► Located in the western Sierra Nevada of Central California, bounded on the southeast by the Sierra National Forest and on the northwest by the Stanislaus National Forest; lies a beautiful vast wilderness that attracts over 4 million people every year. Officially, federally protected in 1864, and later declared a National Park on the 1st of October 1890 by a Congressional act, the Yosemite National Park was officially born.
This expansive land, covering almost 1,200 squares miles was officially designated as a world heritage site in 1984. Perhaps best known for its captivating waterfalls, it’s also famous for its clear streams, ancient and giant sequoia groves, it’s lakes, mountains, meadows and glaciers. It is also home to one of the worlds natural wonders; Yosemite Valley. According to nationalgeographic.com:
“This Valley stretches 8 miles from east to west with granite walls more than twice the height of the Empire State Building. Carved by glacial dynamics and weathering and erosion spanning 30 million years. This is a wonder of the natural world.”
The National Park Service describes the Valley as a “shrine to human foresight with the strength of its granite, its persistence of life and the tranquillity of the High Sierra.” But not all is tranquil in the National Park. Yosemite National Park, in recent times has also become well known for its disappearances that many claim to be unusual.

Ive worked in this park, for the department of interior and the park itself. The scariest time was working in the back country cutting brush for trails. If you were left alone for any length of time an erie sense would come over you. Ive lived in big cities, the country, small towns, big towns. Ive never felt that feeling, of being watched but not being able to tell who, where, what, was the creapiest feeling ive ever had. I hope to never feel it again.

During your time there did you ever personally witness something you couldn't explain? Also, did your fellow workers ever tell you about anything weird or unexplainable? Or was it just that gut feeling of fight or flight without a source or something to explain it? I've never been to Yosemite as an adult and don't remember my visit as a child. It was just a stop on a family road trip to San Diego.

I've hiked as part of a group, backpacked with a partner and done day hikes solo. As a female, now middle aged, I've always been aware there might be issues due to other people with bad intent, wild animals or just falling and hurting myself on solos. Sometimes I would get bad feelings about a trail, most times not. One time, pulling into a trailhead I noticed 1 car already there. I started hiking - it was very remote, I saw no other people and a feeling of unease slowly grew in me. I thought I'd keep pushing on, but that feeling kept getting stronger until a voice in my head: 'turn around and leave now!' got louder and louder. At this point I decided I would listen, turned around and booked it out of there as fast as I could, looking around the entire time, sure something was going to come at me from somewhere. I broke out into a run during the last flat portion and couldn't get into my car fast enough. I never saw anyone or anything - that one car was still there - but I listened to the voice.

100%. The first instinct is correct 99% of the time as well. I think its cool that our brains r wired to know about dangers and bad situations before we r even consciously aware of the danger being there. And I always tell people, if u feel like ur being watchedthen u 100% r. I forget what its called but we r wired to absolutely know when we have someone or something watching us, even if we cant see it. Listening to my brain telll me im being watched even tho I didnt want to, has saved my ass on numerous occasions.

Ive also noticed, after being in 9 car wrecks ( all with other people driving except for one time), about 30 seconds before the wreck actually happens, for no obvious reason, my heart goes to my stomach, my ears ring, and every light whether it be from another car or somewhere else becomes so bright that it puts a weird fear in me. When this happens now, I pull over or make the person driving pull over and wait until the lights go back to normal, the ringing stops, and my heart goes back where it should be.

I've backpacked all over the US for 30 years and took my girlfriend for an overnight trip on the Yosemite north rim. We made our own campsite in a remote area miles off the Tioga main road and settled in for the night. We hung the food canisters off a cliff in the opposite direction to keep animals out of our camp. We were totally alone. It's common to hear noises in the forest at night, usually wind moving the trees and the occasional wild animal. That night was clear and a dead calm - until 1am when sounds of large tree branches being picked up, snapped in half, and dragged were heard about 50 yards behind our tent. It repeated several times for 20 minutes. It remained pitch black - no moon, no human voices or lights. Typical forest animals black bear, deer, possum don't make an unholy racket in the middle of the black night. I didn't sleep a wink until dawn. We headed back early morning and that was the last camping in that part of Yosemite. Thank you all for the comments split between known explanations (wild animals), and unexplained phenomena (cryptids). -We were not near any water source. Beavers frequent the valley floor and Merced River, and several of the lakes in southern Yosemite. 3,000' above the valley floor on a dry hillside is way out of beaver territory. -We purposely did not go into Tenaya Canyon because of the long history of lost and disappearing hikers. -The native Ahwahnechee Indians referenced energy fields between the mammoth Granite rock structures and hydrology of the many falls. Legend says the Wendigo spirit and supernatural phenomena work through and around these places

