Morning Tina. Thank you for showing us around York and taking us on your train journey. It looks a lovely city. I must visit soon. How lovely that you were able to meet face to face with Karen. Hopefully that will be the first meeting of many to come xxx
Hi Tina. I loved your video as always and brought back lovely memories of York for me it’s such a beautiful city. I did wonder why there was a queue outside the ghost shop when I was there but one of your lovely subscribers explained so that was good to know. It was lovely to see you meeting up with your friend too. I love all your videos you always make me smile. Have a lovely Sunday 🥰💕💕
Brought back lovely memories of a long weekend in York a couple of years ago when we saw most of the sites and I think you did walk down The Shambles as that’s where I remember seeing the ghost shop. 😊
Thank you Tina I enjoyed this vlog, lots of memories , did the train journey from Accrington to Halifax many times when my brother lived in Halifax , Love York spent some happy times there in the past , love Hebden Bridge , I also have to comment on the top?dress you were wearing for the intro, it looked good on you .x
Was wondering about the Post this week because I haven't had any. That could be because of train strike as you say that I didn't know about. I agree. We don't realise what a beautiful country we live in. York is looking good with plenty of visitors coming and keeping shops open. I visited Glasgow last week and was shocked to see so many shops gone. Debenhams being the latest. In the end only places tourists visit will be kept nice. For a moment I thought you meant supposed to look for real cats then you said architecture.
Hi Tina. Great tour of York. Given me some ideas for our visit next Monday, can't wait. So good for you to meet up with Karen. Should imagine you found loads to talk about xx
I never tire of looking at York. I'm a Yorkshire lass (okay, pensioner!) and luckily manage to get there for a day every year. The Ghost Shop - well, it sells ghosts! If you can imagine a small pottery ornament around 6 inches tall, like the ghosts with a sheet over the head and two eye slots, that's what they are. What makes them special (and expensive!) is that they're made by both local and famous artists. Imagine the whole shop full of them, as well as collectors items, and that's what it's all about. My daughter has three, and that's the amount of hours you have to queue outside to get one. I think that's to stop theft, as once you get it, it's personal one to one service. I made my daughter laugh last Christmas when I told her that the closest I got to having a ghost was a candle bought at the market!
That was so lovely you look so Happy to have finally met Karen cheers to you both Keep up the wonderful work work xxx lovely day in London x I’m off to feed my adopted Ducks 🦆
Great vlog love York such a pretty place lots of nice individual shops. My hubby is into trains so last we had afternoon tea in the railway carriage in the museum rather than Betty’s it was lovely. Nice that you met Karen . Like your hair a bit shorter looks very nice . X
Lovely to see York from your camera. Can I just say you did walk down the Shambles the famous street…. it was where the Gost shop was. I’m only 25 mins from York, don’t go tat often. A boat ride on the river is fabulous, I did that for my 50th birthday many moons ago xx
We took the train to York last May from London. We were visiting from America. We really liked it there. We stayed at the Moxi Hotel. Cool place but tiny rooms. The countryside is so beautiful. There really are some cool little places. We wanted to go I. The ghost store but the que was too long. They are pretty famous. I saw it on Instagram. They sell all kinds of little ghost characters and such.
How do you distinguish the difference between a Lancashire and a Yorkshire accent Tina? I find our regional accents fascinating. We had our honeymoon in York 46 yrs ago. Time to revisit I think!
I love York Tina xx it’s so beautifully quaint and British x I went to Shrewsbury last Friday with a friend and they’ve shut the Christmas shop 😢😢 but again a lovely part of the country x
Hi Tina, thank you for your video of York and the journey from your home. I hope you enjoyed your visit, and conference, and meeting up with fellow RU-vid cloggers. Coincidently I was in York on Tuesday 14/5 to meet up with friends for lunch. You covered quite a lot of it, and I hope it convinced viewers what a lovely city it is, although a big tourist attraction. There are several Park and Ride areas if going by car, as a cheap and convenient way to travel into the city. You showed one of the main street attractions of York, the Shambles, a cobbled street where the ghost shop is situated. As can be seen, many people make a point of visiting it. The river featured is know to cause flooding and a well known pub called The Kings Arms shows the flood levels on the walls. As you mentioned it is a good place to visit with many attractions in the city and the surrounding area.
Hi Tina, lovely vlog showing us round York and the train journey, im only half hour train journey to Hebden or 1 hour on the bus it's a lovely little place to visit, your hair looks lovely have you gone shorter? 😊😊
