To everyone reading this, I sincerely pray for that whatever is causing you pain or stress will pass. May your negative thoughts, excessive worries and doubts disappear, replaced by clarity and understanding. May your life be filled with peace, tranquility and love
Thanks. I felt your prayer. It's never comfortable to truly get to know yourself, and it is the whole point of the meditation process, something we must pass through on the pathless Path, "To know thyself is the beginning of Wisdom". We cannot know God before we know ourselves, so to face our innermost self takes real courage & faith and can be very troublesome, but we must, if we are to love and know we are loved. I recently learned that the Tibetan translation of the word meditation is '"To become familiar with your mind". All the Blessed 🙏🕉
I read it ITS really such an interesting good book which have given me some Hope cause in this time I feel somehow Bad often and Reading His book gave me chills and a little bit sanity Back 🤔
There are two literary spiritual hurricanes in my life: Autobiography of a Yogue, and Meetings with Remarkable Men. It is difficult to know people read one, but not the other. Personal opinion. Namastê 🙏😁
Deeply grateful to Helene Lindahn who released this video after the death of her husband, and my friend Ron Lindahn. This film goes beyond AWAKE and offers history, stories and glimpses into the lineage I did not know about. Ron's trip to India to film, research, and dig up all this info is a great service to all who loved the teachings of Yogananda and his disciples. Ron told me he wanted to release it to an audience the way AWAKE was done. Helene has done that through RU-vid where it will reach millions. Deepest gratitude.
It is not just talk! Usually it is a talk with peace around such saints .. when you are with them, you change / realise yourself at Saint’ Bliss and your pace of inner transformation
Recently visited Yogananda’s home in LA. Beautiful beyond words. I believe it was late 2014 that I learned of this sainted man. Put me on a trajectory of where I am today. People say, I am different. They are right, I am different. Accepting of what “is” remains a challenge some days, but thankfully, those days are becoming less and less.
I have recently discovered Yogananda, wow what a blessing, such a current of energy, and life transformation, I’m absolutely hooked, What a soul thank you for this amazing wisdom.
Yogananda is my Guru. From him I learned to pray, love God, love Jesus. From him I learned to take refuge in our Heavenly Father. From him I learned how to love difficult people, including myself lol! From him I learned to find happiness, joy and wisdom in the inner silence of my soul. I have much to go in my journey. But I am on my journey and have solved the mystery of life.
I’m from Ukraine, orthodox Christian. Happy to learn more about your culture and ways of worshiping God, the Almighty! Thank you very much for this educational and absolutely blissful film!
Slava Ukraini ! i am from Ukraine too !! read the book Autobiography ! it is amazing ! i read it 3 times in past few years.... Simply Wonderful, full of Inspiration and Love for and of God... Learn Yoga and Kriya... be an example of Health and Wisdom to everyone around
All religions and spiritual paths bring to spiritual consciousness. They seem different paths because we don't see the Truth behind them... But the essence is the same 😊
Autobiograpy of a Yogi is one of my favorite books. I spent one week at his hermitage at SRF in Encinitas, CA over 30 years ago -- very sweet energy there. It sits on a cliff high above the beach, and meditation in the mornings, while listening to the healing ocean waves was really magical. During that same west coast trip, I stayed at the Biltmore Hotel in LA and was in a room just a few doors away from the one in which he spent his last trip (He passed away while giving a talk). He was one of the most influential spiritual masters that started my yoga path. The love he held for his guru and for humanity was really inspirational.
wonderful, Thankyou. much love from australia. Autobiography of a yogi came into my life over 30 years ago. It broke my mind , the way I thought about the world was changed forever. Tears of gratitude are pouring from my eyes as I write this .Loving Pranams at the lotus feet of all the masters
Thank you! My spiritual path to Yoganandaji began with introductions to Roy Eugene Davis in Chicago, Yogacharya Oliver Black in Detroit, and Swami Kriyananda in San Francisco, and has included chanting with Swami Nirvanananda at Lake Shrine in Pacific Palisades. I have visited YSS, Dwarahat, and Babaji's cave in India. This movie brings back many treasured memories. I look forward to finding the books referenced in the credits. Jai Guru!
I'm a longtime devotee, but much of this information and these photos were new to me. Fantastic, deep-delving work. I'll have to watch this again and again to really absorb it. Thank you so much!
