Yonkers City Council Wasicsko v Spallone v Condon 

This footage is incredible. "Show Me A Hero" was far less exaggerated than I expected. Also, I must admit, it's nice to see Wasicko throw a few punches.

This is so awesome to see one of the real council meetings. Just started watching the HBO series and there really is no exaggeration. I was a kid when this happened living in the Bronx where Yonkers was a hop, skip and a jump away and had no idea this was happening but not surprised at all.

It's amazing what good drama does- I was a young man living in Los Angeles when this all went down and knew nothing of it- I'm fascinated by the real footage after watching the miniseries- There are so many important events in this country's history that I don't know about- I'm glad to finally know about this one-

"You, Mr. Spallone, are a shameless demagogue, and no one has done more to hurt this city in the past 18 months, than you... rhetoric will have to stop, and action will have to be taken." I read an interview about the series based on this, "Show Me A Hero," where David Simon said people would think he and his cowriters had exaggerated what happened... well this is pretty similar to the production. Oscar Isaac (who plays Wasisco) is an actor I'll be paying attention to, though Alfred Molina's performance as Spallone was also great.

Spallone outside of the HBO series seems a lot more articulate than how he was portrayed in the series (as much as I still don't care for his positions)

Show Me A Hero brought me here. It’s pretty chilling to see that young mayor knowing the story and that he took his own life. Very sad. PS: If anything the series understated just how charged the situation was.

I love this KJ....and the miniseries has been pretty good.

I'm 35 and don't know what was going on but all I know was the old schools I seen or heard what they use to be were great schools to old timers....the south side is a shit hole for the poor then and still is,I worked very hard to get out the slum

Spallone is such a walking cliché

Such an unfortunate thing that they let happen to our city ....they just started now to restore parts of southern Yonkers...and home owners now avoid offering government housing at all cost
