Before leaving Sacramento, I decided to make a pit stop in West Sacramento, which is home to a transit agency known as Yolobus. Something that fascinated me about their fleet is that they still operate a good amount of 2002 Orion VII OG CNG buses, yes, 2002. Although in recent years newer gillig buses have been delivered, the Orion OGs are showing no signs of slowing down, and still look like new, despite having a whopping 22 years of service under its belt, which is unprecedented, even by my standards, since most of you guys probably know about how FAX still operates three 2005 C40LF buses, which, despite being 19 years old, are showing their age, have begun being phased out since 2020, and are expected to be replaced in the coming months. Anyway, back to Yolobus. Here’s 734, one of their Orion VII buses at the West Sacramento Transit Center.