I think it's interesting that you heard trees being torn down. I saw footage of a construction site near a forest. The construction workers were frightened to see a yeti picking up very large trees and throwing them. I wonder if these mysterious creatures have anything to do with the sounds you heard and the disappearances. Maybe you guys were spared because you stayed together. I see a pattern in the missing, they're always alone. Things that make ya go hmm. That's old school, right? Ha

There are many unexplained phenomenon that most people will never truly understand. Wether people are dissappearing due to a Sasquatch, Aliens, Angels or Demons remains a mystery to most especially since its been stated that most of those of who have dissapeared , not much is left behind. It is as if these victims fell off the face of the earth. Perhaps there is a portal to another dimension deep in these remote woods sort of like another Bermuda Triangle hmmmmmm.

This is gonna sound crazy but I hope there’s someone else who experienced this. I went there to visit last fall 2018 & I decided to take a hike alone. It was around 9am when I started the trail. Along the way I started to feel uneasy then incredibly serene, thoughtless, just peaceful out of no where. A thick fog fell over the path I was walking and as I was walking it seemed to get thick and thicker. I sat for about what I felt was 30-40 mins. & because of the fog it was difficult to see but I’m not first time hiker so I knew my route back. When I got back to the start of the trail ( which was only an hour back) it was 630 PM ! All my calls and texts started to influx at the same time as if I had no service but I expected that.. there was NO WAY I spent that many hours on that hike. To this day I have no idea what happened. If I got delusions or if something unexplainable just happened.

I live 3 hours from Yosemite and have visited and hiked there all my life. I never felt threatened or weird on a trail. I have hiked all over the park alone as a teenager without incident. Lots of fun and good, helpful people on every trail. It's the code of the trail. Some bears at night, but mostly deer; maybe a coyote once in a while. All of them are afraid of people. Never had a problem. I understand that some people come here to commit suicide and just walk off the trails never to be found becasue that's what they want. Human nature is unpredicable. Animal nature is more predictable. Don't be afraid. Go for a hike. Enjoy yourself.

My friends went hiking in The Yunque in Puerto Rico. And they tell of a story that happened while there. About two hours into their hike three of them were ahead while two were behind. The three ahead noticed that the two behind were suddenly very quiet and they didn’t feel or hear them walking anymore. They looked behind them and they didn’t see them. They went back a few yards and they saw the couple just walking around in circles. They began calling out to them for a few minutes and they never stopped to look at them but just kept circling and throwing their arms up in the air like they were swatting flies or bugs or something. The three decided to walk closer to them and reach out to grab their arm and it felt really cold and suddenly they stopped and looked at them. When they asked them what were they doing they said, “ what do you mean, did you not notice all the fog?” Turns out that no one else noticed a very thick fog around them except for the couple. They couldn’t see anything in front of them the fog was so thick and cold. They said they couldn’t see the trees anymore or the three people ahead of them. And all they saw was the thick fog and felt cold. Nothing else around and they were trying to walk away from the fog but couldn’t. Almost as though it was holding them in place. No one else noticed it. When my friend reached out to touch them it all just faded instantly. I don’t know what’s in the wilderness, but I’m in no way trying to find out either. It’s creepy. To me it feels like the forest is alive.

The first is alive. Science finally confirmed that the trees communicate via a fungal network beneath the leaf layer on the ground. We also know that physics(how molecules/atoms behave) doesn't follow our rules when it isn't being observed(I think it must b observed by many to b considered solid/predictable) so it makes sense that reality is able to bend when one is isolated. I've had the forest twist around on me and legend of the Fae r prevalent in the deep woods of VT, some rules we follow: Don't eat anything, and when in doubt just keep walking.

