"you know it is death to strike an Egyptian, yet you struck him; why did you do it?"..."to save the old woman"..."why, what is she, to you"?..."an old woman...".....PERFECT scripting....
I was around the same age I’m 26 turning 27 this year I watched this movie every weekend at my grandma’s and many others still a good movie but now I’m aware that the story is fabricated and it never actually happened in history. Still a good movie though
I was 15 yrs young in (edit= 1965) I watched this in the cinema about four times. Great story love the biblical ones that are made well worth good actors. I’m here in 2024 watching it again I never thought I would be alive still in this 2024 it’s not my time to go I have many things to do.

@@faiththao268 I would have to agree because this movie is one of my favorite Bible Movies, it's a tradition at my house, My Husband Graham, our three children, our 6-year-old Daughter named Karen, our 8-year-old son named Adam, and our 10-year-old Son named Philip would watch this movie when it comes on every day before Easter on the ABC Network.
"Blood makes poor mortar": Very utilitarian assessment, to appeal to the Egyptian sensibilities, but the effects were merciful, appealing to his own Hebrew heart. Moses dealt wisely in Egypt. Very wisely indeed.
Such a wonderful story I saw this when I was a kid never will I forget the handsome Yul Bryner and a charming Moses as Charlton Heston still I am watching

I watch this amazing Cecil B. DeMille classic every year, and it never ceases to amaze and move me. Extraordinary cinematic tricks for its time. No CGI. 🎬❤️🎬
Charleton Heston's role in Wayne's World captures his true acting ability. I met him once in an elevator in New Jersey around 1980 and it was like being in the presence of majesty.
I watched this movie Ten Commandments more than 50 times. Excellent movie. Seen Ben Hur more than 20 times. This filmtake us us to Old Testament Biblical period.
When they were filming in Egypt the extras who were native and barely spoke English saw Mr. Heston and were told he was playing Moses.they misunderstood and thought he was supposed to be moses.when Heston walked among them, they bowed in reverence to him. They respected Moses also
A wonderfully acted movie. Plot and drama. Big sets, huge number of extras and Cass A actors. Hollywood in its golden era. And of course Charlton Heston. A great actor, rest in peace. Last note. Three years and two million views later and only 26 comments excluding mine. I suppose people are awestruck by the acting and performances that it leaves them speechless. Or they have nothing to say which is a sad commentary of the country we live in today.
@@rimrunz1795 And I am awestruck by your grammar and writing abilities. If you're going to be sarcastic please reenroll in Elementary school so they can teach you how to properly write.
Beautiful performances... never gets old.. the way Yoshebel clutches Moses' arm when he cuts her free, her facial expression... that's her son.. but she cannot say anything.. He speaks like a Prince of Egypt, but with heart.. Ramses (Brynner) also speaks like a prince, but without any heart.. Outstanding movie...
A majestic movie so great a real story of sufferings of the Israelites, your heart moves within when you see the moving of the granite block's , wonderful extremely great story and film made
I say this honestly from my heart this is the best movie ever made the acting is brilliant and superb all the acters they will never be able to make a movie that help you to get spiritual and I believe God ministers to us in this form He is a God of great knowledge and power
I'm so freaking old. I can still remember seeing this in the movie theater way back in '56. It was our reward for completing catechism, lest we became criminals in our parents world view.
One of many mistakes in this movie: The Levites were the priestly tribe of Israel. And because of a decree by Joseph, found in Genesis, who was Pharoah D'soser's Viceroy, priests did not lose their lands during the 7 years of famine. So the Levites did not lose their lands in Goshen, and unlike the other 12 tribes did not suffer forced servitude. This is still a great movie though. We watch this movie after searching for leaven, to remove and burn it, before Passover. We watch Prince of Egypt during Passover.
This is a movie that has Israel, lead to freedom, and the movie will never go away until Jesus comes again. This movie will be watched for another 1K years or more.
Yep and any slave movie from America is the same about Israel in bondage again still in da never been let free just not on da plantation no more dats all
I have a old loose leaf binder which contain the dialog of the movie,I recorders the ten commandments on cassette then wrote the entire dialog me and my friend can recite every line of the movie. "Bring his body stained with his blood".."I will to mingle with your own"
"The pyramids and other monuments were built by Egyptian laborers who either donated their time as community service or were paid for their labor. It is also a misconception that slaves in Egypt were routinely beaten and only worked as unskilled laborers." This was the result of a Google search.
The biggest lie in hollyood history.White american can't accept the pyramld is in Africa much less that the pyramid were build by black people. So now caught in a lie, they are saying they were'nt white but brown skin.Ha ha
2:57 It must have been difficult for Baka to not leap at Lilia. He is supposed to look at her as a work object; a non-person, but he's attracted to her. It makes me think of Ralph Fiennes and Embeth Davidtz characters in Schindler's List. Only Fiennes' character is more sadistic than Baka.
Cecil Dee Bee Maalice was director of the movie, he was so excited on success of scene Parting of Nile River in Egypt he got heart attack (I heard people of 50s 60s say so) No doubt the parting of Ocean like River Nile was tremendous no word to describe if see the movie you get that excitement
Ten commandments. ...A great movie of yester era. One can watch this movie even today.. Ofcourse...I have seen this movie in my earlier age...I wish to see it once..again.
Ten commandments is more than "Titanic" though Titanic is one of my all time favourite, everything is perfect in Ten commandments ( the camera, the accent, the voices, the English, the sound clarity.... Everything👌🏼❤️ Yeah....... May be because it is the "TEN COMMANDMENTS" 🙏🏼
