Yolanda has always known how to forget there's anyone even in the room and just go straight before the most and Only Worthy God Jesus Christ Amen 🙌💯❤️!! Hallelujah
this was AMAZING 🙌 Yolanda is always AMAZING. But can we talk about these BACKGROUND singers? they were PHENOMENAL 🙌🙏❤🔥🌟 ON POINT the whole time! (even in the Kelly Price set when she had to change the music up) THEY WERE AWESOME 💯 sum of these NEGATIVE comments about them... REALLY 😒😕 last time I checked they were #ESSENCE GO TO BACKGROUND SINGERS #ijs 😕💁
If she would have kept that "power, power, power, power" going at 3:10 for just a few more seconds, the house would have been DUMPED! I felt a shift coming.. it was about to be some trouble
Those background singers are very experienced. They are Essence go to singers. If you caught Kim Burrell's tribute at Essence last year...it's the same set of singers. Yolanda is very strict with her BG...she does not like them to stray away.
+Darell J. Hunt yeah I was saying the same thing bcuz them babies can BLOW! They background for a lot of people and I was amazed! Hearing them live last year at Kim Burrell's tribute they killed. You should check them out and look em up!
They can hang with Kim because she's contemporary. This music was above them to me. The blend, power and tone didn't work for me. They're talented of course, but this wasn't their lane.
+Darell J. Hunt Same background singers singing behind Yolanda Adams last year. I think it was the arrangement that I didn't care for. Out of all the tributes this one wasn't stellar....good but not stellar.
3:10-3:41.. I'm SPEECHLESS!! But what were those background singers doing? If I was the director, they'd be repeating "with the pow-.. (With the power) Of the Ho... (Of the Ho-ly Ghost) as Lady Adams went IN!
+George Potts Young Darling this isn't a battle between you and I. It's a general observance that anyone with an ear can make. Pump your breaks and take the critique and quit blaming stuff on the spirit. This was not being negative. I gave your singers the compliment and truth of what the moment was.
Darling? Lol. If you think it was necessary for you to comment, then you really have a problem. It's tacky for someone who doesn't have the platform, to try and critique someone who does. It's not about what you think...you control the platform you do have. Making statements without information, makes you look ignorant. We stuck to what we were TOLD to do. "If I was the director..." is the saddest statement ever. You're not the director though... :-)
out of all the tributes this was the only one that was shaky n im surprised..she should've did miracle like she did at another tribute for them yrs ago.
Yolanda killed this song and ministered through the process, so I don’t know what you were hearing. She was one of the only anointed tributes that night. But to each his own..... she always comes and gives God’s people inspiration as well as encouragement
their age doesn't matter. as long as they know their music and they definitely knew all the music for every artist. The breaks and pauses better than some if the artist performing
Wayne Ohmar Yeah, but especially on this song, some of the voice quality is disappointing. They did a great job, but I can't help feeling that Essence didn't get experienced professionals for this that could've served to the Clark Sisters' legacy better.
Yolanda is amazing and these babies are singers, but I would've preferred older background singers in this moment. They seemed unsure. This was still good overall!!
Yes, all of the singers I use are young. They're amazing, great spirits, great voices, and did a great job. They weren't unsure. Things don't always go as planned, especially when the spirit moves. You prefer older singers, I prefer people not to be negative...the great thing is, on your programs that you host, present, or produce...you can always use more seasoned singers. Until then... :-)
+George Potts Young yes actually I do. If you read with comprehension you will see that I complimented your singers. I also mentioned that we could attest the issue with pitch to the mics. At 2:30 we couldn't clearly hear them ascend into the chord. One can see the singers move and adjust their posture with the mics. This is also from someone's phone. Either way, the voices seemed unsure at those points of the song. When I grew up singing in church and when I went to college there wasn't a spirit of "lemme clap you up all day", but there was the discipline to make ones gift its strongest. People aren't hating on you. They are basically expressing what they heard.