I’m from the UK and in 2018 me and a mate did an amazing road trip of California and visited lots of cool places. When we were in Yosemite we did some mild hiking which was mainly fine, but I do recall visiting one particular part of a forest which just felt dark and cold compared to everywhere else. It was also eerily quiet and I remember feeling a bit uneasy like we were being watched. It was one of those times when you just get goose bumps for no reason. We left and returned to the main trails and felt fine. I was due to do another road trip this August starting in Washington and then heading to Yelllowstone, but it’s been cancelled due to Covid. I had an experience hiking the Appalachian trail. I was hiking alone, coming back from an overnighter. Well it was supposed to be for two nights, but the first night was enough for me. At one point in the middle of the night, I felt like my whole tent was coming down on me, while, even though my tent being green, there was a red tint, something like a red light off a headlamp. It was very sudden and I heard like a grunt and fell right back asleep. I don't know what it was, I just kinda brushed it off the next morning. It was so sudden and everything happen so quickly that it was just like a bad dream. Well, after a morning rain shower while eating my breakfast, I decided to pack up and hike back to my car. When it stopped raining, I got my things together and left. I was about 10 miles away from my car hiking some pretty steep rocky terrain. About half way into it, there was this deep fog that settled in. It just kinda happened. I was standing there engulfed in fog. Now the AT is pretty well marked so I had my bearings straight, but no matter what direction you looked the fog made everything look like it was moving away from you. The intensity of the dense forest slowly moving away from you was a very ominous feeling. However, when I looked back from where I came from, it was clear and welcoming. Drawing me back. On top of that, I kept trying to convince myself to go back. "oh well you didn't see that one waterfall. it's only few miles that way", "did you pack your car keys? If you stop now and turn back you, you can still make back to your car". And these thoughts will fester, so I checked my bag for keys, knowing damn well I packed them..I ignored the thoughts and the ever growing intense fog surrounding me. I hiked on and on, thinking I'm starting to walk in circles, even though I'm walking the beaten path. Finally, as I reach an opening and the fog has lifted. I get a sense of calm back. You made it, I said to myself. I'm not sure if it was just anxiety that had me thinking like that, but I know what I felt and seen. The fog was so intense the direction I needed to go and every step you took, it only looked as though the forest and trail kept getting more distant, but as I looked back the trail was fine and inviting. Very crazy experience to say the least. I hike around that area often, first time I ever had an experience like that. Intense paranoia and hallucinations. lmao! I haven't been to that area since. There is more too, but I'm leaving things like that. For a sense of mystery and to further stop myself from sounding crazier than I already am.

mhmm Interestingly, they say in many cases, a child can survive longer than an adult in that kind of circumstance. And this is mostly due to the expectations adults have learned to use which when one is dashed right after the other it can be a deadly situation if one is lost. Yet a youth of even 8 or 10 hasn't developed those.
@RiotWild
@RiotWild 3 года назад
I have been stranded and had to wait for rescue. I knew where I was but due to weather conditions I couldn't get myself or my child out safely. I had sent my gps location to my partner and I knew that either a ranger would be able to get us in a few hours or we would be able to keep moving the next morning. I built a shelter, made up a game to keep my daughter occupied, and started on a fire. Even having a shelter and knowing I could be rescued or wait it out, it was a scary feeling.

I shudder to think what could just 'get' a full grown man and cause him to be erased from our existence. Separate note: the dogs they use to try and find these people absolutely live for tracking and have great fun and enjoyment when doing their 'job'. These dogs are nearly impossible to fool or throw off the trail. It's just so crazy they never found a scent in these cases. It's the very best proof that something highly unusual has happened to these people. I, for one, will never go into this, or any other area like it, by myself. Nope.

