Coming from India, I grew up with Yoga all around me. Then I somehow lost my touch with it once I moved to Europe. When I wanted to come back to it, I tried out virtually and in-person with many teachers. I agree with you about the cliches - the tea, the showy pronunciations of the names of asanas, and of course, 'Namaste' - they definitely made me cringe. But Adriene somehow got me hooked and I kept coming back time and again. It's just her philosophy - accepting yourself where you are today and letting the thoughts and failures be, without expectations to 'achieve the pose' and be perfect - this is what resonated with me and always keeps me grounded when I come on the mat. Not one day passes now when I don't want to get on the mat and do my yoga practice. Over the course of just a few months, i have noticed huge improvements in posture, breath capacity, anger management and even better productivity at work and home. I would want to continue practicing with Adriene and my fellow yogis for the rest of my life. Namaste and have a wonderful day ahead!

Blessed Beloved Beauties! It's nice to see "Yoga for a flexible Mind & Body" on the calendar for "Get to Know" Day - 14. It has been awhile. I am sweaty 🥵 and energizing. Ah, I enjoyed that. How did you all enjoy it? I concur "we must show up for ourselves in order to show up for our community." I called in for a personal day from the university. I am drained this term instructing 3 courses. Thank God for yoga! Best wishes everyone! 🦋❤️🦋

I was up at 4:30, the mind still trying to trap me in worry about Thursday's checkup. After an hour of trying to return to sleep, I gave up and meditated instead. Then I had some coffee, fruit and granola and took a two hour walk on this cool morning. I came to this sequence again after a bit of a nap and now am ready for the day, and for the time being, Thursday! Nourish day 16. 408 days in a row.

@@loublou5886 It did. Some mild Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, gastritis and one other which I do not recall the name of but basically where the stomach meets the large intestine, the stomach is tight but the intestine is loose. I have not really had any symptoms so it was good to find out.

When 2020 ended I decided to commit to Breath in January, I was so hooked that I kept going, I did Home, Dedicate, True and Revolution. For June I decided that I want to try following the monthly calendars. I don’t know why I was so nervous before starting but this morning practice showed me why I like doing Yoga with this lovely community, Adriene and Benji. Thank you Adriene and thank you to your team for your amazing work, you made me really appreciate practicing and helped me find a healthy hobby. Love from Poland xx

EXPAND day 2! I’m in it! I am strong! I did this whole practice without the grunting belly flops I usually do when going from plank down to the ground. ❤🎉 Love YWA and this wonderful family of yogis. Thank you, Adriene 🎉

When I was relapsing into my eating disorder last year, yoga became a compulsion for me and I would go out of my way to ensure I was able to complete my daily practice to avoid the guilt that came with missing it. After a hospital admission I am beginning to rebuild my life, which includes cautiously adding yoga back into my day in a healthy and contained way. I am slowly trying to relearn to listen to my body and to really understand what it means to 'find what feels good' instead of using movement as a punishment or a chore. Thank you for helping me on my journey

The flows have felt quite a bit more difficult since I came back home in February . Gastric issues are a bit more present I assume due to the quality of food here. Bloom day 30. 968 days. ------------ Later start again today. Just finished, and it is nearly 7:30 pm. The same friend I brought the bike to yesterday, came and left with a lot of things, including the computer. I still have a lot to do and am so busy these last weeks as I prepare to leave, but I feel so much closer to being done. Tired too but managing in between resting. Align day 5. 854 days in a row.

Yes! Second time I've done this practice and I'm moving it to my favourites 🥰 I'm so excited to realise I'm not frantically whispering "I am strong/flexible/worthy" in an attempt to convince myself that I am anymore. I'm carefully whispering it as a simple truth now after months of practice. I feel stronger now at 52 than I ever have in my life 🥰 Day 16 of Nourish, day 140/365 in a row! I AM STRONG!

Spark day 13, I am strong, I am flexible, I am worthy. I really do feel these things now, I've come such a long way from my self depreciating thoughts and although I have to keep myself in check daily I am getting better and stronger mentally, physically and spiritually. I've been practicing not looking down as I bring my feet together (really together), and I'm surprised at how centered they are along the line in the middle of my mat! It definitely did not use to be this way :) And all in the month of Align! Day 5, February 2023

Jul 13, 2022 05:09 Intention : spark to be honest with myself I am sore from yesterday's core workout, and my mind wants to do vinyasa flow but my body is asking to take it gentle today as a result, my knocking on heavens door moment is not my usual rock and roll, head banging phase but a gentle graceful dance and I love how I did it today. After a very hard work day with unwarranted criticism towards me, I found myself crying through this whole practice. I am thankful that the moves were familiar to me so that I could just easily move through them, letting the tears fall. Thank you for a practice that invites us no matter how we are feeling and allows us to move through the troubling emotions.

Here on Spark day 13, July 22. Today I felt strong, despite the super achy stomach muscles from yesterday’s core strength ritual. Over 6 months with Adriene and no matter what the essence of each day’s practice is, it always feels like the right one by the end. It’s all good! Returning to this new practice, I did this on my busy Sunday as it’s a shorter one. I’m struggling with my staying power today so I went with the flow and modified here and there only missing that last vinyasa for a rest. I must keep positive. 🤞 This was a flowing workout today 😊 see you tomorrow on the mat for maybe another swap 🤔🧘🏼‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🙏💕

Thank you, Adriene, for so many hours of yoga that help me feel better, focus better. As a 70+ participant, I have found that using light hand weights has enabled me to continue practicing yoga for years without pain in my arthritic hands. So instead of leaning on my palms during downward dog, for example, I grasp a hand weight in each hand and lean on them.

