Would love to see a 2023 round up where you go over your favorite rackets in each category, i.e., speed, control, and power. Preferably with your favorites in each category at different price points.
I just purchased the wide version of the Eclipsion Z3 and the grip is the worst I used from any Yonex shoe that I have used in the past (Comfort Z3, SHB-65 xmx, power cushion shb-sc5mx). They fit well and seem to have good build quality, but the outsole just doesn't grip (used on sport court). They slip when flat and are like ice skates if you get slightly on the edge. They are an injury waiting to happen.
I like the new 65Z C-90 design color but the durability seems to be poorer compared to the (non-sustainable) material 65Z. I have had 3 pairs of the 65Z series before buying this pair. I find the inner part of the left foot (i'm a right handed player) wears out much faster compared to the original materials. Also, anecdotally I feel the cushioning doesn't last as long as the original shoes neither. I probably won't pick up another pair if designed with similar material.
I previously had 65r3 before having the eclipsion z3, I immediately felt more stable on my steps but when I wear my 65r3 again I felt it providing me more agility on court compared to the eclipsion.
How about the victorA970 one where LZJ wears? I've seen some reviews online it's better than 65z3. Saw some local club players here wearing them a lot along with the 65z3 including myself.
@@huynhxuanviet9818 both the insole and outsole of Claw 1 and claw 2 are paper thin🙃 definitely not for people who are on the heavier side. I learn it the hard way.
I heard that yonex is also gonna launch a new astrox 88 series sometime in 2024 on top of the NF Nextage in jan and the white 65Z3s in march. quite excited for that if it’s true!
To compare with, any recommendation of model of badminton shoes from other brands (Like Victor, Lining, Mizuno) with similar fitting with 65Z3 for replacement?
For anyone looking for size advice for the Eclipsion Z's: I'm a UK size 11 (in Nike) but I ordered these in 11 1/2 (as it's recommended to go a half size up in Yonex shoes). But size 11 would have been perfect for me as there's a lot of space in the toe with the 11 1/2's, but they still fit fine and don't feel at all like they're too big. Better a 1/2 size too big than 1/2 size too small.

The 65 z3 are great but i found the rubber to chip off near the edges of the shoe. If they can improve the durability and retain the grip, then they’ll have the perfect shoe. In addition, i found the part where i drag my foot near the upper wears out quickly so i feel a more durable section is much needed.
@@CKYew I play mainly on victor and yonex badminton mat courts, very rarely on wood. The chunks of rubber that fell of doesn’t noticeably affect performance but it doesn’t really give me peace of mind in terms of durability.
Not a big fan of the colour of the 65 Z C-90, so I'll stick with my black pair. But I saw pictures of the white with silver version, and those look incredible!
I would love to see a RU-vid short where you go a little more in depth about stringing the cross strings at a higher tension than the mains. Why do some players string at a greater difference in tension between the cross and mains. Is that due to the difference in the shape of many racquet models and should I only string the cross higher than the mains after first stringing the cross and mains at the same tension. Some say it’s to keep it back to the same shape but some say to keep it as the shape it originally is.

Hi ck, what the best shoes for heel support in your opinion? Currently using shb65 c90, but my heel hurts after playing 3 hours session. Or maybe power cushion insole can help? Thx!
I have the same problem, but I don't really feel it when i'm on court, only afterwards. But apart from that I love them, I definitely feel more confident as a new player (11 months) in them. I previously had Karakal ProLite shoes, which I wouldn't recommend.
When it comes to comfort and cushioning, eclipsion z or comfort z series? Looking for more support to prevent potential knee injuries also more durable. Thank you!
I see so many pros use the 65Z3 and i don't know why even though the Eclipsion Z3 is better than 65Z3 in every way?? And may i ask, which one is better for playing both indoors and outdoors because im usually mixing between indoors and outdoors, thank you
Generally, I would recommend you to measure your foot size with a ruler with badminton socks on. Then pick the correct shoe size based on your measurement. I have a shoe size chart for yonex on my blog at ckyew.com/blog
I initially had that thought too but once u slip them on and get them on the court and compare it to budget shoes, you wl understand why the price is so high
