We were looking for a breakfast buffet place and after a search online, Toby seemed to be the best value and had interesting dishes like Yorkshire puddings and potato hash. They were also open early enough for us.
The last time we had a Toby breakfast was many years ago, and we returned to the Chadderton branch where we were overall very impressed with the offerings - staff were friendly, food was cooked fresh and the Yorkshire puddings and hash browns were nice and crisp.

After this, we were eager to return to Toby but made the mistake of visiting the Hoole Village branch in Chester which wasn't great. Staff were unwelcoming, hash browns were hard and stale, hash was rubbery, and the Yorkshire puddings had no onions or bacon bits in. Food was also generally lukewarm.

It's a shame that the quality in the offering was not consistent across the branches, but we now know which Toby branch to avoid in future!
Find a decent Toby branch near you and get ready for a heart attack on a plate (or a few plates)!!