Going back again this spring I have a four wheel drive truck I am rebuilding to take back deeper into the woods. I lived off grid in the woods for ten years in washington state, but now live in norcal. And no I don't think you are crazy. Its just in us to explore. I was born at the wrong time. Most people only skirt the very edges of our nation's wilderness area and never venture into the backcountry or wilderness areas where the illusion of safety offered by civilization disappears along with the feeling that you are in control of the events that dictate your survival. In the few pristine wilderness areas left you are at the mercy of the elements and your surroundings. Most humans have separated themselves from nature so completely that they no longer are aware of its secrets and mysteries. This ignorance and hubris leads us to make foolish mistakes and overestimate our abilities in these wild place and we become lost, injured, or a victim of the every day struggle for life that we have separated ourselves from so well.

I went to Yosemite on a family trip when I was about 16 years old. I I remember it was a very crowded place, and although many people were there, it felt oddly 'empty' if that even makes sense. I mean it more in a spiritual aspect. Usually, nature brings me peace, calm, a feeling of 'not being alone' and yet I felt quite alone even though my family and I spent the whole trip walking together on the most crowded areas of the park (especially the waterfalls). Don't know how to put it into words, but Yosemite has really weird vibes, and although it is a beautiful place to the eye, I think that maybe that beauty or perhaps more than meets the eye. It is there to draw people in to whatever really is there lurking in woods.

I've done alot of land navigation during my time in the Army. When I was a rookie i realized very quickly how easy it is to become disoriented. A few bad thoughts, and anxiety starts to creap in. That's when your decisions just become a little "off". I remember being somewhat deep in a New England forest. It was obvious that the 2 fellow soldiers I was with were relying on me to kind of be the brains of the operation. I didn't feel like the really took where we were seriously so I just started talking out loud about what an extreme effort it would take anyone to get to us if one of us fell and couldn't continue.. (and we were only about 2 miles off the road). Once I made those comments I think they quickly understood how much they underestimated that help was at minimum 8 hours away. It just so happened we hit 3 water points and every one of them was dried up. Just that little water distraction/concern caused them to start talking about taking "short cuts" to the next position. The "short cut" idea was my wake up call to what happens to inexperienced people in the woods. When I pointed out the number of reasons why their idea was not great they were a bit embarassed, but I think they learned first-hand what sadly some experience without a safety net.

I live about an hour or so from Yosemite, and it is beautiful. Flew over it in a glider once, and the other pilot and I discussed the frequency of missing people and how he had participated in searches. Yosemite is kind of like the "Disneyland" of the Sierras, is really crowded in many places, and one can hear any number of languages in use. Not far away are much less crowded areas and even some that are so remote that there may be no one else within many miles. These areas can be exhilarating, but not for the casual tourist. One should be prepared and at least somewhat wilderness savvy.

Me and my buddy got lost going up to Clouds Rest and I can truly see how people can just disappear/get lost and never be found. Yosemite is a vast place that just seems to keep going and going. Be careful and always have a group of people and always follow the water to find your way back to the path.

