It’s actually unsettling to know that certain people feel the song imagine is a threat of sorts….what the hell. The people that are pushing this idea are not good people…they seem sinister to me.
Yoko doesn't deserve the hate people have thrown her way over the years because of her relationship with John Lennon. Why do some people care so much that they loved each other and worked together? It's perfectly fine to hate the art but unfair to hate the artist when they've done nothing to deserve it.
She would never have been heard of it if were not for Lennon. Had you heard of her???? Chat shows, art and recording contracts, films, without John? No!!!! She just used him as a stepping stone and jumped on the bandwagon after he died.
I believe Lennon loved her for her vulnerability and her odd need to upset people with art. Yet I think he knew she was a gamer out for his money...still, he seemed to allow it all as he wanted to be controlled and have a strong willed woman handle their needs. What bothers me about her is how she continues to pretend she was naive about who he was.
He had enough money, so I don't suppose this was a problem, but her story about not having heard of the Beatles - only Ringo, as it is Japanese for apple, is tosh. Ringo was only ever mentioned in context with the Beatles, so she must have heard of them. When was Ringo mentioned on his own? He was the LEAST important and good looking of them all, so unlikely to get individual attention - John and Paul were the main characters.

Why is everyone still down on Yoko after all these years? John has been gone since 1980, and Sean is a grown adult now. Why the continued hatred for Yoko? I love her.
They are just nasty. She's been through hell. Maybe because she is the sort of person John would love and since they are not like her themselves they figure John would not like them so they attack her out of some sense of entitlement? I'm not even a huge fan of all her music like I was Johns but I like some of her conceptual art and her as a person I have lots of empathy for her but can't understand why there is so much resentment. She got falsely blamed about the band break up too so maybe that is it they prefer projecting their dislike of that on to her rather than the members of the group. They neglect the fact none of Johns solo stuff would exist had he not left and married her.
@@AnnaLVajda strong internalized misogyny and a disdain for an Asian woman leveraging success off of the most popular white male figure of the 60's. this is all magnified by her eccentric, rebellious and happy-go-lucky attitude. i think it's just so easy to hate her especially as a beatles fan and even not as one she's perceived to be an easy target susceptible to western contempt just for the fact she is unbothered and avant-garde- but i reckon that as a sensational thought-provoker this is exactly what she had expected everything to pan out.
When the movie GET BACK was released on DISNEY she immediately released a statement saying that it “proved” that she did not break up the Beatles…………..
We live in such a fast paced society today that even though one only has time to glimpse her name, "Yoko Ono" still holds weight and stands for all memories of her and John Lennon, peace marches and activism for human rights. Today she stands for even more including not letting age hinder you from continuing to fight for what you believe in. Live long and prosper Yokomites!

You would have loved Hitler then. I hear he was very nice to his wife. What did you expect, that Yoko would be a full-time monster? She had to have had some kind of charm to hook 3 husbands to use them. But the things that she did were very mean , especially to Julian, a child, for no apparent reason. She has no right to still be interfering with Beatles affairs and that's what she has continued to do, for remaining fans its hard to accept. The main reasons are 1.She would critique the Beatles about their music during the recordings of Abbey Road and The White Album(mainly Johns fault) and the fact that she still holds rights over Beatles songwriting legalities-when she has no business to.

what killed lennon was a combination of mental illness and an insane gun law policy in the US. the hate aimed at his peace loving, intellectual wife was motivated by character assassination created by women hating racists, so they were different kinds of victimizations, but both assassinations.
I really really wish someone would have the guts to ask her, why exactly did she screw John Lennon’s English Family. Especially Julian. This woman has spent years rewriting history. There has been unexpected gains in her so-called popularity due to the fact that people’s grief over losing John carried over in kindness toward her. And her PR people tell the interviewer EXACTLY what to say when introducing her. She is in charge of what they can or can’t ask her too. That’s why so much is left unsaid.
Her answers to the questions of her memories/ thoughts of WW2 don't make any sense or very vague. She would have been awfully young during that time. The same with her answer when asked about the Fluxus art movement, I finally had to look it up . I try to be be open minded about her but sometimes IDK . The interview is very weird.

