I only just saw this now (probably because of all the yooka-laylee videos I have been watching since I recently started playing the game).... I'm really late lol.
EileMonty I think I've rewatched this video, like, five times, and that line might be the heart of why. Your delivery and the character's expressions were great. Loved it.
EileMonty Easily one of my new favorite voice actresses. I loved that line more than anything else in the video, and the cartoon itself was magnificent. Truly great job and I hope you get to do some kind of voice work for Laylee in the future!!
iluvallmychao0071 Sadly, unless Playtonic (the original team of Banjo et al / this game) or Nintendo gets their rights, they're as good as dead. Considering how Yuka Laylee is shaping up, it'd be nice if Playtonic gets it, then we'd have a sweet crossover of all four!
Rare/Microsoft would never give up those rights. They'd be more likely to make a proper Banjo-Kazooie sequel on their own if Yooka-Laylee is successful. You know, to jump on the money train with a recognized franchise. The American entertainment industry loves nothing more than a franchise they can milk.
It's a note door. Notes can be found in every level (100 in each level), and these doors are in the hub world, they need to collect the amount of notes on the door to advance.
This video is pretty spot on with the characters when the official trailer (w/ dialogue) just dropped a few days ago. I'm surprised they got Yooka's mellow behavior, Laylee's snarkiness (the British accent was a bonus), and Trowzer's smugness down so packed.
***** I think a lot of people mishear the British cockney accent as Australian. Though they can sometimes sound similar. But I believe Laylee's British, as it would make since, the game is developed by a UK company.
The version of these characters in this cartoon are infinitely better than the game. The bat is actually likable, and the lizard has a point to exist. Their personalities actually fit the designs and work toghter. What went wrong we'll never know.
Maybe this is just me being picky, but I really think the final game could do with some of the character design in this short. Laylee as is right now looks like she's on all the crack. Maybe it's just me but I really like this version. Very much Kazooie's spiritual successor.
Neko Alpha Gamer Banjo had a voice actor? Where does he speak at? I've only known of "huks" and "guffaws", I don't think that really counts (nobody ever talks about "Link's voice actor")
I come back to it every once in a while. This animation is so good, it motivates me to draw. Thank you really much for making it! I wish it could become a real series.
mashed No worries dude, I really enjoyed it!!! Most excellent work! By the way, I'd love to have a chat with you guys if you have a way to contact you. Been meaning to get in touch for ages! :D
"Trowser SNAKE?" - "Ha-ha, YES!" I love how triumphantly he said that. Like he made up the joke himself and is SO proud of it. lol Trowser Snake, but I'm sure his friends call him Richard.
Thomas Drake I'll explain, penises are often associated with other thin-like lengthy objects/animals (snake, worm, sword, pipe, hammer etc) Trowsers are a type of pants, so a snake in trowsers is a metaphor for a penis. Therefore Trowser is literally a dick-joke.
At first I was like "What a cute and cool cartoon! Such nice voices and animation!" then the ending came "well damn.. that took a dark turn real quick-"
Sam Green MMMMMMMMMMMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEQQQQQQQQQQQQUUUUUUUUUUWWWWEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTFFFFFFFFFFIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Those voices are absolutely perfect. Especially Laylee's but they are fit wonderfully. Needs to be a full animated series or alternate voices DLC for the game, sequel even? Wonderful job.
For those who didn't understand the ending:Yooka and Laylee went into banjo kazooie and beated it 100% so Banjo and Kazooie didn't have honeycombs, notes, jiggies etc. to collect.Poor guys!
Yoshi gamer 57 thank god. Now I understand what are you saying. After researching RU-vid for Banjo-Kazooie's collection of notes and reading the comment this video.
The animation quality looks like something straight out of a TV studio. Apparently the animator is a brony who's spent years emulating MLP's animation style. Neat.
Also... Trowser here oddly enough reminds me of Fang the Sniper... something about the way he talks and his design (specifically the head area) really reminds me of him.
I loved this so freaking much, I had to watch it a second time. Those voices are perfect too! Great work as always =) EDIT: Also that comedic timing is freaking great. I was all smiles the whole way through. Heh...Trowzer Snake...
I've come to the conclusion that EileMonty is actually a pile of gnomes wearing human clothes, because there's no possible way one person can do all the different voices I've heard her do.
I don't know either. Nitpicky probably. I felt it was an okay spiritual successor honestly. I'd love to see what else Playtonic can do if after this first project. :) Still love this game regardless. :)
Now we know why there will never be a proper Banjo-Threeie... Still looking forward to Yooka-Laylee nonetheless. Will it be the next Banjo-Kazooie? Only time will tell.
Trouser Snake. That character is classic RARE ladies and gentlemen. Feels so good to see some of the old guard making a proper title worthy of the legacy again!
The Toontastic Toon Yes, they're a particular breed found in Australia, I believe. img.swifty.com/slides/4/1/1/5/1/7/4115176169/f83961893daa126abc5f74ad0efcf29a585af1e5.jpeg
Or, you know, it could just be an attempt to charm a female customer with old school chivalry. (Sincere or not, but Trouser doesn't seem the truly sinister sort.)