I used to work at a summer camp every year up until about two years ago when I stopped going for personal reasons. In the wooded area next to the camp, many campers and camp leaders reported a strange presence. There was a friend of mine who went looking for this presence and got knocked over by it when he tried to “confront” it. Another friend said she saw this thing visibly. She said she has the ability to see into other dimensions, auras, spiritual beings, etc. I don’t envy her ability. She said she had seen this presence’s form and she had seen it hover over someone and had seen it follow them into the wooded area where it lived. Another friend of mine said her and her friends went “ghost hunting” in the wooded area off of the trail near the boys cabin area, the same area reported to have the presence. They said it got very quiet the further out they went from the designated trail. They said something felt off, like they shouldn’t be there, but they ignored it and went further out anyways. When they had gone out a good distance from the trail, they said things started getting quiet. No bird chirping, not wind, nothing. Everything seemed to freeze. They said that as they walked during this time, they saw one little bird follow them on the trail. It was the only wildlife they saw. It would walk behind them, or out in front of them, curiously, and very close to their group, only several feet away, so they said, and then would walk off into the bushes, only to reappear as they kept walking from time to time. It didn’t chip or make any noises, and it didn’t act like a normal bird so they said. Suddenly, during one of the instances where the bird would walk out in front of them, it turned around, froze in its tracks, and looked up at them and stared. It didn’t move. It just stared, only feet from their group in front of them. They said, looking back, that the bird was trying to warn them. They said they immediately felt like they shouldn’t be there, that what they were doing was wrong. They left immediately. Later, reportedly, they found the same bird, dead, in the middle of the outdoor arena which was under construction. I had an experience one night on that same trail. My heart is racing as I recall it. I had been sick that day. It was a weird sickness. It felt like a spiritual sickness, not a physical feeling. There was also reported, by several campers and leaders, to be a strong feeling of hopelessness and suicidal depression come over many campers and leaders the day I got sick; like a “spirit of death” as some said. That night, I went into a spare cabin where I could quarantine away from everyone. I had a reoccurring song play in my head as I tried to go to sleep, like in fever dreams, but I could not enter sleep. It felt like sleep was running from me even though I chased it. I remember it felt quiet. I remember it felt eerie. I remember it felt wrong, like something was staring at me from outside my window that I could not see, something evil. I was feeling increasingly nauseous and got up to head to the main hall where I could get water and use the bathroom. I stepped outside my cabin and it was very quiet. I looked around. I felt very alone. I expected for wolves to come and attack me or for something to approach me in the darkness. My heart raced with fear. I looked down the path. It was very dark. I felt an evil feeling down the trail. I felt like something evil was in that wooded area on the trail. My spirit knew something was wrong. I walked slowly toward that wooded area on the trail. I felt a presence. The same presence some had told me about and I had heard about. The closer I got to the wooded area the more fear I felt. Like something invisible, big black, soulless eyes, staring at me, like it wanted my soul. I felt a presence creeping around me, dark, wide, dead and empty eyes staring at me, staring into me, staring right at me, staring right into my eyes... I have never felt such a soul level of fear in all my life as that night in the dark on that path. I felt the presence of something dark and evil. Something very dark... it felt like there the presence was great. The presence felt overwhelming, the feeling of death. This invisible presence seemed to lose its power over me as I whimpered out loud my favorite Psalms that I knew. I quoted psalm 18 from memory: “I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies. The cords of death encompassed me; the torrents of destruction assailed me; the cords of Sheol entangled me; the snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.” I quoted all the psalms I could think of in the Bible. I was miserable, sobbing, stepping out one foot at a time, each step feeling one step closer to death, one step closer to this darkness around my soul, one step deeper into soulless and eternal darkness. Each step I took seemed to bring me closer to this darkness and death, but while pausing in each step, I would continue to quote all the psalms I knew, especially psalm 18, and as I did, the presence did not seem to leave, but it’s grip it had over me seemed to loosen. As I entered into the most terrifying place on the trail, the place that seemed to have the heaviest presence of them all, I stood, and in between sobs, quoted all the psalms I knew and made it clear to whatever was there that (through my sobs and terror) I knew fully well they had power over me, but not over God, and that he would protect me. As I made my final stand, so it felt, the feeling of death loosened, I felt relaxed and less afraid, the feeling of terror and soul darkness lifted, and finally it turned into a soft eerie feeling, an uncomfortable feeling, like I was trespassing somewhere I did not belong... God bless; the true God, not the phony God many have been introduced to through misleading preachers and phony Christians. May the God of love and grace help you and may you find Him.

Any time Sasquatch is involved, they seal the case. You cannot have the public avoid a national park because of a National Forest Service saying she was abducted by Sasquatch. Visitors would dry up. She was picked up and carried by the beast. Note that she was in a region that only helicopters can get to. She could not have gotten there. But a Sasquatch can climb and go anywhere. He put her where he thought she wouldn't be found. The Sasquatch have no need to do things that draw attention to them or cause searches. That is why the dogs lost her scent, because she was carried. I've backpacked many many times north of Yosemite out of Hetch Hetchy. Had an amazing Sasquatch experience. They are in those parts. Those that hike there a lot know about it. I know what I'm talking about.