Well this con artist has succeeded. She has fans. She has admirers. She has worked tirelessly through the decades to erase the unpleasant, ugly history of her life and replace it with a more self serving image of a long suffering, self sacrificing woman who only fell in love with a great man and was loved in returned by that great man, and was wrongley perceived as undeserving of his love by his massive following. For those that do care but don't know, here is a brief summary of the deeds the merry widow, Keeper of the Flame of the crusading martyr of Love, Peace, and Understanding 1. She attempted suicide when her 1st husband Toshi Ichinyanagi, a concert pianist achieved acclaim and accolades but her mediocre "art" was rejected and ignored by the Japanese people. Her parents and husband had her placed in a mental hospital. She later explained that Japanese society was patriarchial and sexist which was the reason that her art was not accepted. 2. She got pregnant in the mental hospital by a man she claims she knew nothing about but was a "fan" of her art while she was a struggling obscure artist in New York, He helped her "checkout"(escape) the mental hospital and she divorced husband #1 to marry her "fan" Tony Cox. 3. She dumped Cox and abandon their daughter Kyoko to chase after Beatle John Lennon a man she claimed she knew nothing about and never heard of but wanted the kind of fame and recognition for herself and her art that Lennon had. She didn't care that Lennon's 1st wife Cyn and his 5 yr old son Julian came home from visiting family to find them naked, freshly fucked and Yoko wearing Cyn's robe sipping tea. She divorced Cox, left Kyoko to live care free and child free with Lennon and wanted to be a member of the Beatles but was refused by the Paul, George and Ringo. She was so angry by the rejection she became a disruptive force in the studio undermining all efforts at cohesive collaboration. 4. She eventually married Lennon and had him constantly praising and parading her everywhere to showcase her "artistic and musical talents". Most of his fans recoiled from her "talents" a rejection she decried as racist sexism, and had Lennon parrot, because she was not blond and white. 5. During interviews on national tv she claimed (or had Lennon claim) that her beloved daughter Kyoko was being kept from her by her heartless ex husband and that she and Lennon searched the world over to find Kyoko, sometimes using mystical means,(they never mention Yoko willingly left her daughter so she could take up with Lennon. Without having her daughter around she didn't want Lennon's son Julian around either because it hurt her and reminded her that her own child wasn't around. 6.When Lennon was murdered and she had to tell her 5 yr old son Sean of his father's death, he tried to comfort her and told her not to worry and then went off to cry in his room.Yoko thinking that he handled it so well went about doing other things until the hired help had to tell her that her little boy was crying his eyes out alone in his room. It never occured to a 50 yr old Yoko that her son needed to be comforted, consoled and reassured after being told by her that his father was dead. He also claims (later as a young man) that nothing and no one comes before Yoko and her art or creative process, including himself. The information is out there in youtube, interviews, books, articles for those that want to know why so many people distrust and dislike Yoko. Watch the Real Yoko Ono on RU-vid. It's a glory piece she produced but reveals some disturbing facts about how truely self centered and narcissistic this woman truely is and has always been.
+Pete Wing Nut according to Fred Seaman, Yoko heavily encouraged John's estrangement with Julian. when Julian did stay with Lennon in 1979, Yoko ordered Seaman not to buy Julian anything or treat him like hes special in any way.. Julian had to stand by and watch Sean being lavished with love and gifts

Doesn't even get into how she cunningly kept John in America (isolated), cremated John against his wishes, kept Julian's inheritance from him, snatched the one guitar John had given to Julian while still alive, wouldn't let May Pang see him for 3 days after his "smoking hypnosis" because he was supposedly so tired, and the list just goes on and on. And on. A very selfish greedy manipulative narcissist who used people for her own best outcomes. She used May Pang, pimping her out to John - today that would be called an abusive workplace. Yoko was a controller of others.

The interviewer also skipped over her first two marriages and attempted suicide and subsequent hospital time in a mental ward after her 1st marriage failed.
Yoko doesn't seem to be very good at describing her past experiences in the 'avant-garde' art world. She doesn't display much insight about those times or the people that she worked with.
I think the vitriol against Yoko is racist sexist claptrap because she is a strong outspoken intelligent and creative Asian woman out there who takes a stand on political and environmental issues and doesn't confirm to people trying to put her in her 'place'.
People hate Yoko Ono because she presents as a narcissist. A lot don’t recognize narcissism because narcissist have a way of creating a strong first impression. Narcissist are not recognized at the first encounter. They deceive most people most of the time. Only when you know more about these sick personalities and have know one personally with the same traits you are aware of the destructive and toxic nature of a relation with a narcissist. I suspect her to be that, judging by a few of her actions when she was winning John over and what she did to Julian after his dad died. I don’t really know her so I cannot be sure. But then again, I don’t know Trump personally and it’s quite clear he is one.
Long Way Blacknight It’s got nothing to do with race. 1) Yoko had an affair with John- which in itself isn’t the point, it was that she slept with him in Cynthia’s bed and then wore Cynthia’s robe , and was there when Cynthia came home and caught them. Yoko (and John) didn’t even try to hide it and acted like it was no big deal and made Cynthia feel like SHE was the intruder. 2) She insinuated herself into the fab 4- and started criticizing or making suggestions / advice during recording sessions ( again John could’ve stopped it - but didn’t) Yes you see some footage where Linda was present during sessions- but she didn’t butt in and wasn’t trying to tell THE BEATLES how to do their job. 3) She (from what I’ve read thro go the years , introduced John to Heroin. 4) She manipulated John into ignoring his son Julian. Again- John is also at fault , as he could’ve stood up to her. 5) She didn’t give Julian (his first son) any of his fathers things after John died. She had an auction for Johns personal belongings , and made it so if Julian wanted his fathers things- he had to buy them. Having n written all that- I’m a Beatles fan AND, a John and Yoko fan. But Yoko (and John) made poor choices in the past. But those reasons I gave are why people don’t like her. It’s not because they’re racist. John at one point during the marriage to Yoko had an affair with May Pang- an Asian - and they LOVED her
@@dawnfalvey6766 You are right. When John was with May - the lost weekend - he was healthy and creative. As soon as he got permission to come back Yoko made sure she got pregnant. She really was into witchcraft. John’s love for her can be explained by what is called a trauma bond with a narcissistic partner. It is a very cleverly manipulated relation. It’s extremely hard to not buy into that. No one should be blamed for being lured in by a narcissist especially when they haven’t been lived enough as a child like John has been or when they had a narcissist parent. I suspect Aunt Mimi was a bit of a narcissist herself. She kind of stole John from her sister who was a single parent. That was not acceptable in that time and Mimi was married but the uncle died.