This practice got me sweating way more than I thought it would. Thank you for the mantras in the moments of pause. I treasure those amidst a wonderful practice. I also find myself giving an even deeper mantra like a pep talk for my soul guided by Adriene. I am trying to manifest big things in the coming months and yoga has been such a light/empowerment for me. Thank you as always Adriene!

As always, each daily practice meets me right where I’m at. I was dealing with some insecurities and emotional hurt as I went into the practice. Then when Adriene suggested saying, “I am worthy,” I just started crying. It was exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you, Adriene, for your love and care.

I don't work out very often, and these past couple of months have been very tiring to me. I know being physically active might improve my energy as well as my mood, and I'm glad to say yoga with adriene has been a great place to start! I only do one practice a week as finding motivation is already a struggle and I don't want to set high goals early on, but it really does wonders for me and I will be doing this more often. Thanks Adriene

I just read the book Breath by James Nestor, and it reaffirmed everything that I am learning through this Yoga practice about the importance of breathing. Thank you, Adriene, for the constant gentle reminder to pay attention to breathing. I feel my lung capacity increasing as well as my general health and well-being improving with this daily practice. I am most grateful.

This January, after finally getting into a regular yoga practice, I tore my ACL and MCL and had to have reconstructive surgery. These months without yoga and weathering online school and physical therapy have been hard. Even if I have to modify every pose, I am so glad to be back here and in the positivity and welcoming atmosphere that is this group

It is a year that I have been doing your YWA just about every day. I live in the woods in Canada and some days have no internet. I am the most flexible I have ever been (I am 76) and face the day with calm and gratitude. Thank you. And I am so sorry about your Mom's challenge. Stay strong.

It’s been a while since I’ve done yoga, I stopped because i had covid and then i just lost motivation, I tried to get back by doing other exercises like running and working out and now here I am. It feels so good to be back! I feel fresh and more open and hopefully I could continue the journey again, thank you Adriene and i love you so much ❤️

Wow. I finished the 30 day move journey 2 days ago and was meant to do yoga yesterday & today with someone who has cancelled both days. Tonight I decided to do this class by myself, and I found it incredibly moving. Thank you so much for what you do, it’s been deeply therapeutic even for an aged jaded cynic such as myself. I feel I’m on a very exciting journey inwards here - namaste 🙏

Align day 5, February 2023. Love this practice. Flow, day 3. May 2022. I feel I am getting stronger. Spark, day 13. July 2022. Love this practice. Took my yoga mat outside on the grass. Very calming.

Exactly what I needed today 🥰 I do love a nice flow 🥰 chuckle moment when adriene asked what are you bringing to the mat today. There was a little meow right in front of me and I opened my eyes to see one of my kitty's saying "me, you're bringing me" 😍

I had liked this video, but the one I did yesterday I also had liked, and that one was really tough for me for some reason. Kind of disheartening because that means I lost progress from not much yoga over the past few weeks that I'd cultivated over the year. So I wasn't sure what to expect on this one. Did I just like this one because I felt strong in myself that day? However, I would like it again if I could. Today, I do feel strong! It was difficult, and there was a brief moment that I wanted to give up, but I persevered. I do think my mind has become more flexible along with my body. What a good practice! A difficult but very encouraging one. Just exactly what I needed. Thank you!

Cultivate day 15, there were a lot of planks and vinyasas which made me sweat and I assume it was a bit more challenging comparing to the first time doing this. Nevertheless, the ending ( knicking on heaven's doir) was great and all the pressure went away and I felt elated! Namaste❤🥰

Adriene, I have been working out to your clips on RU-vid intermittently over the past year or two. I just search and find one that suits at the time. This is probably the most recent of your videos I have watched. I hope you are travelling well. You seemed different in this clip, and Benji going up and licking your hand made me feel I was not imagining that, that you needed some comfort and reassurance. Flow day 3- I haven't done such a fast paced yoga video in a while and it felt good. I think doing the Refresh calendar last month helped that and is now making me appreciate fast paced practices more!

I didn't do my practice last night so I opted to do it this morning in lieu of the morning walk. I'm so glad I did. This really helped clear my mind from fogginess and get me focused on the day ahead. Breath and movement with breath. Something so simple is so hard for me to master but the impact of practice is immense.

Wow, I haven't done a flow like this in a while, maybe since january consistently... My body was able to do it but I was getting lightheaded around the 18 min mark, still listened to the rest of the video while I focused on breathing... Can't wait to follow this flow again, thank u for everything you do Adriene 🧡

Today’s practice done on: * 11/16/21: i am worthy! * 5/3/22: this was a good pace to really feel the flow as well as be in the stillness. flow day 3 🌊 * 7/13/22: what a lovely practice to do in the morning, a balance of slow and fast. spark day 13 ❤️‍🔥 * 2/5/23: is it really a yoga with adriene video if you don’t smack your own booty 😂. loved moving with this one. align day 5 ⭐️ * 5/31/23: as much as my arms were tired tonight, that last mountain pose was pure bliss and peace 😊. bloom day 30 🌸 * 7/2/23: glad this one was short and sweet, its nice to incorporate a little movement on this Sunday before another week starts/the weekend ends. {expand day 2}