I used to do some group hiking on college. I live in South East Asia, and many hiking group here must have sort of a leader who responsible for all the member, s/he usually walk at the back of the line, checking each and every one of the members. No one is allowed go by themselves to take a pic, or left anyone behind to take some rest or something like that.. They even sometimes got too cautious as far as tying rope to each person in one line to prevent anyone got seperated.. Solo hikers quite rare here, and even if there are any, they will get the most attention from other hikers, and many passerby hikers will offer themselves to accompany.. Each trail is consist of several posts which have park rangers in it. All hikers must report to these posts.. But still people dissappearances are sadly inevitable everywhere 😢

I had a friend from high school I didn't see so often. He had two young sons. I visited him and his family in the very woodsy beautiful rural area of northern California he lived in. It was obvious his two young boys spent a lot of time around the woods there and were very much at home with the forest. We were having a BBQ and the boys were in and out of the woods but they came out and said something like.." we were visiting the dimension portal in the woods again..one is that way..and there's another one." These were like 8 and 10-year-olds. The older one talking and the younger one nodding..they said it like they were describing a hill or special big tree..like something that was interesting but they knew pretty well. The adults all laughed. But the two boys got angry and sad...and sat on the steps to cry. I went over to them and they said to me.."you don't belive us." I told them adults sometimes laugh because they think it's cool not because they don't believe you. That seemed to make them feel much better and that was it.

I've seen wolves and buffalo on the Yellowstone geyser one, and wild turkeys on top of the mesa verde canyon house at dawn, anyways, I was on the Yosemite one, I think its the one they call the valley floor or something, it has a big meadow, and then to the left it has the big dome rock, not the waterfall one, I think its half dome, anyways Im looking at it, and theres this big red beam hitting right on that big rock about halfway up, from the sky. I dont know what it was, but it was pretty bright red. It wasn't a sunbeam, it was more like laser character type thing. It was there for several minutes, I kept checking back, and then it was gone. and Ive gone back a few times and never saw it since. Anyways, I saw that red beam...so theres that.....

I always share my location with a family member or the group I’m with when hiking in a big park like this , I’ve been here before last winter and stayed at the top , for 2 days in a beautiful cabin , but there was no wifi no phone service or any type of communication from outside and just to get to a convenient store it took a 2 hour drive back alll the way down the mountain to the nearest town , felt Strange and ere sometimes , but since I was with a group of family I did t think much of it my sister said she heard someone talking in the room she was staying in and heard noises late in the night , kind of creeped me out , but it’s so easy to get lost here if ur alone or new to the trails and don’t know what to expect . Always stay within the group and close by never wonder off alone unless ur an expert in the area and know the trails and weather conditions by heart . But man it’s so much a beautiful place , breathtaking , especially during winter ❄️, super cold , I even got to see a pack of deer 🦌 🦌🦌🦌 . There’s not much cell phone service tho so it could be scary if your lost and can’t get ahold of help . I’m a firm believer that something lurks in this park tho , idk what it is but the most beautiful places usually have the strangest and weirdest disappearances .I hope and pray they find there way home or are safe in gods kingdom ❤️

He then felt an inner burning sensation and began taking clothes off. Then one of the riders came up on him and asked him what he was doing. I don’t think it’s just Bigfoot or people getting lost. Yosemite has the biggest granite rocks in the world, tallest and biggest trees in the world, and some of the highest waterfalls in the world. And if you believe in the world of Nature Spirits like the Native Americans living in Yosemite Valley did, you're on the right path to understanding why Yosemite has the most unexplained disappearances. The famous face on Half Dome - seen in my avatar - is an example of this mysterious life that has been talked about for ions as being very real. Even the faeries you're referring to are likely Nature Spirits, which I strongly believe Bigfoot is one of them. All of nature is much more than meets the eye. And proof of this is seen by simply trapping a star in an enclosed space such as a small opening in the trees. I did this a couple years ago with family and friends while camping under the stars in Yosemite Valley and they were all blown away to see the star fly around like a firefly seemingly trying to get out. No doubt, we live in a mysterious world!

Their most effective tactic is to come across as convincingly innocent and benevolent.

