While you were sleeping: Yonkers Getty Square was burning down!
Yesterday at around 10:45pm the YFD received a call that smoke could be seen on 5 South Broadway (Getty Square). Once they arrived the smoke on the 99 Cent Store next to the McDonald was a full blown fire, with in the hour this incident was escalated to a 5 Alarm and soon after to a General Fire.
A witness reports that he saw a homeless man throw something into the 99Cent Store and shortly after he noticed smoke and he called 911.
