This. If it's not the live audio performance, don't call it a live performance. The title of this video is a straight-up lie.

I simply refuse to believe it. It was dubbed right? This is the original OST over a video. Am I crazy or this makes NO sense at all?

It's call classic, you can't just replace the original music from anime, if they didn't ask them to compose instead of pull random composer to make new soundtrack, it won't be the same and bebop fans(including me) will be angry. Plus it's nice to hear new remix ver

The people in the video appear to be playing Tank, but what we're hearing is not what they're playing. So why didn't they use the actual audio that they recorded? The people in this video are pro studio musicians. These aren't the people you hire just to look good, they get hired for their excellent musical ability. It doesn't make sense that we don't get to hear a fresh, new (and possible better) take of this iconic song. Besides, if they just had re-recorded the song, the average viewer wouldn't even notice, like how most people thought this *was* newly recorded, so the "classic" argument doesn't work IMO. My main point is this: this video is essentially lip syncing; it's deceptive; they claimed this is new but it isn't. And this is actually a remaster, rather than a remix. It's the exact same recording from 1998, but edited to sound higher quality. However some of the episode openings *are* slight remixes of the old recording (every episode except ep 1 has a slightly different edit of the original Tank recording). Also, they recorded a TON of brand new and fantastic music music for this show. They absolutely had the ability to re-record the old music instead of just re-using the same old recordings. Note that when I say "re-record", this doesn't mean re-writing a new song. It's still the same song, just recorded with modern equipment by modern musicians, and both the composer and those contemporary musicians have the opportunity to breathe new life into this beloved classic. They even recorded a new arrangement of Rush called Net Rush, and it sounds great, so why not record Tank?

@@tristanhmusic i was so frustrated with the tank remixes, especially the one in episode two. They had to say the "3 2 1" thing earlier, so while the intro played what did they do? THEY CHOPPED MASATO HONDA'S SOLO OUT OF THE BAR TO FILL IN THE BLANK SPACE OH MY FUCKING GOD I CAN'T

I honestly really enjoyed it, second watch through. So to me it feels like they really cared. I got this Kill Bill vibe from it and then it hit me, ofcourse I did! The anime paid homage often to older movies and the old Kung fu classics. Well, did kill Bill and so does this, that's just kinda how it translates in live action, it's gonna be a little different! Once I had that realization, I settled in and am half way through episode 4 and thoroughly enjoying that it is what it is. An over the top love note to the past.

The things is that most anime viewers are depressed socially ill persons that have not much to do with a healthy life, therefor it got canceled and left the true lovers of Cowboy Bebop in the dust. When 95% of the Earth population are dumb, then what do you think how many fully understand the depths of Cowboy Bebops fundamentals. Probably the same amount. So what these poor lost imbeciles are in for is cool anime drawn fights some ambient, some cringe cliche drama they can be amused and a new anime character buddy they try to hang on. The live action show has not the focus on these points but aims for a more overall Cowboy Bebop flair which it absolutely nails! I loved every damn second of the show and I'm on my second watch as well. Sadly, another loss to the dumb sheep crowd since it got canceled. Screw modern society, screw social media.

Bebop was a reflective somber and most importantly cool Sci Fi noir that dealt with themes of regret and loss. Each of the characters have something in their past that they regret and it shows how differently they try to confront it so they can move on. I’m sorry if it isn’t some generic smiley happy Marvel wannabe show with pop culture references up the ass and jokes that ruin emotional or dramatic moments because you’re too much of a child to handle any darkness of any description. Those themes and the struggles the characters went through were relatable and resonated with a lot of people. So to see this mature story being turned into an actual cartoon felt really insulting. It actively feels like the people who made this hated the original.

It probably means that every instrument and/or performer from the original Tank song that was present on the day it was recorded is in this video.

@@zettonhz Very unlikely, but also, what they're saying is that this isn't the full arrangement of the song, but rather a shortened version that excludes the sax solo and other segments of the full arrangement, which is 3:30 in length, whereas this is under 2 minutes long. (also, this isn't even an actual new recording, it's basically lip syncing because the audio you hear is just a remastered edit of the original 1998 recording)

Lalo was not bebop, but I see where you're going, he was amazing. The Seatbelts are simply genius as well, been listening to this since forever. Just don't think it's as linear as this, it can sometimes sound like John Zorn, Naked City, and other experimental/avantgarde groups.

Make yourself a favor and listen other Yoko Kanno OSTs like Brain Powerd, Wolf's Rain, Macross Plus, Napple Tale, Ragnarok Online II, Escaflowne, Nobunaga's Ambition...these all are better than Cowboy Bebop soundtrack

@@Ayoalow_34 I've watched the anime at least 20 times in my life. Watched the movie in theater when it was first released. Loved the live action and can't wait for more. It was incredibly well done. Have watched it through twice now with another viewing of the full anime in between. Anime is one of the greatest ever and I feel the live action is amazing as well. I don't understand the hate at all. But then again I hate most ppl so it's no surprise I don't agree with them.