I've hiked there many times in Yosemite. Always with other people. The first time was back in 1981 about a month before the last victim, a girl, was described. Back then, there was not a lot of people on the trail around April of that year. I knew, as a 15 year kid, how dangerous it was. I don't think I would go by myself on a hike when I was young. There are bears there. But, there are also snakes and coyotes etc, and terrain that if you're not careful can make your life miserable if you get lost or injured. Can you survive by yourself? Sure you can, and you can intuitively get out of a bad situation...unless something really bad happens and skies the limit there. Long story short, don't be stupid and travel alone. When I was 26 and more stupid, I hiked out alone and regretted it. A bear was stocking me over a couple of days. It ruined my experience, and I called it quits indefinitely for hiking alone. Was I safe? Probably. But, it just was not worth it. On the flip side, if you want to disappear, nature can really make you disappear, and you would be integrated into it permanently. This sure sounds a hell of a lot better than dying slowly from cancer or some other degenerative disease. 😀

We used to go to the back country in Yosemite in the dead of winter back in the 70's. Snow camping and it was awesome. Used to always go with three of my friends and never had a bad experience. Nothing like a huge roaring fire all night long surrounded by nothing but 10 feet of snow and dead quiet. I've backpacked the Pacific Coast trail and all over the Cascades and Blue mountains. Seen tons of wildlife and fished great pristine high country lakes. Never once have I felt threatened. Of course I always carry a loaded .357 or similar handgun, anyone who goes out in the wilderness alone and unprepared is just asking for trouble. Had to fire a warning shot about five feet in front of a mountain lion that was probably just curious (but could have been stalking us) once, but I don't consider that a problem as we were prepared. The outdoor author 'Jim Kjelgaard' had a great quote in a book I read when I was 10 years old that always stuck with me: 'Don't go out there without what you're prepared for". Great advice and something I've always heeded.

@24:20 Lesson learned... never split up...The most obvious conclusions is that these parks have surveillance that’s not supposed to be found by anyone, yet they can see people who are alone... and that’s the only time they strike...

"The earliest recorded mysterious disappearance..."? I've always heard they didn't keep records of missing people in any National Park, let alone Yosemite. How about some pics of the more recent missing people, just in case someone recognizes one of them. And most definitely do more disappearances in National Parks.
@MissingVoidTV
@MissingVoidTV 4 года назад
Hey Ryan, firstly I did mean to put their picture up and I hadn't even realized until just now that I didn't include them. Will get that right next time and no, the parks have released a list of unsolved missing persons in their parks, which is how I found out about these disappearances

Nearly invisible and perhaps inter dimensional predator’s taking these people when they are alone even for short periods of time such as being first or last in a hiking group on a trail . Never hike alone , always carry protection and a locator beacon , even then , anyone is taking their life into severe danger in these national parks and wilderness areas . Something supernatural is stalking these missing people .

I used to gig at Yosemite regularly and it was a bread and butter gig - we got 2-3 nights in a row with food and cabins included. Mid week for the employees to party - we relied on it for income as music was all I did for a living at the time. I started getting so uncomfortable going there that I quit taking the gigs. This was a big deal as I had an entire band that I wanted to keep working - if you don't, they find other bands and people who will keep them working 5-7 nights a week, to support their families. They couldn't understand why I would quit taking those gigs since they were "so much fun, paid well and we got so many perks". I just said I'd find someplace else for us to gig on those nights, and I did. I just was too uncomfortable going there, something felt truly creepy there.

Such beautiful Parks can attract many good people, & the criminally intent sometimes. As people get captivated by the incredible scenery, they may easily forget that they, as tourists, are possible targets. People predators can blend into cities, towns, & outdoor tourist environments. Campgrounds may sometimes be potential predator territory. Most people are not initially concerned that they are being targeted? Park Service & Law Enforcement cannot always see every crime develop. Some crimes are more likely going to happen in the remote areas. Small groups are naturally much safer than lone individuals! Situational vulnerability is always lurking on narrow trails, forests, rocky outcroppings, & minimum visibility areas! Not just wild animal predators, but potential criminals may crouch in the shadows, bushes, & brushy places.Yosemite Valley is itself an untold mystery!