What An Absolutely Wonderful Movie On The History And Life Of Paramahansa Yogananda. I Read A Few Of His Books In The Mid 1990's After A Heartbreaking Divorce With The Woman And Mother Of My Only Child That I Truly Treasured. His Life Altering Perspective And Spiritual Enlightenment Literally Saved My Life! His Teachings Made Me Realize That My Life Had Meaning And Was Worth Living And Honoring. Thank You For The Excellent Content On This Great Swami/Guru's Life. This Was Very Emotional For Me And Truly Lifted My Soul! God Bless You And All Who've Viewed This Wonderful Video. I'm Forever Grateful! 🙏♥️🙏
Thank you so much for making this documentary. I will forever love the eyes of Paramahansa Yogananda, actual light emanates from them. They are the most beautiful eyes I have seen in a human.
Jai Gurudev Absolutely Magnificent and so highly informative. Wonderfully narrated. I truly appreciate the accuracy of historical facts which I believe wouldn’t have available to most of the followers having just one side or version . Here we are very well informed and enriched A true service to Kriya Yoga ❤ Hari Om 🙌🏽🕉️🌈🧘🏽♀️🧘🏼♂️🧘🏽🌷☀️🌸🌈🙏🏽
Wonderful! Thank you! The Autobiography of a Yogi was a vital milestone of my life. Still have this treasure on my shelves. Thank you so much for offering this stirring account of Yogananda's spiritual lineage.
Thank you for this documentary. I own a copy of Paramahansa Yogananda’s volumes of The Second Coming of the Christ Within You, I haven’t gotten through it entirely. It’s very enlightening. I also read The Yoga of Jesus. He was a man of wisdom. I’m very happy I came upon this yogi. 🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️💕
❤i came across this on Friendship day..❤This could be a message from the Masters ..So beautiful ❤️ i love the way u have shown kriya lineage..kriya everything ❤ kriya yoga works ..it develops the ida pingala and third eye.. every single step is guided by Divine within..the presence of madters is felt . kaivalya is the Gift of Gyan..
Amazing documentary, it will be widely shared among devotees of Paramahansa Yogananda, my 1st guru, and Paramahamsa Vishwananda, my present guru. Many thanks for all all effort!
I'm writing as I remember you on experiences with the master talking about Gurudev changing into Yoganada at a Satsang with Bhakti Marga. If it's not you, all good.
I just found this today, August 19th and I'm thrilled and very very grateful for it!!! Delighted and shared it with many friends. Thank you Thank you Thank you Om Namah Shivaya
Amazing archival visuals! I was lost in every image. Excellent film -- kept it's biographical focus, evenly paced, great narration. Thank you to the poster.
I really liked the mention of Yogacharya and Swami Kriyananda at the end, I've visited both Ananda and Song of the Morning Ranch and loved them both. The people in both locations are so lovely and wise. In addition, I have read many of the books written by (or about) Roy Eugene Davis, and this video was a good reminder to plan a visit to CSA in Lakemont Georgia...
🙏 i think that is an actual photo of revered Father. he does look like Lahiri Mahasaya. this was very reverently and tastefully done. What an excellent film. Thank You. ❤
Cried tears of joy watching your work, how meticolously and untiringly you researched- God gracious! Two questions remain: No mention of Swami Bhabananda who was a friend and advanced codisciple of Swami Yogananda. Moreover I stumble over the photo of Babaji Maharaj. If authentic then this is the first I see in 30 years, amazing. Joy Guru from Germany
Hi Michael, it is heartwarming to read your and others’ words of appreciation. Please look at the movie description, there’s a note about the photos in our movie. To clarify: many of the images in our documentary were created by Ron and I to illustrate the narrative. Most are based on existing photos of poor quality that we have had to reimagine; in some cases we had to invent images that do not exist historically. This is the case for Babaji’s photo, it’s not an historical photograph but an original artwork based on several existing photos that we combined. Sorry that Swami Bhabananda isn’t mentioned in the documentary. It isn’t all comprehensive but we focused on the main characters. Hélène
THANK YOU for sharing this beautiful documentary of the wonderful life and teaching of Paramahansa Yogananda - we are all so Blessed by his presence and Divine Guidance in our lives - Worldwide !
I first read the book in the early 1970s when I was a student at Berkeley. I've read it several times since. I remember all those old 1970s counter-culture books including Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, etc. What a time!
