit rhythmically. Personally I think Caitlin Myers does the best at translating Japanese songs and keeping their general meaning while making the song sound good in English.