When you think about the olden days when a prisoner would escape from jail, their main fear was the bloodhound. The bloodhounds ALWAYS found them unless they traveled through water. And these dogs could smell the trail very good at least two days later, then fairly well for up to a few days after that.
@jessikapiche6097
@jessikapiche6097 4 года назад
Indeed. I also heard they can track you from 2 miles away. So i don't know if this is true but something weird have happened to those people and it is not only a wild animal that got them, it is something faster and clever...
@Janellabelle
@Janellabelle 4 года назад
@@jessikapiche6097 I agree, and it goes against everything I know about life on earth to do so! Lol On a side note, you say you've read that bloodhounds (and other tracking dogs I imagine) can smell you a mile away without you having made a trail down that mile? Like if you came from the opposite direction the dog is starting at and stopped a mile away they could smell you? 👃

I remember experiencing a heavily foggy hike up to senital dome. When thinking about it now it definitely was an unwise and risky decision. Senital dome has a very vague trail path since most of it is just rock and very little dirt. There were times where I had to stop in search of signs of people trekking through an unmarked path. When recalling the experience at the time I was throughly enjoying the hike. The fog for some unknown reason seemed very alluring. It was so thick that I couldn’t see 5 feet in front of me but for some reason it kept pulling me in. Honestly, I seemed like a man possessed, I was walking into an unknown path, where I could basically see nothing, in a deathly silent mountain top. I had every reason to be scared and turn back but I continued right until the very top of senital dome. What I experienced on top of senital dome that day is something I will never forget. Reaching a familiar look out point with fond memories of its glorious views, it was strange to be unable to see anything. When on top of senital dome the fog had seemed to thicken up even more and it had surrounded me. From every direction there was only a vast and empty white space. It seemed like I was in a space that I could only label as being “in between” something. It was an unknown feeling that swelled in chest that I can still remember vividly.That’s when it hit me. A painful chill went up my spine and I remember feeling as if I was being watched. I know it was irrational but my brain had created the thought that someone or something was there, deep in the fog. Fear had set in and I made my descent back to my car. I hiked quickly and tried to stay calm but I had a feeling of being chased and I couldn’t shake it off. I was extremely scared of looking back, I was afraid of what I would see so I just trudged on. I had eventually made it to the half way marker, a small creek in the center of a small forest. When crossing the bridge over the creek the water helped calm me. The fog seemed less dense around the creek and the sound of my hiking boots bouncing on the bridge wood relaxed me . I took a second to breath and look at the water. I realized I was acting a little foolish and laughed to myself. Brushing my self off and letting out a big sigh I turned to continue on my way, but I froze. Before I could take a step I heard the sound of the bouncing bridge wood. Someone had catched up to me, it had finally reached me. I could only remember feeling an extreme amount of despair because I was unable to think. In a last act of bravery I forced myself to turn around and face my attacker. There he was, AN IRON HOOK WEDGED IN THE CAR DOOR HANDLE!!! Haha no I was lucky enough to be with a hiking buddy that day. But seriously thinking about it now, after watching this video, I could only image how dangerous a situation like that could have been if I was alone. Never hike alone guys!!

@@JCTBomb the thick pea soup foggy hike up sentinel dome was a true experience. It was a little scary in the sense that you could only see people approaching you when they were 10 feet away but you couldn’t actually see their face until they were 5 feet away. So I was scared. And there was someone following me but I assumed they were just a lone hiker too. I could hear them step in the same puddles as me, and their heavy steps on the bridge. And I would stop and they wouldn’t advance past me so I was getting freaked out. But once I passed through the forest-y bit of the hike and reached the rocky end of the hike they vanished. They could have just gone another way but I’ll never know. I like to think it was a forest spirit trying to spirit me away lol.

@boss 630 It also could have just been a sock that was dropped, when I was hiking in Yosemite I saw a shirt on the ground when I was waiting for the rest of my group to catch up with me. And after a short while a backpacker came back to the shirt and put it in his backpack with a bunch of other clothes that had slight dirt on them, almost like they fell out. Not every little thing is paranormal or dark/mysterious.
