Having served my time as a marine fitter I have worked on a lot of Gardner diesel engines,I also did a trip on the Yorkshire Belle many years ago from Scarborough.
Sailed on the Yorkshire Belle as far back as 1954. We were entertained by an accordianist who accompanied us with a song, titled (I presume) " Bobbing up and down like this". I was interveiwed for my Primary school that year (age 4). When asked if I could sing a song (or something) I promply broke into "Sons of the sea my boys, bobbing up and down like this",I got the job!) Fond memories of the Y.B. Long may she sail. David.