Wonderful. And it answered a question I've had for years: How could Mukunda NOT have ever had the darshan of Sarada Devi? Especially if he was acquainted with Master Mahasaya. Now the question is, how did this event not make it into the AY or any other annuls of Yogananda's life?
The levitating saint was a poise and grounded yogi. This made me laugh. The more we soar the infinite bliss of God the more grounded we become. Namaste to all blessings from divine Mother and my beloved Guruji Yogananda.
Ron & Hélène Lindahn, I'm deeply grateful for this fantastic documentary about our beloved Guru and other Kriya Masters. As beautiful as Awake, The Life of Yogananda. 🙏🏽💗🙏🏽
Thank you for this great movie! It is loaded with tons of rare information! As for the Energization Excercises Yogananda said he received them directly from Divine Mother in 1916 in form of a vision when suddenly all 38 postures appeared before his inner eyes at the same time. So he just needed to write them down.
Wow! This is massively excellent! Well researched and balanced with superb video and narration. Lots of background information that helps one understand the evolution of Kriya. I was unaware, for instance, of the role Yogananda’s family played In connecting him with Sri Yukteswar.
Thank you for this wonderful and inspirational job about this graet master Sri Paramahansa Yogananda, I felt his presency while i saw the moviie, Jai Gurude
So happy to see this now. I was happy to attend meditations with Oliver Black on wednesday evenings in 1976 Song of the Morning Ranch... so thankful in my life.
I know how he felt, I love being the one and only, all know God of creation and absolutely everything and nothing at the same time. It's pretty fun knowing absolutely everything.
Thank you very much. Well produced movie which is very inspiring. The script, the narration the voice, the music and photography are of exceptional quality. I am seeing many of the photos for the first time. Thank you. Jai Guru.
Dear Ajith, Jai Guru. Thanks for your words of appreciation. Are you Ajith Kumar from Kerala? I have met a YSS devotee with your name at the Dakshineswar ashram a long time back. Please read the movie description stated above. To clarify, many of the images in our documentary were created by Ron and I to illustrate the narrative. Most are based on existing photos of poor quality that we have had to reimagine; in some cases we had to invent images that do not exist historically. It’s original artwork. Hélène
The realization that God is within and without...that God is everywhere and everything...this is the knowing...when hearts open...transcend...pure Love...💗💗💗
Yogananda saved my life at 17 in 1967. This film is a wealth of information but unfortunately there are too many ads which interrupt the Divine flow. But so much richness in the behind the scenes info of Yogananda's life, I must endure the annoying materialistic commercials. 🕉💜🕉💜🕉💜🕉
@sixwingsram Thanks for your appreciation. I have no control over RU-vid ads and do not receive any money / incentive in any form from these ads or from RU-vid. RU-vid has a paid subscription that enables folks to watch all videos without any ads. This channel doesn't have a premium account, just a regular, free one. I'm not aware of RU-vid's policies on ads, why some videos have so many and others none. However there are some good ways to block ads at no cost. One is to use the free Brave browser on mobile devices (brave.com) and for the desktop there’s the free AdBlockPlus extension on the Chrome browser. If you watch a RU-vid video inside the Brave browser, you won't see a single ad. I’m not affiliated with any of these, just offering suggestions to help. Hélène
Thank you for this amazing documentary... It truly is wonderful and informative. It very much compliments the movie Awake: The life of Paramahansa Yogananda... Very much appreciate your love and dedication in creating it. One suggestion: to have correct English subtitles for it, so it can be better suited to translate to other languages.
I fell asleep after watching this entire video. In the dream I saw the perspective of the guru where he exists now in a singularity state, later revealing to me he was the guru featured in this video that studied math and science, I just had to find his name. It likely was Priya Nath Karar but from his projected experience on to me while I was in the sleep state, he showed me the one and only, pure center of being and awareness of all as an extension of himself. It was amazing.
Although his "Autobiography.." is one of the best selling spiritual books there are so many others whose followers claim that they were the greatest spiritual master of the 20th century: Ramana Maharshi, Meher Baba, Sri Aurobindo a.o.. Then there was those great masters who did not make any such claim about themselves like J. Krishnamurti or Osho. But actually I can't see anyone being more popular World wide in 20th century than Dalai Lama. It should be mentioned also that several of these did not share Yoganada's belief in God.
